I got the following text message: ([smiONEGeorgiaDFCS]) Call: 800 997 0065 Immediately. 478655XXXXXXXXXX AcctIssue. When I call back I get fast busy, not sure what this is about.

have received 3 of these texts.   sounded fishy.  did not respond.  should be some way we can block unwanted texts ourself from our phone.

its a scam i work for a bank ive had 3 calls about this issue already

We received the same trash. My SO thought it was real and ask me to look into it.   I notified Verizon and FCC.  We're in Tenn.  Thanks to everyone for speaking up and sharing this problem.  It is easy for some to get suckered but we're hard to fool when we work together.

I live in Florida, from Johnstown, have 814 area code and received the same message.

I got the same text and when I called they asked for the last 4 digits of my SS#  I hung up realizing it was a scam...

I got the same text message today too from smi ONEGEORGIA DFCS

Scam on verizon users; have forwarded to them for investigation.  DO NO respond to email.

My husband got a text from this number and it said Georgia DFCS and call immediately, so he thought something was happening with our kids.  Now it's ringing busy constantly.  Obviously a scam since there are so many reports on here.  We live in Georgia and also have Verizon.

Contact your cell carrier and report the number as a nuisance number and request it be blocked. Inquire if they offer a service to black list numbers so they can not call or message you at all, Verizon lets you block up to 5 for free.
Also inquire if you can forward the text to 7726 aka SPAM:

"Do not respond to unwanted texts or emails from questionable sources. Several mobile service providers will allow you to forward unwanted spam texts by simply texting it to 7726 (or ?SPAM?) to enable the providers to prevent future unwanted texts from the specific sender. "

If you have a smart phone, there are many anti-spam apps. Check your phone's app store.

Also, @vtext.com is a free web-2-text message system on Verizon's website that anyone can use, which includes scammers.

Received same exact msg at 11:02 today. These folks must be targeting Wilm as well.

I am in Wilmington, NC and received a text from 910612@vtext.com (those are the first 6 numbers of my phone number) telling me to call 800-997-0065 immediately. 478655XXXXAcctIssue.
I did not call.

I got the same message and I have lived in NC all my life. No Pittsburgh connection. But I am on Verizon. I did not fall for it and i hope no one else does either. SCAM!
