Calling about my account (which I don't have with them). They gave me a list of zip codes to identify myself by and none of them are mine.

THIS NUMBER IS CALLING MY DAUGHTERS CELL PHONE- WHOM IS A MINOR 3 TIMES PER DAY. THEY LEAVE NO MESSAGE. WE OWE NO ONE MONEY.
Allan 2014-03-07 00:55:31 Unknown
It's a scam. Just block the number. They're fishing for your information and if you call and provide what they ask you for it'll only lead to more annoying calls.

This company is calling every hour of the day. Even early morning on the weekends. I want it to stop immediately
Bunny 2014-02-01 16:56:12 Unknown
These people use many different phone numbers, they are from G E banks, which handle Care credit, Walmart, and other credit cards- they will tell you you are late so much money and ask if you want to electronically pay- DONT DO IT!!!!!
There is no way to block them because they use many different numbers. The minute I hear the recording now I just hang up!
Someone should definitely look into this, I am on a no call list, but apparently it is useless. Good luck and try and be patient and ignore this stuff, I'm hoping it will go away by itself!!!! Lots of luck-

Keep getting calls from this number two to three times a day on my mobile looking for someone with the last name as me. It's a pre-recorded message with apparently no way to talk to someone to take me off the list. I've tried pressing virtually every number on the keypad like 0, *, #, 9, 1, etc. any of the typical usual ways to get an operated to tell them they have the wrong number, but to no avail. How can I make them stop calling me?

Capitoi one G.e. Bank left a message saying I should call immediately about my account-I did, it was all a recording and finally said you owe $109.oo would you like to pay electronically-sure fire scam to fraud, I called Capital one Customer service and they said they would never call and that is not a number for any of their contacts, I am calling fraud dept., also contacting
Transunion to tag my info with an alert!
DJP 2014-01-24 17:22:34 Unknown
I have received multiple voice messages identifying the caller as "GE Capital Retail Bank."
I do not have any accounts with this company, however have done business with Capital One (similar name?).
In calling the requested phone number (1-800-355-5443) I was connected with an automated system that asked me to enter my zip code and other information before ever identifying what the call was regarding etc. I did not give any info and instead called Capital One fraud department who verified that GE Capital is an actual company and provided me with the company contact number. In speaking with the GE Capital Retail Bank fraud department, they verified that there are no current or pending accounts registered in my name and there is no record of "important calls" having been made to me.
I am currently addressing another fraudulent situation with "PayMeLater" (a pro ported) "service" of PayPal (which I have not done business with in years), so am on alert for phishing scams.
Whatever information/recommendations you can regarding this current scam would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

How does someone call out the blue never heard of these people before haven't received any notices in the mail so To me these are scammers
jim 2013-12-13 09:24:18 Unknown
That's not what's going on...There a phishing group will call you to try to get you to prove who you are to get your data. There could be 250 operator's in a room each calls logs any data about you to build a file of your data you give them trying to get them to stop calling you. You will not get off there list. It called "Time vs Work" sooner or latter you'll prove your xyz and then they will have your ID data to get bank etc.

I got two calls today. Left msg that i should call immediately. I don't owe GE Capital any money. All my bills are paid on time or early so this is a scam to get info about someone else...most likely a debt collector. Go away! I'm NOT a criminal but you need to stop harrassing innocent people.
Jae 2013-11-21 14:14:02 Unknown
Numerous calls and no messages left. I called it back today and it says GE Retail Bank. I have no clue what they want but I have only had this number for 5 months.
Anonymous 2013-11-18 02:53:48 Unknown
If you don't want them to call you, then talk to them about it. Don't just let the phone go to voice mail. Either answer and get things straightened out, or call them and talk to them. Also, take a chill pill.

Legitimate phone call from GE Capital, they did not leave a message but when I called back and went through the information it was all correct. It was from a debit card from a couch I purchased.

I have been getting two calls every day from 800-355-5443. The number finally left a message saying that it was GE Capital something regarding a company with which I have an account. I answered the next call and was told to press any key, so I pressed zero. Then the computer voice told me to prove who I am by choosing my zip code from a list of zip codes. Suspecting a phishing scheme, I hung up. I wouldn't particularly mind the calls except that the b*****ds woke me up this morning, which I hated on my day off. I once heard that if one curses out a telemarketer and specifically uses the F word, one's name will be crossed off that company's call list. It worked for me with Vonage, but a computer answers instead of a real person. WTF?

I got this number and saw here where it was GE. Well, my GE account is with Care Credit (dental credit card). So it may be the same for some of you.

I have never had an account with GE Bank. They have been calling my phone number relentlessly, every 2 hours from I've recorded 4 different phone numbers thus far, for 2 weeks, every day from 7:35 a.m to 9pm. at night.
Finally, this morning, I answer the call. a recording. I call the number, go through a rigamorrow but finally get through to a live person by the name of Michael. Sounded American. I tell him firmly, not shouting but firmly, "Your company has been calling my phone number incessently every day for 2 weeks, I've never had an account with you and I've never heard of your company until receiving these harrassing phone calls. This phone call is being recorded so, I know my statement is clear, "Do Not Call This phone number any more. I am disabled and this is harrassment. I repeated I do not have an account with you and you need to remove my name from your calling list immediately" The person "Michael" had hung up.
I've received 2 more calls today, last one at 8:15p.m. I want to know what I can do to hold these people accountable legally.
I can't imagine any company allowed to get away with these type practices.

Duane, if you have no problem with the caller, why take the time to post?!?!?! Collusion?!?!?!
Duane 2013-07-10 12:45:13 Event Reminder
Relax people. It's GE. There's a due date for payments and if a payment is not made before this date they make an automatic call reminder. That's all it is. Just a reminder. A lot of these GE credit loans have no interest if paid within a specific time (and a LOT of interest is charged if it is not paid within that agreed upon time) so these reminders are suppose to help you save money so lighten up. Jeez....
