Oooooo...& by the way...the number he had me call back was 1-877-247-0153...the 800-397-3342 was what showed on the caller I.D.

And also, my RED FLAG #8 was when he told me that the only way to get my refund was to call him back...noone else could give me a refund for the flight because he would need to be the one to process the transaction back into my account

SCAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!
I got a phone call from this number, didn't answer but he left a voice mail. The guy sounded like he said his name was Ellis, but it was supper fast when he said his name. He had a VERY BAD & VERY FAKE Indian accent. He said that he was calling from Expedia & letting me know that part of my flight had been cancelled & I needed to confirm a new flight schedule. RED FLAG #1: I booked my flights through Travelocity!!!!! I was at a wedding at the time, so I didn't really register that fact, because I was busy with a bridal meltdown. So I called back, spoke with the guy, & he was telling me that the flight portion from Orlando to Atlanta had been cancelled on my return trip. He said he was authorized to give me one other option of a flight that was 5 hours earlier than my original flight. I told him that we could not leave at that time due to plans already made & I needed to speak directly to Air Tran if he could not offer me anything else. He told me that he was not authorized to give me a number for Air Tran (RED FLAG #2), but he could offer me a flight 3 days later. I told him we could not leave 3 days later & his only response was "Ma'am, why are you not being flexible?"...THE NERVE!!!!!! That was RED FLAG #3. I insisted that due to the fact that me and my husband work, i could not take either of his offers & I needed to speak to Air Tran & not him.  He proceeded to tell me that he needed to confirm what my options were for another flight because he didn't even speak with Air Tran when they called, someone else did, & he had to go ask them (RED FLAG #4). So I asked, "Then why didn't the other person call me instead of you?" His response, "He no longer works here." RED FLAG #5...soooooo, the guy who talked to Air Tran 1 hr ago, no longer works there, but you need to go talk to him to find out what my flight options are...hmmmmmm...YOUR AN IDIOT!!!!! Anyways, he came back with the same options, & I insisted that he let me speak with Air Tran. He said he had to get authorization to give me Air Tran's phone number (RED FLAG #6)...as far as I know, there IS a website I can get that number from. He gave me a number for Air Tran (1-800-247-8726) & told me to speak ONLY with Adrien who's "Agent Sign # thingy" (his exact words) was 187. RED FLAG #7...very unprofessional lingo, & most people give you confirmation numbers, b/c you are not guaranteed to get that particular person.
ANYWAYS!!!!!! I was smart enough to check my confirmation email & checked my itinerary on the website which showed no cancellations. So I called TRAVELOCITY & asked if they had any documentation that they had called me, she said there was no documentation. I asked why Expedia would have called me, she said they were not affiliated with any other online booking companies, so they would NOT have called me. She also said that my flights were showing all confirmed & even gave me a confirmation number & told me to check on Air Tran's website myself to prove confirmation.
SCAM & POSSIBLE IDENTITY THEFT POTENTIAL AVERTED!!!!!

Prank Call
We have just had this happen on a hotel.com booking.  Hotel.com sent an email confirming booking with booking ref and statement that they had taken money off my card.  Then we had various phone messages and e-mails from Lodge ops which initially had no headers then had expedia and hotels.com headers which looked more authentic.  My concern is that I was given what they said was a uk telephone number and went through to someone in USA.  Was also given the number quoted above to call.  When I called hotel.com number the booking was confirmed.  If anyone has called the bogus numbers have they got a phone bill yet?

I got an e-mail stating my flight could not be processed.  Since I had already received a confirmation e-mail from Expedia the evening before.   I called the number on my Expedia confirmation e-mail.   I was told everything was fine with my booking and was sent a SECOND Confirmation e-mail to verify the booking..
I called Citibank  the charges had been added to my account.
About an hour later I get a call from 800-397-3342 telling me there is a problem with my Flight booking.   I said every thing is fine.   She wanted me to check the e-mail that SHE had sent.   I told her " I don't trust you.   I have TWO confirmation e-mails from Expedia and I have spoken with them in the past hour.   I told her that She was a lying SCAMMER.
TOLD HER i WILL BE CALLING EXPEDIA AGAIN AS SOON AS I HANG UP ON YOU!!!!
She tried to tell me that a section of the flight between Bombay and Varanisi was the only part affected!!     Everything else was booked !  YEAH RIGHT!!!

DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER ON THEIR E-MAIL.  Call the number on your Expedia Confirmation E-MAIL!!!

Said it was Expedia. They told me that my flight reservations from Pittsburgh to Seattle had been cancelled. I was told that there were no flights out of Pittsburgh. Wanted to reschedule.
I said no I would take care of it. The caller said that my ticket price would be refunded to my credit card. No numbers were exchanged.

They tried to call me this morning and left a voice message.  Previously I had had a spam email quoting the same number purporting to be Expedia (lodgops@expedia.com).  A right pain.  The email pretended that my hotel booking had been cancelled and could I please ring them so they could offer me alternatives.  I fell for it and booked another hotel (not via them though).  Transpires that my booking was fine; it had not been cancelled at all.  Lady quotes her name as Maria or Marie - couldn't quite catch it.

Whoever these a***oles are, they're persistent.  Every time they call, the phone rings at least 20 times.  I hope they rot in hell.
