How is this legal!!! I received a call today from a female identifying herself as a representative from AT&T. They identified my phone number, name and address. They stated that due to my usage of my long distance they were able to save me money by switching to a different long distance provider. I asked if this would affect my ATT service and they said they absolutely not I would still be an ATT customer, the use independent cpntractors and this would just be changing this. I again questioned if this was Att&T and they stated that yes they were.

Foolishly, I agreed, when I hung up the phone I researched the telephone number I was provided to call with any issues. There are numerous postings online about this telemarketing company who are NOT from ATT but do identify themselves as such.

I immediately called AT&T who confirmed that they have had numerous customers reports this telemarketing scam. Thankfully, due to my gut feelings I was able to block the work order to change the provider and my line will not be affected.

DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE I MADE

Made the mistake and fell for the lie about reducing long distance phone rates.  They claimed that they were with AT&T. They got me on third party agreement but that was due only because of fraud and deception.

Got phone call soliciting me that my current long distance provider needed to change the long distance services to their customers.  One hour of headache of calling people to get things fixed.  Don't trust these rude people.  Thanks to this website for posting this important information that is important to consumers.
