UCL, took money from my checking account without my permission. They did it twice.
I have filed complaint with State Attorney General and FTC. I will now file complaint with CFPB.  UCL has to be stopped.

Google your name and also your numbers. Anyplace such as spokeo that shows up, make them remove that information. I've seen places show up that even list relatives. If these people have any of your personal information such as your social security number, date of birth or drivers license make sure you register with identity protection notify the credit agencies as well as your banks!!

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

They are not only harrassing me on my cell and my work but they are calling my Mother in law...my youngest son and now my sister....I have never ever used any of these people as a reference for anything so I'm not sure  how they even got their numbers.... but it's down right harrassing as they will call 4 times in a 1/2 hour...then wait a couple hours and then call another 3 or 4 times within a half hour.   they  use several different numbers other than the one above...not sure how to get them to stop!!!  Under call type I wish I could pick A$$&*^%s

If you had your ID stolen, you should make a police report.  You should not have to be "on the hook" for two fraudulent checks.

Sue the b*****ds! By calling you at work, these scumbags are VIOLATING FEDERAL LAW -- specifically, Section 805, Subsection (b) of the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (15 USC 1692c), which strictly prohibits debt collectors from making collection calls to third parties; in your case, your employer.

UCL claims that it is exempt from obeying the law because it is owned by a Native American tribe. And in fact, it is registered as a Native American-owned business, owned by the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma. They are indeed immune from state consumer-protection laws but they are NOT immune from FEDERAL law.

Article VI, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution makes it explicitly clear that it and all federal laws TRUMP any and all state, county, and municipal laws -- and it also TRUMPS tribal sovereignty, particularly in the area of interstate electronic communications, which is the EXCLUSIVE regulatory preserve of the federal government.

UCL is not immune from liability under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Nor is it immune from liability under Title X of the federal Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 -- better known as the Dodd-Frank Act -- which created the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

File a complaint with the  Federal Trade Commission and the CFPB. The FTC already has begun to crack down on unscrupulous debt-collection practices by Native American-owned financial firms. You have to show UCL and other unscrupulous debt collectors that you know what your rights are under the law and that you won't hesitate to enforce them. They broke the law and, therefore, have forfeited any right to collect, as far as I'm concerned.

I, too am getting calls from 918-442-9162 where all they do is leave a message saying that I need to return their call at 800-404-8817. they do not identify who they are or what they are calling about. so I don't respond. however, if this is United Cash Loans, I have another number for them - and it's been noted on this website as well : 800-327-4901.
