I just talked with Navy Federal and they confirmed it is legitimate.  I expressed frustration that an unknown caller type approach I will not answer.  In the long run, they messed up account linkages and had to refund late charge of $29 and reset account preferences.  Anyway - call is legit.

Yes, I completely agree. As a former employee of NFCU, the correct number is 1-800-842-6328. I got 2 phone calls from this scam today. I have blocked this number for good.

You need to stop posting that this is legitimate and not a scam. NFCU would never contact a member this way - first would be through the mail, stating you are delinquent. THIS IS A SCAM!

Its the Navy Federal Credit union and they need a big class action lawsuit filed against them. They call my number 10 times a day looking for some guy...who he is I don't know but its not me and its a robo call. There must be a law prohibiting this kind of harassment for sure.

This IS a SCAM. I just verified with NFCU that this number does NOT belong to them. And after verifying this, I would also say that the persons posting here claiming that it IS a legit NFCU number are probably the scammers themselves. DO NOT deal with this number. Call NFCU here. 888-842-6328.

This is a legit number from Navy Fed. They called because I was 5 days late on a payment.

This is not NFCU. It is a telemarketer/scammer out to get your info. Don't deal with them. NFCU won't auto call you.

If it was actually navy federal they wouldn't have just called my number twice with in 10 min. Like any reputable business that is trying to reach you for a debt you owe on they would wait a respectable amount of time then call back. Twice with in a 10 min window could be construed as harassment to many people.

I just got off the phone with NAVY Fed and tconfirmedrmed this is their number.  Or at least ONE of them.  So after I got off the phone with them I called THAT particular number back ancomputeruter recording answered.  The ONLY thing it asked were these things (None were for personal information, By The Way Einstein)

1) Are you "such and such" if not press 3
2) to help verify who you say you are, what's your Zip Code

Then they asked,
wanto you wnat to make a payment
20 schedule a payment
3)Have already mailed in a payment
4) talk to someone in Customer Service

They knew that I was late on a payment because I found out we were a week overdue on a line of credit the night before and paid using a transfer.  No SCAMMER is already going to know that you're late on a payment and that you back with this particular Credit Union.

Oh WAIT..........................sure they would (If THEY ARE legitimate)  Which they are by the way.

so STOP TROLLING and telling people you've called this number for 2 years and that they are Scammers.


PEOPLE if you are so worried about this number being fake, just use the NAVY Fed phone number that you have and these people can help you out and let you know why they were calling in the first place.

in-factssured that it is infact NFCU.  They do not play around when you go over your due date.  It's not even 30 days late but I guess because they give such HUGE Credit Limits they want to stay on top of anyone forgetting their payment or whatever.

Listen guys..............................this number 1(800) 370-6324 is a legitimate number.  It's NAVY Federal Credit Union and the REASON they are calling is that you are at least 5 days PAST your DUE DATE on either one of the following, a CREDIT CARD, your NavChek (now called Line Of Credit), Personal loan, Business loan, House payment or automobile payment.

The people that are saying it's scammers are just TROLLING you trying to get you scared to even answer the phone and just getting their kicks but they are LYING to you.

The number Navy Fed called is the Number they have on record for you. I just got off the phone with them.  My wife was actually 7 days past her "due Date" on her Line of Credit.  The funny thing is that i realized this last night and PAID ONLINE more than what was due.  

But they called today anyway.

So I didn't answer that phone and came here insttead.  Saw that the last poster said it was NFCU for real and then I called back and it was a recording.  The recording asked if this "XXXXX "push number 5.  So then, they said, "To confirm this punch in your zip code"  I did that and it said we are calling about XXXXX account.  (mind you this is ALL A COMPUTER  RECORDING, BTW)

They said
1) would you like to make a payment for XXX
2) Would you like to schedule a payment for XXX
3) Press if you have ALREADY mailed in your payment    OR
4) Press if you like to speak with a Customer service Rep


So all I did was PRESS 3 (that I had already paid) and they said "thank you choosing Navy Federal Credit Union for your financial Needs".


They DID NOT ask me for ANY personal informaiton, AT ALL.  They did NOT ask for my social Security number or anything except my ZIP CODE to verify that it was who they thought it was.

I don't know WHY people want to lie and leave dishonest posts on this site.  It's here to help people find out who's calling for them.

Also, you shouldn't be scared to call them back, all you do is talk to their Computer to make arrangements.  Just make arrangments to pay your bill or at least say you mailed it and the calls will STOP coming.

It's Navy Federal - its a legit number.  If you are behind on a loan payment - even by a few days- they call.  They don't harass you- they try to work with you.  Mine was on the credit card I have with them.  If they have your number by mistake- then you need to call the number that called you- and let them know that they have the wrong person.  

So I've been called by this company off and on for the last two years.  They say they're Navy Federal Credit Union and keep asking for "Vanessa M" (I know the last name, not going to put it on the internet because this fake number might find it and start bugging me more).  I have no idea who that is -- they got the wrong name with my number apparently.

Navy Federal Credit Union is likely not this company.  I called the REAL NFCU and they said they have no record of my name or Vanessa M.  I couldn't find Vanessa on the web either, although I did find the family name popping up everywhere.

This is likely a scam trying to get your credit card info.  Thieving b*****ds.  I'm going look into what I can do to screw them up, because it's really the worst kind of scam -- one that's really really realistic or devious.  DO NOT GIVE THESE GUYS YOUR INFO! CHECK WITH THE REAL CREDIT UNION BEFORE YOU ANSWER THIS NUMBER!

I verified with Navy Federal Credit Union (12 April 2012) that it was in fact a scam number.  Please, fight the information thieves and do not even verify that it is you when they ask you to press any key (they can then associate your phone number with your name...step 1 in identity theft).

It is Navy Federal Credit Union. They call from this number if you are late on your loan payments as I am. But it is actually a legit number and a legit reason for calling.

They are a company claiming to be Navy Federal Credit union.  Do not give any information.  I called my bank and they confirmied it was not them nor did they ever ask for any info like that.

Navy Federal Credit Union, calling to find out about payments you have for a loan with them.  Usually because you're behind.  You'll get one call for each loan - I have two auto loans I'm a month behind on and I get two calls, back to back.

They have called my son's cell phone many times a day. I typed the number into 411.com reverse phone number and this is what I got.

I called the first number and a recording said that they were not available so I left a message. I told them the number that they were calling was a child's cell phone and that they needed to stop calling. Hopefully they will stop calling now.  This is harrassment. The person that they are calling for we have never heard of.
