When you answer, it hangs up

Caller said he was with "the new AT&T" and said we had spoken a couple of months ago.  That didn't happen.  He said he must have his notes crossed and he was going to check into it and then hung up.  I don't think the caller was legit.

Person said he was with Embarq and wants to set up an appointment.
I ask him again, who are you with?  He replied Embarq.

this is a telemarketer hired by ATT to upsell customers, they do NOT identify themselves as telemarketers hired by ATT, but simply say they ARE ATT, which in most books is fraud...most of what they do will result in additional cost to the customer...be wary, and if what they say sounds interesting, tell them NO, then call the number in your phone book for ATT and speak with them directly.

The claim to be AT$T but when asked who they are with they will say "outsourced AT&T" and then will hang up. I called back and the number rings to an answering machine. Call AT&T corp at 404-236-6000 or 866-429-7222 and demand that your numbers are taken off! Nice that AT&T pays people to harrass us huh?

Got a call from 800-421-5845.  They asked for someone by name.  I have never heard of this person before; it's like they pulled it out of a hat or something.  They did get my company's name right.  They claimed they can give me a discount because AT&T merged with BellSouth.  I told them that they sound like a fraud and not to call me anymore.  I told them this is a strange way for AT&T to conduct business.  I should have gotten something in the mail instead.  They kept insisting that I give them my fax number so that I can sign something for them and fax it back.  I told them "you've got to be kidding.  I'm not giving you any information."  After I hung up on them, they had the nerve to call back in a few minutes and say that I'm currently paying $460.00 in phone charges on eight lines and that they could provide me with a discount.  I told them not to call again and hung up.  I hate telemarketers.  They, along with spammers are some of the leaches of society.  Can't they find an honest job where they don't harass people all the time.

I got a call from this number today, July 24, at 3:33PM Eastern Time.  The call went into my voice mail.  The caller identified herself as "Ms. Alvarado with AT&T."  She gave her number as 800-421-5845, extension 1073.  She called in reference to account number - and then she said my telephone number.  She then asked that I call her in reference to that account number.  I don't plan to do that.

They say they are from AT &T.  They are not.  I made the mistake of placing an order and tried to cancel almost immediately.  They did not call back so I called AT&T and put a note on our account hopefully blocking any change.  Hopefully, it will work.  My rule for the future is NEVER to deal with anyone who calls me supposedly from AT&T and only make changes in my account WHEN I CALL AT&T.  I'm going to try to get our number removed from the telemarketer list by AT&T.

Calls constantly - and hangs up as soon as I announce my business name.  

I tried calling the 800-421-5845 number and entering random extensions starting with 1 and 0 and never could get anyone to answer.

Called at&t and requested that they remove my number from the call list.

I was contacted by a Talisha Smith from this phone number 1-800-421-5845 three months ago and I must say I was impressed with her professionalism as I read over my new bill I see all of the savings that she promised.Even though they are a third party contracted by at&t there work is superb.

These people are a scam. We just received a call from a man who said he is with AT&T but is with ASP who is an AT&T provider. He said he was calling to tell me that they would change my account to reflect a 30% discount but he would need to fax me a paper to show what he was going to do. Then he springs this B.S. that he needs to record the conversation to approve this change order because he could not even fax me anything until he had recorded approval. This is a fraud, because the bastard would never have faxed me anything after I had let him record anything, and he was just trying to sucker me into getting a recording that remotely sounded like an approval,and then the s**tting with my account would have been endless. I only talked to him because we are in the process of installing a new phone system and was just making sure that he was the scam I thought he was. Anybody that reads this, if you have gotten any calls like this recently, you had better call your phone service provider and request your account be locked before you get sprung with an outrageous phone bill that you have to raise hell about for a month to keep from having to pay.

Sounded like a "sales call tactic".  They called and wanted to confirm contact info with me and five line service.  Before comfirming anything, I asked what this was in regards to he said we have been a valued customer for so long they wanted to "reduce" our bill.  It's a SCAM!!!

Pretends to be calling from AT&T to renew a discount package. They are actually a reseller not AT&T themselves.

A WOMAN CALLED AND SAID SHE WAS FROM AT&T AND OFFERED ME A DISCOUNT ON THE ACCOUNT. SHE SAID IN ORDER FOR THE DISCOUNT TO APPLY SHE WOULD SEND ME SOME PAPERS TO SIGN AND RETURN. I GAVE HER MY FAX NUMBER AND 3 WEEKS HAS GONE BY WITH NO FAX. TODAY, I CALL AT&T AND THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. THE WOMAN SAID HER NAME WAS CHANEL CLARK AND SHE COULD BE REACHED AT EXT 1077. THIS IS <<<<<FAKE>>>> PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED.

Before you deal with these folks, see if you can get a better deal with AT&T.  These folks are NOT AT&T!!!

This is an outbound telemarketing center calling on behalf of AT&T. They clam they are but are not. There sol job is to upgrade business customers that have Bellsouth or AT&T to plans that will do nothing but make costs double. Please do not give these people any information.

Call rec'd from this 800 number.  When you answer, the caller hangs up.  Cannot return call to number because you only get a machine!  Just another general annoying call!!!

Caller ID says Unavailable, automated system hangs up in your ear when you answer.  Very annoying.

Called and claimed to be with AT&T.

Hangs up when I pick up the phone to say hello....

Keep receiving hang up calls from this number. Completed a reverse telephone number using Residence in Georgia's information.

Can't get ahold of a real person though to complain. I just added them to my custom call forwarding so that when they call next time it gets forwarded dirctly to the FCC number.

Called and when I answer they hang-up.  This happens at least 4 times per day.  When I called them back, I received "Please hold for the next available agent..."tried entering different extensions and they all come back as extension 1001 is unavailable.

We get a hangup from this number every day for the last 2 weeks.
