Called and said it was a personal matter. Does not come up on caller id even though "Jack Gray" asked if it came up.

In the State of Texas, only one party must be aware that a telephone call is being recorded. If you are in Texas, you count as the party knowing the call is being recorded. Give em hell.

These people called (my elderly mother in law) to say they were a lawyers &  was getting sued on a debt. They had my m-i-law name & SS #, my # & someones elses address. I then calmed her down & said give me the info & i'll call them. Talked to a person named Jill, she claimed we were getting sued over a water bill. I said well I live in this area & we dont have a water bill. ( E/G/W/Sewer are rolled into one) Though our city,  after doing my homework found that the debt was an old electric bill from some renters of mine. I said I would take responsibility of the debt but want "proof of debt". Jill went on to tell me that they had just received this debt within the last month from "IC SYSTEMS" & had sent a letter to us & they didn't need to send another. I went on to tell them I/ we had not received anything & where did it go. She went onto me an address I had never heard of. I then gave them my address to please send me the info/account numbers, ect. That I had no issue paying that I just wanted PROOF. She then asked if I was paying the bill & then said again I wanted to have something in writing. She asked for the payment method & I gave her a debt number.  That they had to have something on file. She said that the invoice would be there before the payment was to be taken. ($25 weekly) I was not giving more at a time. The week went by & no paper work ie PROOF. They were sure on the phone Monday morning because I didn't get papers in the mail nor did they get the money. I said that i still hadn't received  the proof of debt. she moved the payment date to the next Monday & said that they were slow sending out stuff. then later call me back to say she was mis informed & that there would not any paper work until the debt was paid. I said well I'm not going to send four hundred dollars to hope for a PAID IN FULL letter. She then yelled at me (which she is really good at), informed me that they were not & didn't have to send anymore bills & this needed to be taken care of now. I reminded her that I or anyone had never received a letter about this debt from the collections company (IC SYSTEMS) or their law firm. She said well they sent it out & it didn't come back so it was delivered. Thus they didn't have to resend anything. I said let me talk to one of the lawyers, she said that they didn't have time for someone like me. that they have asst for things like that, & that's what she was. Her supervisor wasn't there. I said then have her call me. Thinking it would get better. The next morning I called the IC SYSTEMS thinking i could get something from them, NOPE! After a few the lady said they didnt have the file & that she couldn't help me. To deal with G&L, they must be next door to each other. Later the super called me & basically repeated the same as JILL but RUDER, then went on to say she wasn't not going to ask her lawyer to sit down & waste their time to write me a letter proving who they were & the bill was real. Then said that I was refusing to pay the debt. I said no that I once again I will pay for it but with proof of the debt. She then again was vulger & said so this is refusing to pay? Lord, tell JILL the payment will be there. Help me, seems that PROOF OF DEBT should be a legal thing. This company is going to kill someone with their tacktics.

Received a call from Tom Waters from Goggins and Lavintman Law Firm asking for (my granddaughter).  I asked what it was regarding - his only response was "it is a personal matter".  He asked me to give my granddaughter a message, gave me his phone # and an extension # and the name of his company.  At the end I was going to request that he not call this number again, as it was my work number - he literally went off the deep end - was extremely rude and unprofessional, saying he was trying to be nice and that I was getting overly angry, just don't even give her the message, and he would never call this number again, then said very rude "try your very best to have a good day" and hung up on me.  I did call the number back, Tom answered the phone (did not have to use the extension #) - Itried to explain that I was not upset with him for having made the call to this number and . . . then he interrupted what I was saying and repeated it is all done, I have made a note never to call this number again, have a good day" and once again hung up.

I agree with all of what you have posted. When I told them I was going to post it on the Internet and go read about THEIR COMPANY. I stop getting the calls.

