I received a partial voice mail saying to call DM & Associates due to a complaint filed against me in my county.
I called (855) 217-9288 and was routed to Mr. Dork Esquire saying if you need to make a payment visit their website etc.  I couldn't leave a message because his mailbox was full.

I received a call from this number on my office phone and the guy on the other end said he has a case pending against me.  I told him that I seriously doubted that and then he read off the last four digits of someone else's SSN!
I'm surprised he didn't ask me to "verify" the last four of my social.  He just said, "oh this isn't you" and hung up...I suspect he'll call back at some point.  These people really need to get an effing life!

Just got a call from these bozos. In my Caller ID it shows "Criminal Complaints", which I'm guessing is supposed to frighten the person they're calling into believing they are a legal entity, which they are definitely NOT. They left the line open, not realizing they were still open and I heard a very enlightening conversation between two employees which proved they are a scam operation preying on people who don't know their legal rights.

I just received a call from them, bad connection so didn't hear company name.. they told me the complaint and I told them that I had never used that bank and I needed a statement showing who was collecting the debt and how much.. he acted confused by my request and put me on hold. I hung up.

These jerks call harrassing about a paid debt saying it is still open. What creeps

People just won't learn. I added their number to my reject list. This was the number they left on September 18th, not the number they called from. No voice mail or text this time.

I have received two text messages from this company; bot texts allege that "county proceedings being filed in reference to complaint *******.  D&M Associates is a junk debt buyer meaning they buy up old, old debt literally for pennies on the dollar. Not only is most of this debt collectible (past the SOL) but these types of debt buyers don't even care if YOU are the person who actually may have legally owed the debt.

Further, making the claim that "county proceedings are being filed" is an obvious attempt to make you think that they ARE/HAVE filed a lawsuit which, if they haven't actually filed such a suit, is a blatant violation of federal law...any company so willing to violate collection laws so blatantly is NOT a company you can deal with even if you actually do owe them money.

My advice is to either ignore them or, better yet, REPORT THEM to the FTC and whatever agency in your state that licenses/monitors collection agency activity.

Guys it is against the law for ANY collection company to send you a text!!!! If they send it save the text and go to your atty and sue the crap out of them.

Heads up guys. Its illegal for a collection company to send text messages to your cell phone.

So I get a message from my dad this morning and he says my name and Alert of county proceedings being filed in reference to complaint number 1959656. Contact D&M Associates at 1-800-340-0737. I called them and called them on their bull s*** saying I had already paid what they were talking about through someplace else that was LEGIT and that I have the emails and transactions to prove it and he hung up on me. I called back and it went to voice mail. Now I am the one harassing them! :) hehe two can play this game!

My friend just got a text sent to her addressed to me....she sent it to me and I had to tell her it was a fake after I googled the number...damn shame..

Alert of county proceedings concerning complaint number.. Sent to an old friends Cell Phone but with my full name.  Requesting I call immediantly 800-340-0737... So she FWD it too me... After a bit of web search Whoola I ended up here.  

D&M are nothing but out of date, "Debt Molesters".  FO!

Unfortunately when you change your number, you pretty much get someone elses old number and all the scams and spams that go with..  All you can do is file complaints.  

Sounds like it may be a extortion scam deal also..

I changed my number less than a week ago to stop getting calls/texts from these people. Only for them to send this, word for word:

I have filed 3 complaints (ps-I'm female and Caucasian, so clearly NOT named "jose") and have received an additional 3 texts since. This has all happened in a wk.  Filing yet another complaint.  WHO THE HELL ARE THESE NUMBNUTS?  Ugh, get a life and a real job FFS. (and they never have the right person when calling/texting me. This is beyond aggravating.

I too have been receiving text messages from this company for Kristi Kiker. The complaint # is 1956388. I am not Kristi Kiker, but there are several women in my area with that name.

Just got the txt after they had called number and spoke to us asking for a brother about county proceedings. . Best advise is never answer anything you don't know cause they just need to know your number has a person on the other end. And no I didn't answer my husband did. He learned his lesson. :)

My daughter just received a text that said my name, then said : Alert of county proceedings concerning complaint number 1955590 . Contact D&M Associates at 8003400737 immediately!...these people are ruthless! I talked to the Attorney General about them when they were calling me directly and she said that they are a fraudulent company. I also filed a complaint against them, per her advice.

A complaint is about to be filed against me from D&M associates. Right. Call from 808-205-1488 please call Andrea at 800-340-0737. Right. Both are unlisted numbers. It is highly unlikely that these people are legitimate, they are trolling for working cell numbers. Anyone know a business that leaves a call back number that is unlisted? Anyone ever have a court filing that wasn't delivered by the sheriff? Yeah, me neither. I blocked them and reported them as a spam call with one click on my cell phone.
