Got a call that my car (which was parked) had damaged another car in a parking lot, then a letter asking for $490. Had my insurance company wrong. They say I can pay VISA. How nice of them. :o)   Told me there was a police report.  Haven't seen it.  Weird calls like others report.  I say, put them out of business or in jail!

My household keeps getting the same calls very similar to everyone else's. Automated system that doesn't say who they are or even who they're looking for. The first time I answered their call I answered "hello" about five times before hanging up. They just called again a few minutes ago, when I talked to a rep "Erica". I asked for her name and where she was calling from, she only gave me Erica. When I asked who she was calling for, she asked for my brother, who no longer lives with us. I again asked her what company she was with, and instead of giving me an answer she became very frustrating and demeaning towards me and asked why I would care and why I wouldn't "just say he wasn't there anymore". Why should I??? I asked for her supervisor and she absolutely REFUSED to connect me towards anyone or give me a name. Now I am beyond pissed.

Got a call from this guy asking for my husband. He called me at work. When I told him not to call me anymore or at this number, he started yelling and getting irate. I am settling debt with an agency. I called them and they said it was Alamo damage department but looked them up and found out they were First Asset Management, a debt collection company. Alamo must be either another business they have or a ruse! We haven't rented a vehicle in years.

I received a letter also about an open account I have. Same here I haven't even rented a car, and it has nothing to do with that at all. The account information they have on me is legitimate but, I agree with you. The address and all is fishy!!! I am afraid some bogus company has gotten my information and is pretending to be a collection agency. They have somehow linked to a real legitimate collection agency, but if you follow through and send in the money, they won't credit you and will then have made a killing off of other's debts. I have received phone calls as well from same company, but can't call back and address and all doesn't even match what I receive by phone. Someone is definitely playing on this collection agency as well as debtors.

Don't remember a call but got a letter about one of my open accounts that has gone into collections. Had nothing to do with Alamo or any other car rental agency. The letter stated that I should send my payments not to the New York address but to Miramar Beach, Fl address. Looked up this alledged company and saw three otheer addresses but neither address on the letter was there. Something is definately fishy.

They called us *claiming* to be from ALAMO car rentals, harassing us about supposed damages that never occurred three weeks after we turned in our car and it got a clean pass by the return guy.  They wanted us to "settle" and send them several hundred dollars!  Calling the above numbers only got us on hold/disconnected.  When we called ALAMO, two customer reps said they had no idea what we were talking about, that they could find no such incidents under our name/account, and that "it sounds like you're being HAD by a scam artist!"  Considering the amount of info they had on us (rental dates, etc), it's possible it's an "inside job" by someone slimy who has access to their files, as we are big on shredding all paper before throwing it away.  So BEWARE of these creeps..........

I'M 99.9% certain this is a fraud or scam

A robot dialer left a message on my cell phone to call this number back. I did, and got several minutes of recordings about "please hold for assistance". I finally got a live operating who seemed surprized to hear a live person on the phone.  When I wouldn't give her any identifying information except my name she acted very flustered, told me to "hold on while she got my file," then put me on hold. I  hung up after waiting 15 minutes. Got suspicious and called back 8 (eight) more times, finally got through to the same woman.  I told her not to put me on hold and that I was recording the conversation. She then sounded flustered again, told me to "hang up and call right back"  and then she disconnected the call before I could say anything.  WEIRD!!!! And VERY, VERY Suspicious!!

This number just called my cell phone.  There was no one on the other line and they hung-up shortly after I answered.

We did file an accident claim with Alamo Car Rental.  Thought it was finalized and this is the first we've heard from them since the report.

I keep getting called by this number almost every other day now...  Started about a week ago from today.

I answer the call, since it is my work assigned cell phone and I hear dead air.  I say hello several times then realize that the call has ended.

Weird...  I decided to call...

The company is: Vanguard something or other...  Seems they have an automated dialing system which calls people in their Database for claims filed through National/Alamo Rental Car Companies.

Seems this IS a legitimate number.  It is not a hoax.

didn't get a call, got a fishy letter asking me to call the number, indicating I was involved with a car rental damage claim (on a date I know I wasn't). I called in a it of anger and a voice mail setup directed me to a full mailbox. It indicates a PO box 18064, Hauppauge NY 117888-8864 and shows the National and Alamo logo over Vanguard Car Rental USA, Inc. (which does run them), But even better, indicates at the bottom all correspondence and payments must go to an address at the bottom, not the new york one. THAT address is "First Financial Asset Mgmt, In"  PO Box 6887, Mirimar Beach, FL 32550. they have a web site at 1fam.com and it list three other addresses, no Miramar Beach. Gonna send this to my postmaster now.
