This number attempted to scam a utility custmer to pay usng the green card cam.  Stated they were UI electric in CT which they are not.   Pay or get shut off scam.  Scum at this number do not pay.

Claimed to be 5/3 Bank and got account number from my wife.  Claimed account problem and when bank is called there is no problem and they don't know who called.

Yep, and callerid showed "ELECTRIC MOTOR" which is what we sell, so the calls may be computer generated.  The call came from a Hammond, Ind. exchange (219-931-2843).  Here is the text of the message: "Please contact fifth third Bank regarding the recent activity on your account. We can be reached at 1-800-341-4777. For added convenience you can review your account online". 5/3 said they are aware of the scam....

This number has called me four times in the last hour, hasn't left any messages.  Going by the posts here it has something to do with 5/3 bank, but I have never had anything to do with that bank at all. No clue how they got my phone number or why they are calling me.

Received an automated message from this number asking my to check my account online at 53.com. I don't have an account with this bank and have already reported them to the national registry once. They stopped for a while and now they're calling again.

got a call from this number and from what I read its 5/3, I don't have an account of any type with them so why would they call?

1-800-341-4777 is a legit Fifth Third Number. (I just verified this with 5/3rd customer service (# on webstie))
It is left usually by an automated caller when an account is overdrawn etc.
Oddly, the people that answer the phone may not have any clue why you were called so, it may take some investigation to figure out. (unless there is an obvious issue on the account).

Do they have something to do with fifth third bank? I just got 2 calls from that number and I bank at fifth third.

They called posing as my bank and asking for my social security number and bank account number.

I reported them to my bank's security department (Fifth Third Bank).

Somehow they got my pre-paid cell phone number.

Calls at least 3 times a day. calls on weekends as well but when called back it tells me that they are only available Monday through Friday. In my state they are only legally allowed to call once a day.

Have gotten several calls.  No messages are ever left.

Called 3 or 4 times within a couple hours. Never left message.

Picked up phone and received a recording to please contact Fifth Third Bank about recent activity on my account.
