My records show that I had seven (7) calls from 800-308-8733 in the past 3 days.  They must have me on their speed dial.  Will they ever give up?

Xentel canvasses for Surrey Firefighters, or more accurately, trades on the firefighters' name & image to glean money for their operations (valid, considering they hire, train and equip a rented boiler room in downtown Vancouver, thus supporting the local economy) and remit a contracted stipend to SFF - how little is anyone's guess.....Their best canvassers do not take 'no' for an answer....so just don't pick up unless you're in a generous mood.

I will donate money to right place directly, instead of giving money to anoying stupid guys.

If you feel anoyed by the solicited bad guys, call the numkber 1-800-280-9651 or 604-574-5785 to stop junk calls.

This is a scam targetting the elderly.

The caller advises they are collecting money for the Surrey/White Rock (or possibly other city ) Fire Department.  It has been confirmed by the Fire Department that this charity is in no way associated to them.

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANYTHING.

After further investigation it has been confirmed with the Surrey Fire Department that this is actually a legitimate Charity collecting donations on their behalf.

That being said, there have been numerous negative experience with the phone solicitors, if you have such experience please feel free to contact the Surrey Fire Fighters Charitable Society at (604)574-5785 and advise them of your concerns.

Called me on the 9th of December. Wasn't home, no message. If it really is a charity that calls I ask them to mail me out the info and then I will make a decision on wheter I will donate. I don't usually make a donation anyway (on a fixed income) but it gets me off the phone with them faster AND if it is legit, they'll send me something.

Have had numerous calls from 800 308 8733 even after asking not to be called. Ive had it with this!

Received a call from this #, I will never give my hard earned money to anyone on the phone asking for charity,too many scams,I would give in person to a legitimate charity.

We have received the same calls from this number. It is annoying. I hate telemarketers and if I wanted to donate to a charity it would never be to any who use telemarketing no matter what the cause. That method is outdated and the most likely to fail, unless a senior answers the phone ( sorry Grandma, but it's true )

I too have received calls from 1-800-308-8733, same issue, no one speaks on the other end, and then hangs up? How did anyone figure out to link the number to Surrey Fire Fighters Charitable Society, when I call the 1-800 number it doesn't connect.
