No message left.  Only one call so far

Sick of getting 3 calls a day from this number. No message left. This has been going on for nearly a month. I called the number and it seems to be Gevalia - the coffee people.

You'd think they could spell the name of their company correctly on their caller ID... or maybe it's deliberate.  I cancelled my account last year.  Too many deliveries.  Too pricey.

How can I talk to a real person when calling them to report I want to have phone number removed from their files. I canceled my ordering and can't get them to stop calls.

I receive numerous calls from this number (Givolia) everyday. They never leave a message, just multiple calls everyday at all hours between 8 and 9pm. I have now blocked it on my new phone system. If I continue to get a call from them, I will report it to the FCC since I am on the Do Not Call list

I had no trouble cancelling my account with Gevelia.  I haven't heard from them in MONTHS, probably close to a year.  I get the occasional promotional email but nothing else...until recently. They've called twice on my GD WORK number.  Now that I know who they are, I'll answer next time and they'll get an earful!

This number calls, I don't pick up because I don't know who they are. They never leave a message.

They call twice a day and NEVER leave a message!  Do they really think we are going to answer?

They call every evening and never leave a message, not sure why or who is calling.

Gevalia calls three times a day to sell me one of their latest and greatest deals because I was a customer years ago. Have told them to stop calling, but the calls keep coming in.

All of this is illegal behavior and is in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  I encourage you to contact a consumer lawyer in your area immediately as you are entitled to be financially compensated for this type of behavior, whether or not you owe the debt. I got a call from 1-800-438-2542. They call everyday. Never leave a message.

Callid ID "GIVOLIA" not "GEVALIA". I wonder if it is the coffee company making the calls or some other scam hiding their identity you think it is about coffee.

This number is Gevalia Customer Service.  I found this number listed on the customer service page of their website.  In fact 1-800-GEVALIA is 1-800-438-2542.

This is a very strange scam.  I assume that at some point after you cancel your account, you will stop payment on your account, and then will all be told that your accounts are past due and have been sent to collections.    

To answer some of your questions, debt collectors can call from 8am-9pm any day of the week.  They cannot call your cell phone or make collect calls to you.  The cannot tell anyone that they are attempting to contact you because of a debt, even leaving that kind of message on your answering machine is forbidden.  They are allowed to call until you answer the phone and verify that they have correct contact information for the person they are seeking.  After that they have 5 days to mail you proof of your debt.  Almost all of the posts related to this number describe illegal behavior that is in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

I have had over twenty calls from Givolia 800/438-2542.
They come at all times of the day.  I have not answered, let the answering machine come on, but, there is never a message.  This is getting more and more annoying!

I get 1 to 4 call per day from this number.  I do have a Gevalia Subscription for coffee.  But did not know that I had agreed to receive telemarketing calls from them with this sign-up.  I will stop my subscription now that I know it is them. They never leave a message on the answering machine...just dead air-time.  Very annoying.

They call 2-3 times a day...can't get them to stop.

A Google search brought me to this site because I've been getting 2 or 3 calls per day from 1-800/438-2542 according to my caller ID. Never any messages left.
As I have a Gevalia "subscription," I suppose that circumvents my being on the Do Not Call list.
But why are they calling *after* I've signed up?

Pick up and click, multiple times a day.  I have, in desperation, turned off the ringer on my telephone, because-no call list be damned, I get 20 calls at least per day.

Over 20 this week.  Different times of the day.  No message left.  Have only answered once and got NO reply.

Received a call from 1-800-438-2542. I answered before a dial tone came on. Just silence. I waited til Opr. (recording) said if I needed to make a call hang up and redial. {paraphrasing}  I have an acctount with this co. Gevalia, coffee is soso. I will now call and cancel.

If you are misguided enough to establish an account with this company, expect; A promotional Junk Coffee Maker. Not so good coffee with a few exceptions. Continued shipments, billing and charges to your Charge Card or Bank Account, even after you have discoutinued your Gevalia Account.  Continued Telemarketing RoBo calls to your phone number, even if you are on the Do Not Call List.

For example the 8004382542 is a telemarketing center in Manila, Philippines.  Caller ID is "Not Provided".  The employees there are just doing their job.  They repeatedly apologize in every scripted sentence for your inconvenience.  They are not the problem. The problem is that the Gevalia business model knowing ignores "customer" requests to end services and calls. They apparently pay no attention to the DNC List or the laws that govern it.  It is easier to beg forgiveness than to screen phone numbers through the DNC List.

The account was finally discontinued after a number of follow up calls including a threat to charge Gevalia with Credit Card and Bank Fraud for unauthorized charges.

The RoBo calls are still a problem even though Gevalia says they have coded the former account as "Opt Out" from all solicitations.  There latest comment was "perhaps the calls from 8004382542 are not from Gevalia". Pretty dumb when you can call the number and get the Gevalia call center (which is probably a Telemarketing Company working for Gevalia).

Filing a complaint does no good , how do I get it to stop
