This is a total scam. My home phone is on a do not call list but for the last 1 1/2 years they have been calling that and my cell phone at least once every other day (sometimes once a day). I tried the #3 to be removed from their calling list - no deal. Then I started pressing the #1 to talk to somebody and asked them to remove me, they hung up. Then I started asking about their company, they hung up. For the last month I have a post it note on my desk with fake CC #'s, zip code, birth date, amounts I owe, ect.., and every time they call, I press #1 to talk with someone and give them all this bogus info. They put me on hold as they try to run my CC# and charge it but always come back saying that something was wrong. I go through the whole process again and again and again just to waste their time. It really seems to have worked because the frequency of calls has dropped although I still get them. There is nothing the government can do as these people use bogus #'s every time the call and are out of the country so they don't care about the rules. I store every # I get from them in a "telemarketer" contact and I have over 150 different #'s. It has just become a part of every day life now but hopefully they will get caught at some point in time. The last call I got, I had them on the phone for 40 min and ended up talking with a "supervisor" who I then started asking about the company and she hing up. Hopefully that "waste of their time" will get me off their list. I hope this helps you all out.

recieved numerous  calls in the past few weeks with the recorded message as noted by the above poster:"We are getting repeated called (usually left as a message) reportedly offering to lower the interest rate for any of our credit card numbers. I asked them for a call back number and 800 436 1792 is the number she gave. When you begin questioning them, they disconnect you.
They claim it is in reference to lowering the interest rates of our credit cards and they call their company "Card Services".
For me I received a call just yesterday too. When I pressed one to speaktosomeone he gave me his name as William  Then I asked for a call back number  to prove they are legit. He gave me the same number as listed above.  THEN I requested to speak to a manager. He without hesitation passed me to Susie. I questioned if she was a manager. She said yes. Then she immediately asked if I qualify for the lower interest rate. (didn't ask why i needed to speak to her). I told her I want her company to stop calling me and take my number off her list and I'm on a Do Not Call list. She said I could have my number deleted by pressing #2. I said AND HOW would I know that? The recording doesnt tell you that!! (Besides yesterday I got the same call but pressed#9 out of nothing better to do and got a message "thank you . Your number has been removed form our list--I didn't tell her that though)
She said asked how I know its them thats calling, there are many out there using the same recorded message. I told her not to call again and she asked for my tn# to add to her donot call list. I started to give it to her and she interrupted with some nasty remark (I cant remember) so I told her not to get nasty with me  that it was SHE who called Me. Then she yelled F*** and I immediatly said "EXCUSE ME???  What did you just say? You know,  I'm recording this conversation." She said you cant do that without permission  its against the law. I said well.... I'm doing it. Your calling me against the law  and you just called the WRONG person.I'm reporting you.  Then she hung up on me. (she automatically assumed I was recording the conversation by audio tape   but I was recording by handwriting what was said   ha-ha-ha!)We shall see how long it takes for me toget another one of these calls.
This happened to me a few years ago but I kept getting the very same distinct voice who claimed she was Mary I asked questions like I was interested in her services then  finally I told her thanks for staying on the line so long with me  so that we could identify where the call was coming from  now we know who she is. She said the F**** word too and hung up. By the way I NEVER EVER got her again after that!!!  Perhaps we all should try that technique.

Yes, I keep getting these calls very often even though I am listed under "Donotcall.gov" list.

I got a call from, 866 436 1792;

I this time for the first time, pressed 1 to talk to a live person.
The live person's name was, Channelle. She said, thanks for calling "Client services". I asked her what is this great company's name. She mentioned, "Consumer Services". The next question I asked was, Where are they located? It was "Florida" and, when I asked the city, she hung up ...

So, what are we all going to do about this? Thanks for this forum and good to see I was not alone ...

Ashley Rodgers called me from unavailable and left the number 1800 436 1792.   Wanted to lower the credit card interest.  Sounded Fishy, I took the number and looked it up online, seems fraudulent.  Will not call back and I did not give up any of my information.

This time, they called offering caribbean vacations. The guy claimed to be from a made-up address in Singapore. I have asked this scam company to add my # to their do not call list. When I pointed out the individual was breaking the law by continuing to call after receiving an explicit request to not call, he said he's in Singapore so he doesn't have to obey our laws.

I didn't hang up when he did. I am now connected to their automated dialer. Being connected seems to interfere with their pre-recorded scam message--it never plays. I hear the phones ringing and people answering and hanging up without the message.

I doubt the fraud artists are paying long-distance fees, but if they are, they will have a nice long call to me.

They called to offer reduced interest rates on VISA.  I talked to them hoping to get some ID info from them.  They did give me the 800-436-1792 number and Sara name.  They disconnected me when I refused to give my credit card number.  Pure scam.  I've received several recorded messages from them before.

Received several unsolicited calls from "Account Services" (a.k.a., "Consumer Services") without a human (illegal in Calif. [STRIKE 1]).  My number is in the FTC do not call list [STRIKE 2].

The calls have multiple caller ids:
207-403-3667, 208-881-2391; both "Out of area".  [Prefix lookup reports that these phone numbers are in Lincon, Main and Idaho Falls, Idaho, respectively; very different places.  I suspect that the caller ID is spoofed.]

Presses 1 to talk to a live human.  Asked her name, Stacy <refused to give last name> [required by FTC: SRTICK 3]

Asked call back number: she gave 1-800-436-1792.  [It is a directory service service that has now been changed to 1011518000. In other words, not her real call back number, STRIKE 4.]

Told her to remove my number (gave her the number) and to never call me again.

Six days later received another call from "Account Services" after I already told them to never call me again [STRIKE 6].  Same unsolocited call with no human to a number in the FTC do-not-call list.

Pressed 1.  Caller was Johnathan Davis.

Told him that I now consider them as harrassing us after about the 5th call and after I already told them to stop calling me.

He said that they do not have to remove numbers immediately.

Gave him my number and told him to never call again.  He said that he would put it in as a priority request.
