They just called me and I didn't answer. I looked up the number and it was Macy's. I placed 3 orders over the weekend so I'm glad I checked here. Definitely legit.

This is a legitimate call from Macy's regarding order shipment. It was a recording. They usually make this call to let you know that some items will ship separately. Although they send this information in an email as well, I guess they are following up to make sure you are aware of this fact.
As to an erroneous phone call, when you order online at Macys.com, you have to manually enter a contact phone number. It's conceivable that someone mistyped their phone number, which may explain a call you didn't expect. It is not necessarily sinister. Or, maybe someone else in your household placed an order, or perhaps you are the intended recipient of a gift. When I order a gift for someone, I sometimes give out the recipient's phone number in case there is a delivery issue.

Multiple shipments..I didn't order anything. I called Macy's to report it, but they said they couldn't do anything unless I gave them my personal information. I was only willing to give them the phone number they called twice, and the lady said she couldn't do anything with just that. So I responded that if they didn't care that an order had been fraudulently placed, then neither did I.

Next time, I'm not giving them my phone number! AUGH!

Multiple shipments and multiple orders? For what? I didn't order anything. Scary.

Call from Macy's Shipping Department (Automated)
Ann 2013-08-08 14:47:54 Unknown
automated call from Macy's telling me my order would be coming in multiple shipments.
Mia 2013-08-06 15:00:44 Unknown
I have never ordered from Macy's. Caller ID said Macys.com. It was nothing but static noise when I picked up.
callerinquirer 2013-08-05 15:34:41 Unknown
Just sounded like static, but I did order from Macy's so I'm sure it's what everyone else is saying.
It was helpful. I was a little concerned to get getting the same call (three times), so this site was useful.

A call came in to me from this number Sunday morning. Googled the number and found this information helpful. I did order items from Macy's so when the second call came in I answered. The call is automated and provides an option to not receive these calls any longer by pressing #.

This call appears to be from Macy's. I ordered a couple items via the Internet and have already received emails informing me that I will be receiving more than one package. So a cell phone call is not necessary, especially since my cell phone number is to be used for business. Not helpful!
ShopAdjumma 2013-07-11 17:10:19 Unknown
It's Macy's Customer Service number.
Usually about your on-line order.
Macy's customer 2013-06-28 15:26:34 Unknown
Oh, thanks for this information, I will answer now so they'll stop calling! No caller ID so thought this was a spam call like so many others. I did place an online order and it is being shipped in multiple shipments as 3 emails have already told me. Really, Macy's should leave a message to say this instead of not leaving a message at all and then calling over and over without identifying themselves on Caller ID. Annoying.

Just got that call too. I wonder if when we ordered from Macy's they didn't sell our phone numbers that were associated with the order and it's a scam company calling. The message was cut off and then they kept repeating for me to press 3 to repeat. I didn't dare press anything! Maybe some scammers hacked Macy's online ordering and stole numbers...

I just received a messsage--it was so garbled I had no clue who it was. I googled the phone number and saw the above. Yes, I did place an order from Macys and also got the email saying it is in separate shipments. Macys needs to get a handle on their automated service and at least make it understandable.
Diane 2013-05-22 16:14:16 Event Reminder
I also got a call from Macy's shipping department about multiple shipments in one order. Definitely legit, and great customer service! A phone call and an email.
CC 2013-05-14 16:18:21 Unknown
I agree. Sometimes my email is lost in my inbox and I would have been in a panic when i received a partial order.
Nick 2013-05-09 14:31:20 Unknown
Why are they calling? I didn't order anything!
Ira 2013-05-01 18:26:08 Unknown
The message informed me that I'd receive multiple shipments. But the end of the message thanked me for buying from Bloomingdales, not Macy's. The funny think is that we didn't buy anything from Bloomingdales, but we did buy stuff from Macy's.
Marcia 2013-04-23 15:23:30 Unknown
Thank you for the info - just got a call from that number and had no clue who it was.
chad_decker 2013-04-16 16:25:52 Unknown
The message was garbled and unintelligible. I agree that the notification call is useless seeing as how I already received multiple email confirmations from Macy's.
JE 2013-04-15 21:30:37 Unknown
Got a message from this number as well, but it was so garbled and full of static that I couldn't understand 1 word the message said. And if it is from Macy's, I am expecting something....which of course as everyone has written, got a couple emails as well.
KG 2013-03-11 15:24:12 Unknown
Got a message in my mobile VM today which sounded at first like the noise of a car driving over the rumble strip on a highway. Eventually, I realized it was probably someone speaking as there were regular pauses in the spiel that could've been speech, but it was so garbled i couldn't make sense of a bit of it. After googling I found this site and now I see what it was. We DID recently order a couple hundred dollars worth of merchandise from Macy's and I already received at least 2 emails about the fact that it will ship in two shipments so I really don't understand why they also need to waste time with a phone call saying something similar. Duhhhhhhhhh.
Kenny 2013-03-05 00:33:11 Unknown
I got this call on morning but i did not take it. It left a voicemail about my purchase from Macys(about $2XXX) and said i am going to receive an email about of it. what's going on?? i never purchase anything from Macys..
Did anyone get the same situation??
PackerFanAndrea 2013-03-04 15:31:54 Event Reminder
I'm already getting emails containing the same information. These phone calls are unnecessary and redundant, not to mention inconveniently timed.
deana 2013-02-05 16:18:28 Unknown
I couldn't understand the message-it was garbled so I disconnected and looked up the caller ID and found this site. Yes I ordered something from Macy's online and was advised via email it would arrive in 2 shipments. I agree, I don't need a phone call repeating something I already knew. Waste of my time.
