Received a call saying that security had been breached on my debit card. when you call, they want to get your account number, 3-digit code on back and PIN.
I verified with my bank that there was not an issue with my card. This is a scam...do not give any personal information.

Recieved the same phone call from 'Unknown ID'. A computer generated voice left a message on my cell phone asking me to call 800-321-8140 to reactivate my debit card.

We also got a call on both of our cell phones on 6/24/09 in the afternoon. No caller ID, computerized message left the same message as described in other posts, called the number and it is a computerized system asking for card number, exp date, CC code and pin number. I put in cc number 000000000000 and other dummy numbers. In the end it said my card reactivated. THIS IS A SCAM BEWARE !!!!!!!your

I got the same call. The bad thing is I gave them my card number. I had to go to the bank and cancel my card.

Yep-
Same thing happened to me... an automated message on my cell phone... I called the # out of curiosity... because I don't have a "credit union" card... and my cell phone is a company phone anyway... and the company doesn't use a "credit union"... so I knew right off it was somebody trying to get information. Anyway... I called the #... and answered all of the questions... using zeros, or course...I was expecting an error message or something... but it "reactivated my card"... HA! I hope no one is naive enough to give out that information...I couldn't believe it... they asked for everything... just like Mike (above) said. I'm going to call my neighbor later... she's our local bank branch manager... maybe she'll know who to call to report this.

Same deal for me. Second time they called my number. Also happened to a coworker of mine whose cell # is numerically similar to mine. Looks like they just crunch their way through a list and hope to get a sucker.
I called Visa to report it, and it took some effort to get them to take notice. The first guy kept telling me how to submit a fraud claim and didn't understand that I was not a victim, just someone trying to help them out. The second person finally understood and she called the number herself. She verified that she was asked for all of the same info the Mike said above, and she told me she would write an e-mail to the appropriate department.

I got the same and called back.
They asked for:
16 digit card number
4 digit expiration
3 digit verification
4 digit pin number
'Course I just gave 12345... It was pretty funny, but I'm sure some people have been scammed. Is there a way to report the number to like, the cops or something?

Well, ya, I just got the same cut off voicemail. Tear for them. None of my creditors have my cell phone number.

Caller ID came up "Unknown" so I didn't answer. Voicemail picked up and caught the end of one of the best automated voices I've ever heard. They say my debit card has been diconected and I need to call 1-800-321-8140 or press 1 to speek to their "security department". What a load of Bull! They can't even make up a decent sounding bank name to sound legit. I'm tempted to call them and report more but I'm at work right now.
