Just another boiler room operation. Just don't give them your SSN. If they say you've won a prize, tell them to mail it. They'll hang up.

The comany I called said they were "International Recreation". They were calling about an entry form I had submitted at a mall I have never been to. Curious.

Got the same call from International Recreation. They said I won a 4 day, 3 night trip to either Las Vegas or Orlando (which ever I chose). They had my name, address, and phone# from an entry contest I entered a couple weeks ago at a mall. They said all I needed to do was sit through a 90 minutes presentation and I'd get my prize. I'm have googled both the name and number and found scam reports on them. I won't be wasting my time going to the presentation or the trip.

I keep getting calls telling me I filled something out at the Sherman Oaks Fashion Square and I have won a prize. I have not even been to that mall in months and I NEVER fill out the stupid forms. They are all just time share junk.  But they keep calling and they are driving me nuts

I got a call WAY back in July saying that I had been picked as a semi-finalist for a win a car contest I had entered in April at a movie theater. They called me again last Thursday sayin I am now a finalist and as a finalist I won a trip for two to either Las Vegas (air fare included, 2 night stay at Stratosphere, dinner for two at either Planet Hollywood or Hard Rock Cafe and $30 in gas cards) or a trip to either Mexico, Hawaii or Orlando (4day 3night, $70 gift card to either Home Depot, Kohl's, Dillards or Best Buy, no air fare). I told him I was interested in the Las Vegas trip. He then stated that you must be 25 years old- which I wasn't- but told me if I have someone who was 25 pick them up then it would be ok. I got my dad's info. All that I had to do was go to a 90 minute presentation then I would recieve my vacation. All I had to do to continue in the running for the car was to call the next morning with the validation code on the vacation packet. Well, my father and I just got back from the presentation by Wyndham resorts. It was a very nice presentation- yes they are like a time share- we were actually very impressed with their presentation and what they had to offer and the quality of their service they would provide. Unfortunately this is not a GREAT time to buy so we had to decline the offer. After the presentation we recieved the vacation voucher and the gas cards. I now have to mail the voucher with a $100 deposit and will have to pay ~$95 in taxes. Frankly the 2 hours we were there is worth the $30 gas cards so I think there isn't any harm yet...if there is I will update.

Just now (2pm PT) got a call which I could not take. In the voice mail I was told to call 1-800-429-7497, ext.231.
The person at the reception uttered something in Spanish or English not sure, which I understood to hold on and it was transferred to the ext. No one picked up. Good!
I had filled up my details for this car an UTC mall San Diego!

Crystal Pierce, from IRC called me about a entry form I filled out at the simi valley mall and told me I had won a car or $25,000 cash. Then she asked for my address...thats where it ended.  Interesting how they have my number from the form but not my address.  Don't waste your time!!

My wife was all set to go pick up her "Prize Package".  I thought it sounded fishy...what's a "Prize Package"? Why would they be giving away prizes, cars, trips, and getting nothing in return?  Just a random, free, no strings attached give-away?  Not likely.  What's the value of the tickets?  Maybe 300 bucks, maybe 400.  The rooms..maybe another 200.00, plus 40.00 gift certificate..so that's 650.00 in value I suppose.  That's not bad, but do we have to go look at the time shares when we go to vegas?  Do we have to go to some meeting, or convention?  if so, then that's not a pleasure trip, that's a torture trip.  I hate being sold on things.  I don't think I could handle 90 minutes of it.

My husband and I found this thread after receiving the call the rest of you got.  We decided it was only 90 minutes we would find out the mystery.  Yes, it's to sell a timeshare product.  No we did not purchase anything and we did get a certificate for two plane tickets and two nights in their 4 start Wyndham Grand Desert Resort in Vegas.  We have to schedule the trip at least 90 days in advance, not within 7 days of any holiday, subject to availability, and pay all applicable taxes up front (not to exceed $95) and an additional $50 per person (fully refundable) to the hotel for "incidental charges".  In addition the certificate is only good for one year and the gift card can only be used at Planet Hollywood.  These are the details we have received thus far and of course we haven't gone anywhere yet.

Man named Mark called and said that I had won in a contest I had entered at the Valley Plaza Mall in Bakersfield.  I called him back and a woman answered the phone and said that I would be able to pick up my prize at a local office.  The only contest I can remember entering is for a car, not a trip or gift certificates.  They gave me another number to confirm my acceptance of the prize (1-866-762-8747).  This all sounded a bit fishy and I asked the lady at the second number if this was a timeshare and she told me that it was.  I don't think that anyone actually wins the car.  I believe that this is just a way for these timeshare companies to get your information so that they can call you and try to sucker you in to buying into their timeshare.  I have a friend who actually bought in to one and he had a bad experience.  He "owned" a part of this timeshare for eight years.  In those eight years he never actually saw the place.  He had to call six months in advance to reserve a place.  When he called, every time he was told that the time he wished to stay had already been booked.  The only available times were when it was snowing or raining or basically in the off season when no one wanted to be there.  In addition, he was sent bills for thousands of dollars each year for his part in the upgrades they had done to the facility and it was his obligation since he was a partial owner.  He finally got out of the deal by selling it in the paper.

My wife just won a free vacation from World Market Wyndham and we were invited to their 'office' in a rotten part of town.  She won it at a mall where a lady was standing in front of a brand new car and said someone would win the car.  Thanks to you all, we have been saved from a tineshare lecture!

A lady with the name of Anna, gave this number for me to call. How did she know that I entered in a raffle for a car in a Mall in Tulsa, Oklahoma? Is the whole scheme a hoax, because the form that I filled up required the name of my wife and she was able to talk to my wife that somehow gave credence to this "winning of something"?

I tried to call 1-800-429-7497 but the number is not a valid one. I called from Toronto, Canada.

Received the same call as above. No purchase, no need to sign anything, just need to come to a 90 minute review of Wyndham resorts. Sounds like a timeshare thing where you need to come to a presentation. The tough part is, unlike most, this one says I:

1. Get a gift for 2 to Vegas or Orlando (Air/Hotel).
2. Get a $40 gift card at Planet Hollywood.
3. Get entered to win the car.

My gut says, it's like a timeshare thing where there is some sort of catch. However, is 90 minutes that tough to solve this mystery? I spend more time watching stupid reruns.

I imagine if there is a catch, it's that the gift card can only be redeemed in Vegas or Orlando and the mini-vacation, the plane flight has about 20 stops, a ghetto hotel and of course, taxes.

Yeah this is my story.
Hey matthew tell me what you think about this . I was out at the independace mall the other day and you know how they have a car just sitting there in the middlle of no where and they wont you to fill out some contest form. So I did for the hell of it .
Okay now check this out yesterday some lady called me about that same contest and said  I did not when the car but I won a vacation to ethier los vegas or somewhere eles I thought she was bull shiting . But any way she told me to come and pick the package up this Friday at 2:00 . She said I will have to be there for 90 minutes. She also said that I do not need any type of money.

I will see later if this is true are not.