I have been a representative payee for a gentleman since May, 2011, but found out in June that he'd written about half a dozen bad checks the previous fall and hadn't told the previous payee (who was also a family friend).  The checks totaled about $120 but with the fees the businesses charged to resend them they were about more than three times that amount plus the credit union processing fees were nearly $500!  His only income is a SS disability check for $862 a month, but when I learned of the problem, he and I contacted the collection agencies.  A couple of the three checks sent to this company have been paid, but of course they can be paid only when he has enough money after his expenses.  I've been getting calls left of my voice mail (with the disclaimer that only I should listen).  I have told them not to call me.

Rob Thomas is a real jerk. He calIed a company I work for and started to insult me and demanded he talk to the owner or else! He then hung up on me!

These people are the rudest ever! I called them back to take care of my debt. Which by the way they have already cashed a check that I made on a payment towards my debt (so why are they still calling me???). IRENE SMITH is the rudest ever. She must feel important because she is a LEGAL ASSISTANT, wow it must be an exciting job to call people all day. I never once got rude but she clearly feels entilted to be extremely rude to people. It is sad that I am being a responsible person and taking care of a debt, yet she has to be so rude. Best of luck to those people in their lives, I couldn't imagine living in such misery every day.

Knowing full well, that the representatives of the Goggins & Lavintman Law Firm, are able to access any and all comments posted herein aswell, I have Not provided any personal information about myself, so as to reduce, if not preclud mind you, these Zealously Appalling Dirt Bags, with any Un-Foreseen opportunity to defend themselves, by returning fire in my direction, Period.

1.  At approximately 1130-1200 MST today, a message was left on my voice mail, from a rep named Wane G., of Goggins & Lavintman Law Firm, in Minnesota. The message started out in the following manner.

a.  "This is a personal and private call to me, and, that by my listening to said message, I am confirming that I am the party which they are looking to contact. Wayne G. was not rude when speaking, and stated a file #, which I was to make reference to when I returned his call".

2.  For the record, I am not the type of person to get Rattled at this sort of event. So Yes, I did return this persons phone call, @ 800-390-6590. However, the phone number to which Wayne G. had placed his phone call to me from is, 651-209-1825. When I had returned said call, Wayne G. had left for the day, so I spoke with Debbie G. Miss Debbie had informed me of an exceptionally large sum of money, which is owed to EBay, under my name.  I conveyed to Miss Debbie, that one, I am Not the person Gogins & Lavintman is looking for, and two, I had yet to do any business with EBay, Ever in my life time, due to, all the horror stories to which I have heard, via conversations with people across our nation, and, via several media sources as well. My next comment to Miss Debbie, was in my usual retired Old Corps, Command Voice, which consisted of a series of questions, with regard to who it exactly is, that Goggins & Lavintman Law Firm was looking for, so on and so forth. Miss Debbie was hesitant at first, to respond to my questions. However, she did provide me with enough information to my questions, in a manner which was not rude, which had left Miss Debbie, and or, anyone else from Goggins & Lavintman Law Firm, Without a legitimate avenue to pursue, with regard to any further contact with me, Period!

3.  With all the horror stories I have personally heard of, with regard to Debt Collectors, Goggins & Lavintman is among the worst of the worst. In the Grossly Inappropriate manner, which the host of Debt Collectors across our nation, continually go about doing their daily business, Goggins & Lavintman has violated not only my personal Privacy, but they are in fact, in violation of the Federal Privacy Act as well. IAW their having violated my Rights, under The Federal Privacy Act, they are also in violation of the FTC Regulations / FDCPA. Now this situation, as it pertains to Goggins & Lavintman, Shall be dealt with, in a Zealously Proficient, Decisive manner, by this True American Patriot.  

4. It is a fact of life, that we all have to deal with, that these types of people / businesses, are able to find Non-Published, home phone numbers, by utilizing a series of web site search engines, and or, computer programs, which allows them to acquire general information about a person, such as ones name, or, a name which is similar, along with a host of phone numbers, both published, and Non-Published as well. With regard to my having recorded my conversation with the representative of Goggins & Lavintman Law Firm, earlier this day. I have indeed recorded said conversation, IAW the State Law, of the state which I presently reside, whic is Legal, as long as One of the two parties knows the phone call is being recorded, when said phone call is originated from me within my home state, or, when I receive said phone call, to my Non-Published phone number within my home state.

