The same thing happened in Salmon Arm: air quality survey, and a card with some unverifiable draw entry card. They took my first name, and phone number, and asked some questions about the air quality in Salmon Arm.

The next day, AAS as the caller ID for this number and no message left on the answering machine. We don't answer unidentifiable or "caller unknown" call displays and let the machine handle it.

I've got to install that security camera at the door so I can post a link to a photo or video showing their faces for the whole internet to see for eternity. Not sure if these door-to-door people are unwitting pawns, but they maybe deserve their lesson.

These guys were making the circuit in Kamloops on Easter weekend, going door to door and asking a '3 question survey' about air quality.  They ask for a phone number and first name 'to be entered into a draw'.  Got a call from them today and looked up the number to find this page and all of the commends thusfar.  Phoned Kamloops RCMP to report the incident and notify that they're potentially scouting for burglaries.

these idiots tried to suck my wife in on there scam, while i was sleeping . when i woke up my wife told me about the phone call from 17784322155 , so i called it back and after 12 rings some lady answered , and i asked if they had called my # and she said yes . i told her in no nice words to never call again , and we have been getting 8 calls since the 16th of april and even on 20th easter sunday. i have been at work, so my wife wont answer calls ., but i am waiting for them to call when i am home & you wll prob hear me holler at them all the way from kamloops to vancouver. //THEY ARE THE SCUM OF THE EARTH AS FAR AS PEOPLE GO //

did a stupid survey last week they called back and said i had won 3 days in Mexico.( i laughed) then she said they will be by at 315 to drop off my prize. 3:15 came & went,so i was still home and called them back as a joke, yep they answered, said they will be there very soon.I was out of the house after dinner & the wife called me,said a nice blue car & 3 big guys were at the door. by the time i got home they were gone. I WAS MAD !!! if my wife had let them in there's no idea what may have happened!!!! Just a big scam on all the other sites when I looked this number up!!!!! PLEASE tell all your friends this is bad. possible home invasions after first contact. after checking to see if your alone and what you have in your house!!!!!!!!!! i checked the BBB from a link from another blogger, this company is on RED ALERT by the Better Business B. They call and say you filled out a survey. They say the product is something that will help with asthma. If you just see a BRIEF demo, you get to choose from free multiple choice prizes (trips etc). There is NO obligation to buy as long as you tell all your friends about the product - word of mouth advertising!! The demo is 3 hours, the product is FILTER QUEEN. After saying NO, the price dropped from $$thousands to $375. Sales tactics include: Its my birthday. I need this sale to win a company sales contest. This price is only good today. I cleaned your entire house, you really owe me something. Talk to my boss just to let him know I did a good job (not to get fired). They have no business cards, no literature and no local address.

We agreed to receive the free gift and after questioning what it was all about it was to listen to a sales rep demonstrate an air purifier. OK!
When the sales guy arrived with his bags containing a "FILTER QUEEN" Vacuum. We sat and had a good time with him for two hours. We said we couldn't afford anything which then he presented the pricing which was $4700 + including the air purifier. Even though he was knowledgeable with the product he pushed the sale of the vacuum, and I offered a lower price of $400. The price kept dropping!
He kept calling his bosses and even passed him off to me at some point. We did get the gift we asked for and paid nothing. Now we are getting calls from this number with no response.

Too bad for Filter Queen!!< good product, bad sales techniques.
The sales rep was from out of this country and indicated he was only doing this until April.

This number is fraud. They try to lure you to give free gift and prize just to get in your house.
watch out for them and do not get scammed or robbed, I reported the matter to police RCMP, Canadina Anti Fraud 1-888-495-8501, Better Business Bureau 1-877-826-4222. It is very fishy.

This is direct sales company. They want to sell some sort or air purifiers and vacuums.  Did you answer a survey at your door about local air quality? Yeah this is them.

They called me for days on end and when I finally called them back and asked to be taken off their call list, the girl went into a long sales blurb, telling me I'd won some crap.  Finally I asked to have my name taken off their list and the response was "Sorry Chris, we're going to call you forever!" and she hung up on me.  The calls haven't stopped.

Got a call from this number asking me to do a recycling survey and then two high pressure salesmen showed up at my door at 10 pm on Boxing day to do a air purifying demo!  It was difficult to get them to leave until I threatened to call the police. I guess having your number on a "no call" list means nothing.      

We've been called by this number repeatedly and we had them come show us the vacuum system.  twice. Both times we got the travel voucher, they were invalid.  This number just called 10 mins ago and I told the woman who said I'd "won" a 3 rd travel voucher that the vouchers never work.  The woman told me to go f*#+ myself and hung up.  Would a call to the better business bureau help?

Got asked to do the recycle question air. I did and now they want to come to the house to deliver the gift and make a donation to childrens hospital in my name.  I Called back and they answered and I cancelled the set time. They are in for one hell of shock if they show up.

After a "survey" call at the door 10 days ago there were several phone calls promising me a gift (BBQ set or hotel stays) --  if I watched the air cleaner demo. A young man came at the appointed time and demonstrated an air cleaning machine ($1400) which I didn't buy. Two hotel stay vouchers (2-night) were left. They are sold by TRIPS Incentives (Florida) as sales incentives for operations like AA S. The fine print is complicated and doesn't instill confidence.
I checked with the Victoria Better Business Bureau and there is a red alert on this company. Beware.
 

 

The free gift come on - sneaky sales telemarketing.. Looks like they may be selling something and its a way to get in your front door of course. They are mentioning a air purifier.. Heh, can buy those under 100 in any store.. The ones they try selling like this usually have unreal prices , spendy replacement parts and the some of the sales tactics I've read in other threads are not all that kewl. :(

You might want to file reports with Canada's version of the ftc etc..

These ppl phoned me the other day, telling me I had won a prize. They wouldn't deliver unless my husband was home.I asked If they were just going to drop off the gift, she said yes. But because My husband wasn't home they would have to wait. So I asked why, her response was "for security reasons. So I asked If the person coming was an axe murderer and why would you send them", If it wasn't safe? she laughed a little and kept on trying to get a time to come! so I said forget the gift, don't call back! They called well I was out today!

My daughter answered a survey last week on air quality issues here in Nanaimo. They left a business card with  website on it that turned out to be bogus when I looked it up. I started getting calls the very next day which I dont answer from this number and it says AAS on the call display

Yesterday we had someone drop by claiming they were doing an air quality survey and asked a few questions all of which were answered negative.

Today we got a call from this number which I didn't answer.  Next time they call I will get the company and phone info so I can report them to Canada's do not call list.
