Just got off the phone with Verizon WIreless and confirmed the previous message, it is a scam.

They pretend to be Verizon

I got a call from 1 800 382 7114 and when connected it went to Auto Bill Pay. I hung up and called Verizon.  It is a scam number....

I also got an initial call from 206-315-3010. It seemed to me a scam, so I checked it out online and got the info that I was right. After numerous further voice mail calls, I dialed the number and, when asked to provide my cell number, repeatedly put in a phony phone number, just to tie their system up. I finally got a voice message asking me to dial 800-382-7114.  It's all part of the same scam.

On December 8, 2012 received txt msg to call 1-800-382-7114. This number wanted a pmt amount. Called Verizon and they called this number while I was on hold and came back on line to tell me this is a scam and that she was reporting it to her supervisor. Do not put in a pmt amount. This is a reported scam! Please turn this into Verizon immediately if you receive this type of message!

I was first contacted by 1-206-315-3010 and it said it was the Verizon message center and they had a message for me, they even used my name.  When I couldn't retrieve the message they prompted me to call the 800-382-7114 to do an automatic payment.  I called the real Verizon number and they told me it is a phishing scam.

This is a number Verizon leaves as a call back number when they are trying to get in touch with you in order to pay your pass due bill.  I did not know I was two months behind and I called the number only to find out I missed last months bill.  Oops!

I completely agree it is a scam, "0" doesn't get an operator.

I was told in a text to call 800-249-2462, when I did and wouldn't punch in my phone #, it prompted me to call this #800-382-7114 and asked only the same question. It disconnected after not receiving the information.

I think that Verizon needs to put out a statement stating the particular ways to be contacte by them and clear up the "bad calls & texts"

it is a scam if you call 800-382-7114. i was first contacted by 248-915-3797, which appears to also be a scam. They are not a part of Verizon Wireless.
