They are calling making nasty threats for a person who does not even live here - nor has ever lived here.

I don't know how to stop the calls, but a little research can put your legal worries at ease.

These people started calling my wife a couple weeks ago, chasing an illegitimate cellular account debt from 10 years ago.  The fact is, the statue of limitations on debt is 6 years in our state.  I guess they *could* sue, but the case would be thrown out.

Multiple calls per week, and it is clear to me these calls are scam attempts. I never answer the phone, and the recorded message just blathers on that this message is from "Mr. Roberts" regarding a debt. I have no debts, and no patience for low-life scammers.

I blocked another number mentioned on this page, got a screaming recorded message from 800-443-2918.

I have no bad debts, and just ran a credit check to buy a house -- clean.

Sounds like a scam to me.  All they need is for a very small number of people they call to believe they have a bad debt in the past, and they can clean up.  Like Nigerians who send out 7 million scam emails -- it only takes one fool to send them money to make it worthwhile.

Blocked this number too.

This Mr. Roberts calls my house about 6-10 times a day on a debt. I have no other information than his name and that he is a debt collector. (SOUNDS LIKE AN A**!!!) Calls from 8 in the morning, until almost 9 at night. EVERYDAY!

For the last several weeks the phone calls from Mr. Roberts have been a daily occurance. First of all I have never had any bad debts. I checked out the phone # 800-443-2918 with a reverse phone book and it belonged to a Chico's Tire Service in the east...I have also registered a complaint with the no-call people but still the calls come....

As we don't have any credit problems, did a number look-up and found this site, great by the way. My caller ID listed one number and the message gave another one to call (1-800-443-2918).Person on other end said they were looking for <name>, and it was my son that they were after, and since he doesn't have a phone they were calling me. Also stated they would remove my number,we will see.

Yeah I get calls from these guys every single day like 2 to 3 times a day! And the worst part is they are calling my parents house and I haven't lived here for like 2 months. I am in a small amount of debt but I get my tax return in like two weeks and I'm paying it all off... they still shouldn't be calling like that. Plus I don't want my parents to know any of that. I never even put out my parents number, only my cell number... they seriously need to stop.

I too have begun to receive the same messages left almost daily from  716-650-6240. Since I have caller ID and the phove rings with a unique "solicitation ring" - I never answer those type of calls.  The recorded message states "this is a time sensitive matter that does need your attention. We want to verify that the    opportunity    (sure) to resolve this matter in the correspondence that we have sent you will not be taken advantage of. (I have never received correspondence)  Again, this is not a call of solicitation. Please call me, Mr Roberts, at 1-800-443-2918."  I looked up the 800 number and found this web site.  This site has helped alot to see the call as a scam.  Thanks.  I have never had a credit problem nor has my wife of 12 years.  Can this be stopped?

I've been called numerous times by "Mr. Roberts" (three times this week) and turned them into the National Do-Not-Call registry twice.  Reading the registry, it states they wouldn't contact them for individuals, but may use the complaint as evidence by the police (yeah right).  So I decided to call "Mr. Roberts" myself and got National Action (they never would tell me it was a debt collection service only the name National Action).  Speaking to a "Miss Lever", she said there was not a "Mr. Roberts" there, but maybe a Miss Rogers, who doesn't work there anymore.  I was told that they would remove my name/number from their database.  I asked why it was there to begin with, and they said it was from a file from 2004 (I've never had any financial issues, so that's bogus also). She said we wouldn't be called again.

We'll see...

Messages left almost daily from "unavailable" 716-650-6240. Recorded message states "this is a time sensitive matter that does need your attention. We want to verify that the opportunity to resolve this matter in the correspondence that we have sent you will not be taken advantage of. Again, this is not a call of solicitation. Please call me, Mr Roberts, at 1-800-443-2918." I finally called them back - they said they would continue to call my number until we told them that the person they were looking for did not live here. I asked why they thought they did live here. I've been here 26 years and they never lived here. Of course they wouldn't say. So I told them I would call them everyday to annoy them like they annoyed me.