5.  There is many a person who would attempt to tell me, that I am Not within my Rights, with regard recording a phone conversation, without my having stated to the calling party, that the call is being recorded. To this I say, "TOO BLOODY BAD"!  Ffor all those who would go about trying to tell me what I can, or cannot do, within my own home, well now, Good Luck with that.

What the representative of Goggins & Lavintman Law Firm was doing, with regard to placing a phone call to this American Patriot, well folks, that person was on a fishing expedition, and, this Old Corps American Patriot simply did Not bite. There is a phrase which comes to mind here.

I recently received a letter in the mail from this company saying I owe Verizon Wireless money.  I was told by Wayne that they would call my current employer for 65% of my pay and also I would end up paying 3 more times what I owed unless I settled.  He told me that Verizon told them I committed fraud (I majored in Criminology).  At first when I talked to Wayne he said it was medical.  Then it became I committed Fraud.  He said that I reported a check lost/Stolen and then got a new check.  In the mean time he said I cashed the first check.  How can I do that with direct deposit.  So now that I have talked to everybody and their brother from Verizon, find out none in which he is saying is true.  He was yelling at me and telling me to pay my bill and all sorts of nasty things.  I got a call into verizon who is going to talk to a supposite collection agency about the matter.  These guys are a***oles who won't listen. Oh when I asked for contact names I was not given one.

Wanted to know who owns this phone number.

MY SON  GOT A CALL FROM THIS COMPANY TODAY. THEY HAD HIS PHONE NUMBER AND MY HUSBANDS DRIVERS LICENSE NUMBER. WHEN I GOT WORRIED I CALLED THIS NUMBER. I TALKED TO A WOMAN NAME CRYSTAL. SHE INFORMED ME THAT WE HAD 3 RETURNED CHECKS FROM AN OLD CHECKING ACCOUNT. I TRIED TO TELL HER, NOBODY HAD SENT ME ANY INFORMATION, SHE PRACTICALLY CALLED ME A LIAR.SHE SAID AT FIRST, I HAD TIL END OF AUGUST (TODAY IS AUGUST 23RD) TO PAY 860.00 WHEN I ASK HER TO GIVE ME EACH CHECK AMOUNT , SHE WOULD NOT. I CALLED MY LOCAL BANK, THEY SAID I DID NOT OWE FOR ANY CHECKS WHEN I CLOSED MY ACCOUNT.I CALLED THIS CRYSTAL BACK AND LEFT A MESSAGE FOR HER TO CALL BANK AND THE BANKS NUMBER. AN HOUR LATER SHE HAD NOT CALLED BANK.  DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE, PLEASE!!!!!!!

I called these people cause i bounced a check and they had. I ask them to send me a bill to validate it. they got all upset and and said that i needed pay more then they needed the money so they were going to take my job and everything else.

they called my house phone from #651-209-1825 and left a message for my son (who doesn't live at my house).  Message said "personal and private message for Cody... Please call from Goggins and Lavintman  debt collectors at 1-800-390-6590."

We received a call 800-390-6590  and was threatened that we would be prosecuted and go to jail over a debt of 27.13 X 2 for checks that were not written, they posed as attorneys and refused to say they were a collection agency.  When I asked for a debt validation the lady became angry and started cursing and said you will pay for this.  I have never been involved in people this rude.  They are a scam collection agency.

I received a call from a person who says he is from this company. I was very civil with him and when I told him I will contact my lawyer to see where we are with a bill that ws not paid by disability, he became annoyed. He accused me of lying about having a lawyer. Keep in mind that I was not the person he was after. I happened to be an innocent bystander who answered the phone. He asked for my lawyer's number and he said he will mark that I "refused to pay." When I informed him that all matter are handeld by our lawyer since this was a disability case, he hung up before I could finish my sentence. The guy was totally unprofessional. He is under the impression that everyone on his list is a deadbeat. I can guarantee you that everything with disability goes through our lawyer.
