I received a call from this number on April 3, 2014, around 2:11 p.m. This rings into my phone and as I answered the call,  my voice mail service asked if I want to talk to the caller or send the caller to voice mail (Press 2), as I started to press 2, the voice mail genie said: "The caller has hung up".

They called me to reset my scale which is monitored by United Healthcare.  It was a legitimate call.  They asked for the year of my birth to verify that I am the right patient.  I had been having trouble with the weight scale.

The company, Alere Management claims that they are a clearing house or answering service for "CoSoluntions Medical" as well as other medical insurance and other healthcare intities. They called me and asked for my W9 forms, then a couple of minutes later called and asked for private healthcare information. They were pretending to work for Novartis Pharmaceuticals (a company that I have worked for in the past). Do not answer their questions. They are listed everywhere as a SCAM.

I tire quickly of any of the untold number of dead messages from various organizations, unknown callers, etc., left on my answering machine, and the time it takes to simply delete them.  My method now is to let it ring, answer, hold one second and then hang up.  I just got a call from this number and did this when  the phone rang.  <30 seconds later, I got my second call from the same number.  I did the same thing.  I may answer next time after reading many of these posts, but again as many of these calls as are coming in I may not recognize this particular number.

I just received a call from that number.  I did not confirm my identity, and instead asked what this was regarding.  The lady said she was calling from "the support group."  I asked what support group and she said it was for chemotherapy.  I told her I was no longer on chemo, and she told me she could close my case file and I would never be contacted again, as long as I answered a few questions.  She asked me to confirm my birth date.   As I've never attended a support group, and since she addressed me as "Mrs." (I am unmarried) I declined to give out any information.  I told her I was at work and unable to complete the call.  She offered to call back, and I declined.

This # is from Alere, and they are contracted through my health insurance United Health Care. I am currently pregnant, I was referred out to them, since I have a high risk pregnancy. Very friendly ladies who call me. All they are doing for me, is setting up a home nurse that visits once a week to administer a shot.

I got a call from this number within two minutes of hanging up with my insurance company (BCBS) and still had the phone in my hand.  I didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number (not the number I called and none of the numbers on my insurance card) and the caller was only identified on my caller ID as TOLL FREE CALL.  No one left a message.

On my insurance company's automated system, I was given an option of taking part in a survey following the call.  I selected "no," but am wondering if this is the company conducting the survey.

I get calls from this number from a company called Alere (www.alere.com).  The company I work for contracts with them and I have a "personal health consultant" (Mary) that calls me every quarter to see how I am. I do health assessmants and speak to Mary about 4 times a year and as a result, i get money put into an account that covers some co-pay's, some medications, etc that i may have to pay during the year. It is not a scam, at least for my company and many of us are benefiting from the program. Free money? Sign me up! Hope this helps....

Wanted to add that I haven't lived with my parents for 12+ years so there is no reason that a legit call would go to my parent's home phone. My husband's wellness program actually has my REAL number and name and I have received legit calls and mail from them. The fact that I was called at an old number and with an old NAME means that they are NOT for real. My husband's employer does not have my parent's number nor do they even know my old name.

Sounds like a scam. They called pretending to be from my husband's employer's wellness program (which is a real thing). However, they called my parent's phone number and used my former last name--that I haven't used since LONG before my husband started working for this employer.

Once a year, our company provides a Health Assessment.  Part of the program is logging onto a website associated with our insurance provider.  We fill out a questionnaire based on our health needs and it creates a custom page to assist in your needs.  We are also told by our administrator that we will receive a call from a Health Coach and have had my mother use this free service.  I am confident after receiving the call again this year that this is the same company and is Legitimate.  I don?t believe the post about a $5 charge to your phone, or I would have heard of it from my mother.  They might have incurred this fee else ware

It's my understanding this is a scam. It's an insurance company, HMO, wellness program, etc calling you. If you call the numbers they leave on your machine you will get a $5 or more charge on your phone. The number they leave is not the number they call from. Watch out.

I received a message from Candice at xt. 46690.  This is a program from United Health Care regarding healthy pregnancy care--at least for me, I am sure this may vary from insurer to insurer.  I was on the phone with my mom, so I didn't answer--but I had a suspicion it might've been my nurse manager...  So, really, not unknown.

The caller said they were calling from Medical Mutual and they had a program that could help with suffering from depression and anxiety disorders. I told them that they had called at a bad time.  They asked when they could call back and I told them tomorrow afternoon.  I later called the number back and it said it was a company called "Allere", not sure of spelling.  The location was Marietta, GA.

A message was left on my office voice-mail that stated that they were leaving a message for ________ _______ (person not at the organization where I work) from ______ ______ (they gave their name) who was a care coordinator for "Expansion Patient Support Program" (?).  The caller said that the person they were trying to reach had filled out a form in a physician's office.  To participate in the program the caller said to call 866-496-5427 option 4.  They talked fast and not easy to understand so I may have misunderstood the program's name.  I did a Google for that name and nothing came up.