This is a debt collection agency call. The name of the company is National Action Financial Services. This is the call back number left, but it differs from the number on the caller ID, which is 716-650-6240. The person reaching us from this number is Raymond Oliver. He has been very polite, but also is avoiding giving specific information concerning the alleged debt. The last time we asked, he finally faxed us an unprofessional piece of paper with an account # and had the creditor listed as Cavalry Portfolio Services. I looked them up and they are another debt collection agency. If my husband had a debt, we would be willing to make a deal, but so far these people have failed to give any official documents proving that we owe anything. I've been doing my homework and this company has a very bad reputation. Also, he has stated with concern that the company they are representing will "proceed" (obviously trying to scare us about being sued) if we do not take care of this right away. This supposed credit card debt is 8 or 9 yrs old and the statute of limitations for credit cards is 3 years in this state. If we ever get the name of the company from these people, we will contact them ourselves, because we certainly don't trust this company. Be careful of old debt collection and do your homework! If this debt did exist...it shouldn't even be on his credit report by now.

They call my father several times a week leaving a message about a "time sensitive matter" so he called back. They were trying to reach me on a debt that was settled over 10 years ago. He told them I no longer live there and that the file they are trying to collect on was settled with GreenTree Financial over 10 yrs ago, before they were taken over by Calvary Investments.
Not sure about the rest of you, but my old debt was on a trailer financed thru Green Tree, which that company went bankrupt years ago. Seems they got ahold of old cases and trying to collect on claims they cant legally collect.

Aww looks like one who pays the bills is upset, likes to post on  different 1-800 numbers related to the same company, could someone be trying to be a bully online as well as on the phone,  hope one day it all comes back to bite u in the u know what.  I was a "debt collection specialist too" not a proud occupation if you ask me.  But most who do it grow up and move on to real jobs.  Of course the ones with no education or motivation to do something worthwhile stick with the old collection industry!  The good news is a thing called the fair debt collection act, so people posting, look it up, you have rights, and when you get calls that don't apply to you, you have legal recourse as well. IN SHORT... YOU ALL NEED SOMETHING BETTER TO DO THAN COMPLAIN THAT A LEGITIMATE BUSINESS IS KEPT IN BUSINESS BECAUSE YOU CANT TAKE CARE OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS "ADULTS" AND PAY YOUR BILLS. YOU DO REALIZE THAT THE MORE YOU RACK UP IN DEBT, THE MORE THESE BUSINESSES MAKE OFF OF YOUR STUPIDITY AND LAZINESS. YOU ANNOY COLLECTORS JUST AS MUCH AS THEY ANNOY YOU. BOTH SIDES MAKE ME SICK. IF EVERYONE WASN'T OUT TO FIND A WAY TO NOT PAY THEIR BILLS THEN MAYBE THESE THINGS YOU BI*** ABOUT SO MUCH WOULDN'T HAPPEN... NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT THOUGH DID YOU??? AMONG MANY OTHER FACTORS OF COURSE... ALL THESE UNPAID DEBTS YOU PEOPLE MAKE AND REFUSE TO RESOLVE IS ANOTHER REASON INTEREST RATES ARE SO DAMN HIGH FOR THE REST OF US THAT CHOOSE TO ACT OUR AGE AND TAKE CARE OF THE DEBTS WE INCUR. GROW UP PEOPLE..

Mr. Alltoff from National Action Services has called me many times for no reason at all. Stating this is a critical matter and that I have 24 hours to return his call or they will be taking me to court. I have an excellent credit report and have no idea who this guy is...check out rip off report.com and see what a bunch of scum these predators are!

Do not call them or give them any info.

I hear of scam phone calls all the time.  This is very annoying - I called back told them the person didn't live her and asked them to remove my number so we will see if we still receive calls from them.  I have changed by number numerous times in the past because of company's like this calling.  Its very very annoying and I wish there was something our phone provider could do.

This number has been calling me for several months now asking for someone who doesn't even live here. The man that left threatening messages to call in 24 hours in order to "protect" myself was "Mr. Alltough" (quite fitting lol) at extension 2509. We have told them repeated times that the person does not live here and yet they still continue to call, even before 8 am! I looked up this number online and it definitely does seem like a scam. Do not give them your information, just simply say to stop calling. If nothing else, tell them that person does not live there.

The message on my answering machine stated that a Mr. Bordon from National Action Services had sent me correspondence and left numerous messages trying to collect a past due dept and that I was to return his call immediately to 800-443-2918 extension 2509.
I did have a charge card from 2 years ago that was paid off, with out any thing owed on the account. So why all of a sudden for the past two months are these people and other collection agencies calling me?
