I don't have a clue as to who this is or why they keep calling me because I NEVER answer any unidentified callers.  If this is a debt collector (don't know of any outstanding debts) they should have the decency to show who they are on caller ID and I would try to resolve any problems.  I'm sure it's the same caller who after the first call showing as "Toll Free Call 800-348-3304" then calls come in from "Kansas City KS 913-232-2506" and finally I think it's them who disguises as "Unknown Caller" and "Out Of Area".  It they'd identify themselves as CBE Group, then I'd answer and see what they have to say but according to other reports here, they only use a recorded message saying to call them at xxx-xxx-xxxx.  How trustworthy is a company who hides or spoofs their phone number??

I have no debt problems, so I knew they did not want me. I thought I would post my experience.....

I took the advice of a previous poster, and called CBE Group head office at 800-925-6686. Spoke to a nice lady there and she put me through to the person who could remove my name. I spoke to another pleasant lady and I explained that whoever they are looking for, it is not me, so please stop calling. She asked for my phone number and then asked me if I knew a person called "xxxxx   xxxxx" and I said "No". So she said she would have my number removed from the list. That was over 48 hours ago and after getting 2 to 3 calls a day, I have not had a single call since! YAY!

I was furious about all the calls I was getting, but decided to be pleasant to them, and they were pleasant to me, so it was all resolved in a very civilized manner.

If this is a debt collection, I don't know why they are calling me since I don't owe any debts.  They called at 9:00 p.m.  Of course no message was left.

Just got this new phone and number approx. 5 weeks ago so have no clue who this would be..Apparently it is from MCI, which I've never had...This is a straight talk phone..

I've gotten calls form this company and two separate occasions. Each time I got fed up (after several weeks) and called them back. The first time they were calling to find out if I knew someone who lived on my street!!! I did recognize the name but didn't tell them that. The second time they were calling for a distant relative (same unusual last name)! I don't even know him!

I don't have caller ID but I get this call just about once a day, they don't ask for anyone in particular. Just "This call is from the CDE Group, a debt collector. Please return my call at 1-800-348-3304. Thank you!"
I have not called them back. I am 60 yrs old with very little financial resources and there was a hospital bill from 8 years ago that I could not pay, but they stopped billing me after about 3 yrs. I am afraid to call this collector to tell them to remove my number in case it could be my debt they are calling for but I really want them to stop calling!

I get calls and I have no credit issues...Sometimes it is a Detective Deavers or a female and it's funny to me because they "rough up" their voices as if they are trying to intimidate me.  I hit delete and keep it moving.

It's a call from a collection agency on behalf of Verizon.  They're spending more money on calls than the amount owed???  

Yeah, I've been researching these scum bags.   They've completely ignored my cease and desist letters sent by registered return receipt.  I don't owe anybody a dime and they have the wrong person but won't give up.  They say they have the right person so I ask for proof of the debt both in writing and verbally and they send nothing. They just continue to threaten and harass me with their phone calls.  I've had my last call from them and have blocked all of their numbers I can find.  I know mistakes happen but these CBE Group jokers are ridiculous and way over the line.  I'm now handing my registered letters, phone logs and notes over to an attorney (which I now have to take additional time to find one) and ask them to sue these scum bags to the fullest extent of the law. This has been happening for over a year now and I don't care what it costs me to prosecute and hopefully the court will make them pay my attorney fees and I might get some cash out of the deal for all of my time.  I hate these scum bags.  They need to go back to school and get a brain!

Keep getting recorded messages from this company. Once I answer they say, please hold for a call from CBC group.  I hang up.  My credit is top notch and I do not owe anything.

They call and wake me up at all hours. They have no idea who they call. They are asking for someone else and wont stop. I have to use strong language to get them off the phone but they will call me back a few days later.... they are a**-holes

turns out to be a collection agency working on behalf of Verizon Wireless.

It's a collection call.  Either A) You owe money to Verizon Wireless/MCI or B) They have the wrong number due to a faulty skip trace or C) Someone GAVE your number to them to avoid debt.

People, You need to comer to know 3rd party bill collectors are hired by companies to collect debts from people they claim owe them money. Often these claims are not true. They hire Bottom Feeder scumbags like CBE GROUP to prey on ignorant people and count on that ignorance to make them pay. Folks, CBE GROUP is an example of 3rd pary collectors. They have no ability to collect money from anyone because no money is owed to them. So they have no legal ability to collect. They simply buy the rights to harass via repeated phone calls at all hours and these calls are pre-recorded and give you no chance to say a word. This is ILLEGAL! It is a crime! Report is to your state attorney general! Harrassment is a crime!! Get actice in ecposing these a***ole scumbags ! If you can afford it file a law suit against them. Make them Pay!! Nobody is going to take you to court for under $500. worth of debt and few will for less than $3,000. Now in some cases these collectors may get the court to put a lien on your property and then you cant sell it until you pay the lien which accumulates interest and interest upon interest which can balloon to a big amount in a few years. A 3rd party claim will NOT result in this lien. If you have no assets like me no court can get money out of you no matter what. 3rd party collection  agencies buy debts for a small percentage of that debt with the agreement they get to keep any and all they collect. every morning i get a call that displays on my caller id as PRIVACYDIRECTOR and the phone number is 770-483-9708, when answer the call i get a recorded message instructing me to call 1-800-348-3304. when call that number i get a recorded message saying all reps busy and to try calling back in 15 mins.

i have no idea why they would be calling me and then they want me to keep trying to call every 15 mins.  these people are pretty bold and rude.

I just got a call from these folks, about someone else with my same name.  The have a different address and city, and the guy said "Sorry, must have been a wrong number."  Now we'll see if they leave me alone.

The House Ways and Means Committee conducted a hearing recently and played this ABSURD and DISGRACEFUL tactic used by the CBE Group.

The representative of CBE repeatedly asked the taxpayer for digits of his social security number, even resorting to asking for ?the middle two digits.? The taxpayer, rightfully concerned about identity theft and the evasiveness of the information being provided by the CBE representative, eventually gave up trying to figure out what the phone call was about and

A Des Moines bill collector who insulted and belittled people while demanding payments for their creditors has been fired.

Justin Saiz, 29, was a supervisor in the debt collection department of the CBE Group, a company that helps corporate clients, such as credit card companies, collect money from borrowers.

Saiz worked for the company from January 2005 through April of this year when he was fired for violating the federal consumer protection law known as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

A female voice named Erica keeps calling me from 319-274-1907 asking me to call her at 1-800-348-3304. She leaves no company name or even who she would like to speak to. I'm on the do not call list.  Unlisted and protected number via court order. I've only had this number less than a month and now this person is harassing me non stop.  I've contacted my lawyer and phone company to track down the issue. So far a trap and trace is on the line and we will see where this goes.  As far as I'm concerned it appears to be a stalker.

This is the second time MCI has doen this to me, I also have never signed up and never will!

I get a phone call from this erica person several times a day.  I have never called it and never will, because they do not leave any information as to what they want or why they are leaving the message.  THIS IS HARASSMENT!
