I have also been screwed by these con-artists & I didn't even know it until today, I was charged the $2.97 fee on 8-23-10 & then the 139.95 on 8-26 & 39.99 on 9-27 & 39.99 on 10-27 & 39.99 on 11-26-10 &  39.99 on 12-27-2010. My wife and I both have a debit card on this checking account and we use our debit cards for everything (about 120X each per month so this made one charge in the mix stay hidden quite well) and we both work so much and have two little boys (4 & 7) so we never really had the time or even thought we had the need to check our account for any type of fraud.
Especially since REGIONS Bank supposively protects you from fraudulent charges but since we didn't notice the charges and dispute them sooner, they will only let us dispute the ones charged within the last 3 months (even though they are all from the same company!!) So we have been wrongfully charged $342.87 over the past 5 months and we are only able to dispute $79.98 which even that we will most likely never see returned either.
***??? I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO CONTACT THESE THIEVES AT ALL.....DOES ANYONE HAVE A WORKING PHONE NUMBER OR BY SOME GREAT MIRACLE HAVE A LOCATION-ADDRESS WHERE I CAN FIND THESE PEOPLE.

ANY INFORMATION AT ALL WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

Thank You in Advance for you Time and Help!!

If I find these people and find a process that works to get my money back I will post it here for you all to use as well.

I also have been scammed by this company.  I am still trying to get my money back from them.  I read the term and conditions and didn't see the $139 charge, when I contacted my cc company they started a fraud report.  I had a conference call with Direct Commerce Academy and my cc company and we were told that the account was locked and there wasn't any thing that could be done.  My cc company is still going to fight it and I am going to take your advice and file a complaint with BBB and the Attorney General Office.  I have learnt my lesson; I will never do business over the internet again.  I will join that suit

I was just given the same line after charges to my account.  I asked for the company address so that I could call the BBB and was given a 310-861-0206 phone number.  I was told that they could not give me the address and that I would get it my calling this number. I want to know how do you begin the process of a class action suit and how many would be willing to participate in such action?

Yes. Same thing here. I'll call the state Attorney General's office, too. This kind of ripoff needs to be stopped. Hopefully, no one has to go through this crap anymore.

Oh if you were charged once, the best way is to change your card number to avoid being charged again for next month's "membership" fee. They cannot be trusted.

This company is a total fraud. They will keep telling you about the "policy" or "term and condition" that YOU signed up yourself. The best way to deal with this is a class action suit against it. They are afraid to give out the company address. What legitimate company would not dare to give their address? Shame on those people who thought about this to rip off people.

This operation is so bogus!  I was given the fax # 310 861 0206.  It is time to shut them down.  File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General Office.  DO NOt LET DCA OFF THE HOOK!

I responded to an ad for "home computer work" and it showed someone from my hometown who allegedly made money.  I paid the $2.97 to go farther.  Before proceeding, I read the terms and conditions shown to me and there was no mention of additional fees or the fact there was a 5 day trial.  A few days later I noticed I had been charged $139.95 to my credit card.  When I contacted the company customer service rep, he told me I had signed a contract.  I informed him I hadn't even given him my name so how could he know I signed anything.  When I said I wanted a refund, he said he couldn't do that and no one was authorized to give refunds.  When I asked for the name and address of the company, he said he could not provide it.  I contacted my bank, they temporarily refunded my money and filed a complaint with the company.  Today the bank took the money back from my account, saying the company had responded via email.  I still don't have an address for the company.  I plan to pursue this further by contacting every state Attorney General Office and posting this on the internet.  It is nothing but a rip off.

I experienced the same problem with Direct Commerce Academy.  Here's how I rectified the situation to my satisfaction...and a process I'd recommend to all who've fallen prey:
First, I Googled the 1-800 number that showed up on my cc bill.  Wow...there is a banquet of bad blogs and posts concerning Direct Commerce Academy.  I saved several to my desktop so I'd have it handy when needed.  Then, I called my credit card company's customer support number.  I explained that I'm not contesting the $2.97 charge, but I would under no circumstance pay the $139.95.  This credit card representative then agreed to call the 800 number on the bill.  She (I'll call her Sarah) connected with them and turned the call over to me.  I spoke with DCA's rep (I'll call him Ben).  Ben gave what seems to be the pat reply: the terms are plainly displayed and it's my fault I didn't read them.  I explained that they ARE NOT plainly displayed on the initial page and that the only reason for this call was to have him credit my card for the full $139.95.  He said he couldn't and I said I understood and would wait while he connected me with someone who could.  Ben was a bit frustrated, said this wouldn't be done just because I chose not to read the conditions.  I explained I wasn't going to argue: either they removed the charges or I'd send a copy of my credit card bill along with the dozens of pages of complaints I'd found on the internet concerning this same scam perpetrated on thousands of others.  I was put on hold and Sarah said she'd stay on the line.  Sarah had NOT spoken since the very beginning of the phone call.
Ben returned and said 'to avoid further costs, we're going to refund the $139.95."  He then asked why I thought I was smarter than 'them', that I was at fault and he didn't want to talk with me anymore!  I said he could end the call as soon as he gave me a confirmation number that verified his agreement to remove the charges.  Once he gave me that number, I asked Sarah if she was still on the line.  She replied yes, she was there and had documented the entire conversation, INCLUDING his agreement to credit my card, as well as the confirmation number.  I actually heard Ben say 'ohhhhh' before hanging up.
I hope this provides an antidote for anyone bitten by the same snakes.  Good luck!

