Just got a call from this number. "Laurie" left a message asking someone to call her. She was looking for (my name)'s contact number and address. Obviously I will not be calling them back!

Left message on machine for Judith ?  No one here by that name.  They have called 3 times in the past week.  Blocked the caller.  They don't take 'no' that you are not that person so it's best not to answer.  Never call back because, by law, they can continue to call you.  Why?  Because you contacted them.  Dumb law.

My son gets these calls from a collection agency. They have gone as far as telling me that if my son doesn't call back then they will send the sheriff after him. And when he did they threatened to come after him. How can these IDIOTS get away with these kind of threats?

WELL, since you asked.....  1 - Change your land line or cellular number (whichever you're getting harrassed on).  Tell the phone company you wish to have a dead or never issued number and make SURE it is unlisted and unpublished.      2 -  Get a local GOOGLE VOICE number for your area (GOOGLE VOICE is free and allows you to make unlimited LD USA calls as well at no cost)  Forward all calls coming into the GV number to your new number.  Give out this GOOGLE number exclusively and NEVER tell anybody besides family what your actual number is.  Google Voice will help you shield your true number and has many nice blocking features if needed.     3 - Lastly, get a Digitone Call Blocker 10 from Digitone.com.  Connect this to your land line and then even if calls get through GOOGLE VOICE you can block them before they ring your phone.  And with the Digitone you can even block whole area codes.  Get rid of all those 800 numbers in one shot.    YOU WILL FIND this triple layer defense works quite well.  :--)

My employer gave me a new cell phone and apparently the former owner was on their list.  Called in and spoke with Brandy, she said she'd remove my number from their list.  She was very pleasant.  we'll see if they stop calling.

Ummm...they can't be ex-cons because they are workig with social security numbers and personal information. Collection agencies won't hire people convicted of a felony.

They don't have to produce a final bill. You were already sent one. If you want that information you need to request it from the original company. A collection agency sends you a letter letting you know you have a debt.

My best advice would be to tell them they have a wrong number. If you don't tell people they have a wrong number then they don't know it. They are probably looking for the person that had the phone number before your son.

These people have been calling for well over a year-looking for people unknown and unrelated to me.  I have asked to have my name removed, am on the Do Not Call list, and have filed a complaint, about them several times.  It has gotten me nowhere.  Just got off of the phone with the Miralcle Network-said they can't do anything, because they don't have a 'reference number.'  She said you must have
'call forwarding.'  I said that I do not.  I have had as many as five calls in 5 minutes-it appears it is okay to harrass me, but I get the rude treatment trying to stop this nightmare. Any suggestions?  The phone calls are endless!

You are incorrect in the statement "If you pay your bills, then debt collectors will not call you". My brain-injured son receives calls from this number on his new cell phone b/c apparently the previous owner of that number had problems paying their bills. Not us!

They just called wanting me to pay an old Verizon bill for about $200. They gave me a number to contact Verizon to validate the debt to be paid to Miracle. I confirmed that the Verizon number was legit and was able to pay Verizon directly. Then I had the pleasure of calling these rude people back to tell them that I had already paid Verizon, which they said I would not be able to do. I totally rubbed it in and it felt great. And a tip in case any of the folks from Miracle check this board, please, ladies, switch to lights and don't eat while on the phone.

So unprofessional.

Some deadbeat family previously had our phone number and we got all kinds of calls from debt collectors.  I blocked them with Verizon iobi which worked prety well.  However, Verizon recently discontinued the service and the calls started up again.  I just bought a Digitone Call Blocker 10 call blocker from www.digitone.com which I will use to block all of the bottom feeding vermin.

File complaints with the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office this company Miracle Financial does not abide by Federal Laws and Regulations.  Keeps calling my house after numerous notifications that the person they are looking for does not and has never lived at my home.  There response was very rude and kept asking who I was?  I told them but they would not give me their name to include in my formal complaint to the Attorney General's office.  And they will not let you talk to the president or leave a voicemail because they do not have voicemail.  What large company does not have voicemail?  What a bunch of low-life crooks.   These people spend so much time trying to track down people that have no intention of paying their debts and will harrass anyone they can even when they are no remotely connected to the person they are looking for.  Keep in mind that most of the people that work these jobs are in more debt than the people they are looking for and are often ex-cons.

This is a rude collection agency - they called me on behalf of a $60 overdue balance I owed to Verizon Wireless that was sent to colelctions for no reason.  I already settled the issue with Verizon, told them that, they got nasty with me trying to get paid and then hung up on me.

this is verizon wireless. I hated there service so much that I terminated my contract early. I was paying both home phone and wireless in one bill. I paid off the entire balance but Verizon land line did not pay verizon wireless and so they are dunning me.

I am happy with AT-T and I love my IPHONE> Verizon is a necessary evil to some. Thank God I no longer have them. Now all I need to do is to get them to stop calling.
