I keep getting hangup calls from this number, to my private residence number.  If I wait about 10 seconds, it goes to a busy signal.

These guys are real, and they are simply telemarketers.  They work for Santanna Energy, which is a company that works for Columbia.  They're offering a cheaper bill, but just don't listen to them.  I thought it was a fake one like the 404-891-5588 number that calls and claims to be from Columbia Gas at first.  But this is the REAL company.

Got a call @ 12:24pm that I did not answer because we have Dominion Gas, andI paid the last bill.

Columbia Gas??? I got a call this morning (didn't ansewr and no message) but my house is all electric. I've lived in this house for 10 years and have only had the phone number for 3.  I've never had an account with Columbia Gas.

I got a call from this numbr in response to a door-to-door sales pitch to switch my utility supplier from Duke Energy to Direct Energy.  DE and DE.  I wonder if the two are related?

For some reason, Columbia Gas has called my number four times from 8am to 8pm today and never once left a message to say why they called. My account certainly has no termination notice, so I have no idea why they keep doing it.

Here's the deal...

This is an automated system at Columbia Gas of Ohio. When an account gets flagged with a termination notice, the system calls the primary phone number on that account to notify them. It's actually done as a courtesy (and because many people don't read their gas bill).

If you call them back at the same number (from the phone that received the call, if possible), they will tell you what's going on. They do not leave a message for privacy reasons (or because their system is not sophisticated enough to realize they have reached voice-mail).

Hopefully, if you call them back from the same number and you do not have a CG-Ohio account, they will strike it from the account of the person who gave them your number. I received such a call today because of a billing error. Called them back and they straightened it right out. No problem.

BTW, nobody is actually sitting there dialing your phone number. Just computer playing a message like "If you are the party responsible for the gas bill at...".

these dorks called here 5 times today, don't leave a message. i might answer it some time just to see what they say, like who cares, really. called from 8am to 7pm. who gets paid to just keep calling the same number over and over and say nothing? What a waste of a job, just harass people, for what? this country leaves a lot to be desired.

Anything after 8AM is fair game... and unless you don't live in the real world, 8AM isn't EARLY. It's the time MOST people are at work...

I don't even have columbia gas. why would they keep calling my phone (a cell as well) repeatedly? never have had it, and don't plan on changing. maybe i should answer next time?

My payment is like 2 days late and they start calling my cell phone constantly.

Every 4 hours or so starting around 8 am and ending at 8 pm and it starts all over the next day.

Got a call from Columbia Gas @ 8:01 they let the phone ring 3 times and then hung up, no message. I called them already to set up a payment plan and made a payment I should not have had this call. Now I wonder if they did what I asked them to.

Just got a cell phone and they keep calling my number trying to collect on an account for whoever had the cell phone number before me.   I've asked them to please not call my cell phone several times, but it continues.  I'll will be having my attorney contact them next!

Yeah - I got a termination notice for budget payments (Which I did not choose to be on the budget this year) which is for almost 200 more than I acutally owe! They want to shut off my gas for gas I haven't even used yet!!!!
