According to the FTC, they have prosecuted less than 150 cases against telemarketing companies violating the Do Not Call List since its inception.  That?s unacceptable!!!  It?s going to take private citizens suing telemarketers to stop the calls.  A few multi-million dollar judgments should do the trick. My brother is an attorney who works for a consumer-protection law firm pursuing lawsuits against telemarketers to stop the harassment.  I?ll be happy to put you in touch if you want to take action and stop this nonsense.  He?ll talk to you for free and I?m sure he would be happy to help you.  (five 12) 538 80seventy

always calls --leaves no message

Just received a call from this number-again. It has been showing up on me phone every few days for awhile now. The caller offered me additional channels with DirecTV for the summer free of charge. He said at the end of the summer the channels would go away and I did not have to call and cancel to avoid being charged. I called DTV and was told told this was legit but the free channels were for 3 months and I DID have to call at the end of the time to cancel. If I did not call I would be billed. Told them to forget it. Beware! Agreeing to this can cost you!!

So, I called the number back, and went through the same procedure (*H, waited for prompts, etc.)  I got a woman who asked for my postal code!  She said they are Direct Energy, located in Canada, are not telemarketers.,.and that we must have financed a water heater (which we have not!) She gave me a number to call for my state.
So annoying!

Just block the number.. its been calling me everyday for a week. I never answer they never leave a message.

I also get these calls daily.  I also have Direct TV.   I don't think Do Not Call works.  Telemarketers just ignore it.

Same Thing. "DirecTv" calling about a promotion. Free upgrade to channels for 3 months. When I started asking questions the person on the line hung up.

Same as "Sick of these people" from 3/6/13..going on 2 wks now and I have tried to answer the last 4 times without someone answering back..just goes to dialtone..so I did same thing, called # back get the it's "DirectTv" msg and then the "mailbox full" msg...waited for prompts, typed in the name "smith", reached Christopher Smiths voicemail, got the "press 0 for more help" and was connected to DirectEnergy's customer service department..their real # is 8005714900 (for usa) and I called and explained all this to their help department and told them I think their network is being hijacked or that they have hired some other 3rd party outfit to sell their services in an unscrupulous manner..she put me on the "do not call" list but I don't know if this will help..If they keep calling, (and I hope they do) I intend to keep answering this # in hopes someone on the other end will speak and in which I will feign interest & be polite to get more info..I DO NOT think this # has ANYTHING to do w/Direct Tv and maybe not even Direct Energy but after a long, polite conversation with them in which they actually called the number and duplicated all that we have been thru, that they would refer it to their telecom & I.T. departments

got sick of calls everyday...even when I answered nobody talked & it went to dial tone..call # back and receive "DirectTv" (of which I AM a subscriber) and then the "mailbox full"...followed some of the prompts after THAT message and entered the name "Smith" which took me to voicemail of a Christopher Smith..it also said said for further assistance dial #0..think it said "connecting to ext "70303" which put me on with a csr rep named Ashley who was polite (because I was) and she said she is with "Directenergy"..asked her why this # calls my house all the time and when you dial back it says DirectTv and mailbox full & she said she did not know what I was talking about..I asked for their REAL # and she said 800-266-3939 and that they have a website directenergy.com...I am going to investigate both and try & get removed from list and yell @ some people for the fun of it so I that I can annoy them as much as they annoy me...I may call them everyday..thankfully I have a Digitone Call blocker which is the best $100 I ever spent (you can block an entire Area Code as well as individual #'s) but as I am retired, I'm going to spend some time annoying them before I block them

This number has been calling multiple times a day.  I managed to answer and no one answered back.  So I announced that this number is on a Do Not Call Registry.  They promptly hung up.  I called Direct TV and the guy in customer service looked in the internal records to see if this was in fact one of their departments.  He said that this number is not a part of Direct TV and to not give them any information that it was most likely a scam.

My privacy settings with DirectTV are supposed to be set to NOT receive promotional calls, yet they keep calling. Called DirectTV and complained and they said they would contact the caller to have my number removed since I threatened to cancel my service and file a complaint with the FTC if I had to wait 30 days. Sick of this number calling me every couple of days...I'll see if it works!

It IS DirecTV, which I have already!! The spiel starts w/ "This is DirecTVi. If you wish to no longer receive telemarketing calls from us, please press 9 now." Guess what??  I did, & the message said" You are no longer on our list. However, it may take up to 30 days to be removed from our system" Duhhh! Wonder what thewy will do in the next 30 days??  Call me every day???  WShy can't they  get me off the list NOW??

It is direct tv......and you can probably stop your Brother in law from calling by paying him the rent.

This number calls and calls. I won't answer, and messages are never left. It's beyond annoying.

I receive a daily call from this number and I do not want them calling my cell phone. so stop. This should be illegal.

I'm replying to my own message because my information was incorrect.  I was just advised by Direct TV itself that this IS their number.  I apologize for my misinformation.

Helen, this is NOT Direct TV.  It is a distributor company using their name.  The company itself doesn't have anything to do with the calls.  I get them daily and have tried everything, including reporting to the Attorney General (which is how I found out it was not Direct TV).

It is DirecTV!  Quit making these calls.  They are annoying.

When you call back it has a message saying direct tv. I thoiught I had hung up but didnt after a minute it started prompting me for a response. "for help press star H" so I did, then "enter the 5 digit extension" I hit random ones all saying invalid. Then "enter by name" so I typed in "smith", it rang to a Christopher Smiths email, I waited, it then said leave a message or press 0 for help. I hit 0. A live person answered and asked if she could help me. I said what company are you with? She said "Direct Energy" I asked why they keep calling me and hanging up, she said it may be a cold calling company calling to offer energy solutions. After a discussion with her and telling her they are representing themselves as Direct TV she said she would remove my number. I am on the do not call list. I bet Direct TV sold our numbers to this company and they are trying to get their foot in the door using DTVs name. I am filing a complaint with the FTC about them.

Calls many times each day.  No answer when I pick up, no message when I don't.  This is driving me crazy. I have no past due bills, so it isn't a bill collector.  I am on the Do Not Call List.

I think it's a car warantee company. Somehow I am getting three or four of these guys non-stop. Just don't answer them.

Called saying they were from DirectTV and wanted me to take some type of package that I would receive free for 3 months. I tried to explain that I was in the middle of preparing coffee for church and was hung up on before I finished the sentence.