Well, if only I had seen these messages...oh well. Yes to all of the above. But the latest tweek is the 800 number now has a special code on it from AT&T and you can't get connected without it. Not only am I out the 139.95 but an extra 64 dollars in bounce fees from my checking account. Yes, like an idiot I used my debit card....oh woe is me....

This too happened to me and I thought my head would explode when I saw that $139.95 charge.  I know it's impossible to stay calm in this situation but IT WORKS!! Had my gf call because there is no way I could be rational and at first she was incredibly p**sed. She calmed down and apologized to the woman for losing her temper and she wasn't trying to be an a** but that was a lot of money. Made a comment about being a single mother and mentioned the BBB and a few minutes later the lady got on the phone to inform her the full amount would be refunded. So my advice is to let someone else call who isn't going to be so irate or

I was stupid!  I wanted this to be legit because of where I found the link and am seriously upset.  I never received any kind of confirmation e-mail and I thought the transaction didn't even go through.  Now there's the membership charge.  I called to cancel and was graciously given a 50% refund!  I'm going to dispute with my bank!  I need more income, not to be robbed!

I have been signed up, and been charged $2.95 and then $139.95, too. I still very angry, because I have read very carefully the contract, and I didn't found any second charge of $139.95. They are totally demonds!!!! We just want to find a job, but they are cheating us.

they are required by LAW to disclose these fees in the terms and conditions and KNOW most people will NEVER read them.

Never ever do business with a website until you have read the terms and conditions AND THE Privacy Policy

Never fill out forms without reading these first as well .  Online forms are designed to capture your information even if you never submit it.   They get your phone # and you get an increase of telemarketing calls

You are lucky if you are getting back 50% of the charges.  I was told it was a non-refundable fee.

I didn't get a call.  I am advising people to beware of Direct Commerce Academy.  These people are online offering "At Home Income".  Don't sign up.  Do a little investigating.  I learned my lesson to the tune of $2.95, then $139.95 (there is no mention of this second charge online) which is a non-refundable membership fee.  I didn't find out any of this until after I was billed.  I called the company and was told there would be no refund even though I had already canceled and was given a cancellation confirmation number.  The charges appeared on my bill after I had canceled. Their phone number is 1-800-422-1949.  Go to Google and checked them out.  I wieh I had done that .

Same thing happened to me, only Chase didn't decline the charges.  I was billed $2.95 and was later given sound advice never to sign up for "At Home Jobs" on the internet without investigating.  I called DCA and they asked if I wanted to cancel.  I said yes.  He gave me a cancellation confirmation number.  A couple of days later, I checked my Chase billing on line and noticed that same company had billed me for $139.95.  I had no idea what those charges were for.  I called Chase and they sent me papers to fill out disputing the charges.  I called the company today and told them they had not yet removed that charge.  I was told it was a nonrefundable charge and would not be removed from my bill.  He said it was written in the contract.  They never showed a contract on line.  I asked what the charge was for and was told it was a membership fee.  I don't know what the $2.95 was for.  I pray the charges will be reversed, but I doubt it.  I am a widow living on Social Security only and was desperate to find something to help me along.  That's what these vultures depend on...........Desperate people.  And in these times, we are many.

I received a call from my credit card provider saying they had declined a charge from DCA for $139.95 today.  DCA meant nothing to me.  They said I had been charged $2.97 by the same company five days ago.  Then a light clicked and I realized I had been a victim of a scam when I followed a link to their website.   Chase provided me with DCA's number and an agent there assured me the 'order' had been cancelled.

I received an very short email from a company called Direct Commerce Academy.  The subject was my full name and mailing address.  The message reads, "I'm from [my town] also, but yet not certain perhaps you have viewed this?"  And the name of my town was provided as the link to whatever the writer wanted me to view.  My town is very small and I was curious about what would be happening here.

Foolishly, I clicked the link and plunked down my credit card for $2.97.  Five days later, my credit card was charged $139.95.  Of course, I was not notified of the charge until I saw it on my credit card statement.

Called the 800-422-1949, talked with  female voice who advised me she could only refund fifty percent of that $139.95 charge.  Those are the terms and conditions that "customers don't often read".

Let my experience be a lesson to others.  This company may offer a valuable service to someone who really wants it, but this "terms and conditions" melarky is wrong.  Perhaps it is legal, but morally it is wrong!  How do such people sleep at night?
