got a call from this number with a background audio saying obscene words.

Here's the info., for the current owner of this phone number: 1 800 287 7626. It is Times Telecom, in Canada. It is their customer service number. I called them and let them have it, told the service rep. I was on the Nat'l do not call Reg., and unlisted to boot. I advised them to STOP calling me immediately, because if I recieve another call from them, I'm reporting them ASAP. I suggest you do the same. I told the girl to pass it on to her supervisor and that I ment business!  Good luck!

1-(800)-287-7626 is currently used by Yestel, an Asian long distance service. Probably the same as the Canadian company. These kind of companies often use buildings for setting up telemarketing war rooms, and are more likely centered elsewhere off shore. For all we know, these kind of services, and many calling cards too, may be eavesdroppers trying to phish information. My wife used a calling card for an Asian service, and every political comment she made was twisted into jokes by the opposite parties in news reports, and often by the politicians themselves. If you use one of these services, beware of what you and your other party talk about. I suspect that the wire tapping is ramped. I was able to hear tapping equipment noises when the services were used, including the breathing and hangup clicks of the eavesdroppers. The caller from Yestel was using a pushy kind of sales tactic. Seems a little shady to me. Be careful!

I got call from this company to say call back this number 1-800-276-7626. They said in the message that I have unpaid overdue balance which will be sent to collection agency. However I don't have any. I don't know this company until now.

Hi,  The phone number belongs to a Canadian company...Times Telecom., and it is their customer service number. I call them and told the service rep., my number and that I was unlisted and on the United States National do no call Registry. Also that I will immediately turn them in to the registry if I recieve one more call from them, period. I would suggest you call the number and let them have it also. They have a website. Enter "the number" then "times telecom" and it will pop up. Good luck!
