Your info is correct. However, some states have even lower statutes of limitations.

More important is that if you make any payment, no matter how small, it re-validates the debt. Meaning they can then sue you for the entire balance plus interest.

How can these people take money from your bank account without authorization?  I've already contacted my bank, and the fraud division is checking into it.

These people have harassed me for weeks now. They say I owe $629.73 from First Premier Bank. I do not! I went through a divorce 8 years ago and do not in any way acknowledge this debt. They have been violating the FDCPA guidelines. I called and talk to First Premier Bank and they said they sold that account years ago. Under Texas Law the Statute of Limitations on debt is 4 years. That is for Oral Contracts, Written Contracts, Promissory Notes and Open-End Accounts. 2013-2005 is 8 years twice the Statue of Limitations. I have read numerous complaints on this company online that are using any means necessary to try to collect debts, even threaten the person?s life or saying they can have you put in jail. This number calls me looking for my husband. When they asked me to verify the billing address they gave me the name of a street I didn't recognize. I asked my husband about it and he said he'd lived on that street when he was 12. I find it odd that they had his VERY old address and MY recent cell phone number as his information. Can someone tell me what's going on here? I'm afraid to ask questions to these people over the phone about it because there is CLEARLY something fishy going on!

I received a phone call from the number of 918-878-8171 and spoke to a very rude lady. When asked again for her name, she would not tell me. Anyways, she asked for a Brittany and I told them they must have the wrong number. After telling them that, the lady asked why I was concerned with who the company was and why they were calling. I explained to her that if someone was using my number, I have a right to know who the company was and why they were calling because my number is part of my identity. She rudely told me not to worry about It and hung up. I called back and spoke to another lady who just told me they' must have documented the wrong number. Well, I again asked what the company was calling in regards of. She also would not tell me and hung up. I googled the number and was able to get their 800 number. 800-444-8485. I finally got a hold of a service rep only to by all to the exact same lady I spoke to the second the second time.
I again just inquired if I need to be worried about someone using my identity or being a victim of credit theft. She once again would not answer and hung up. Help me with who these rude people are so I can find an authority to make a major complaint on. There was no professionalism at all and I have every right to know why someone is calling me from a an unknown 'business.'

his Kelly phone issue is nonsense. they are ripoff artists. I was asked for the last four digits of my social security number before they even told me clearly who they were and what they wanted. The women on the phone was rude when I asked for this information. Slicked into her quick and rude speal was the bank they say they represent. I said please send all of this in writing. I am not prepared to discuss this without documentation. I have a perfect credit score and know I do not owe anyone any money. I never received anything. When I called the bank and asked about my account, they indicated everything was in order and I did not owe any  money. These people are frauds not different then the typical Nigerian email scams. Do not answer the automated message. let them communicate in writing if they have something to say.

I called Convergent back at 800-444-8485.  Since they intentionally hide their identity on Caller ID (no company name & 855-343-7888), thanks to the person who documented the real company name.  After holding quite a while, I got a rep with a HEAVY foreign accent.  They are calling on an OLD debt for relative now deceased.  The debt has been off the credit report for years & is over 10 years old, so way past the statute of limitations.  They can keep calling, but I feel companies that do this are bottom feeders- the rep KNEW they cannot take any action on debts this old, but they make easy money if you pay.

Do NOT pay a penny to companies like this on debts that have already dropped off your credit reports!  It will take another 7 years for it to again drop off!

These people call me about once every day and they are rude as Hell!  I am going to report them, because they are violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act which says "no calls before 8:00 am and no calls after 9:00 pm and it is $1,000 fine if they do and another $1,000 for harassment after you have repeatedly asked them not to call and another $1,000 for not putting what you actually owe them with the original company you owe in writing, so Kelly I will see you and your "ilk" in small claims court and y'all in jail!

Every state has a different statue of limitations on a bad debt. In California it is 6 or 7 years. You're trying to collect a debt that is now 22 years old. I filed bankruptcy 21 years ago and you still think you can collect from me? I'm sorry that your spaceship had engine troubles while passing this planet and that you're now stuck here but we have laws here. People can run and hide, and even file for bankruptcy  chapter 7 or 13, Once you file and notify the creditors that call you have a bankruptcy lawyer and filed thats the end of it.  Stuff happens and people do get behind and cant catch back up sometimes. Then you get rude creditors like kelly smith calling. It might hurt my credit for a couple years but I filed and am now back to 580 and on my way up! Im glad people like Kelly or any other rude creditors are not getting s*** from me haha!

I received a call from 1-877-317-1200. They said I ordered at&t wireless phone on october 2010 and let me pay the bill. And they also said if you can not pay the bill that will affect your credit score. Due to my poor english, they leave me this phone number: 800-444-8485. I knew they would fraud me. I called the number what they provided. The machine said this is ER solutions.

They keep calling me, too.  Even after they admit their error and take me off their calling list, they keep on calling me.  When I call them back they just hang up on me like CHILDREN.  All the operators have BAD English speaking skills and use improper grammer.  I bet they are all high school drop outs.  They are all LOSERS!

We have had in excess of 32 calls from this Subject. I have a new unlisted phone.  Subject (E.R. Solutions), even though we notified the Subject was calling the wrong phone #, the wrong person(s) name, and that we haven't a clue what the Subject is trying to collect for The Subject does not seem to know either...
Subject further sent a form to our phone: "give us you credit card #" with all the etc's to extract money...
Enough said! This is a "suspect" Subject that needs to be investigated post haste. Is the govt. still open?

I've received a voice mail form 1-800-444-8485 asking for "Thomas T-----", calling form a collection agency, that's not  my name, and I don't know anyone by that name, no idea where they got my phone number from since I only use it for my personal services and very few people have it. I hope they don't start calling all  the time, in case they do I'll be ready to report them and their number.
