This number calls frequently.  I see others have identified it as the American Red Cross, but I don't understand why the CID says toll free caller and they leave no message.

This  phone # ,800-448-3543, calls my phone # @ least 2 times a day, I let my machine pick up, but no one leaves any message & I refuse to answer.

They have multiple #'s and lines. This is the American Red Cross, they are asking for blood donation / trying to schedule appointments.

You know, sometimes I wish that they'd call from the 1-800 number that you're supposed to call them on... and that they'd let you go in and donate when you want.

I actually work for the American Red Cross blood services department. They will keep calling. I have been asking them to stop for 5 years. These are call centers based out of Nebraska and Arizona, so please don't yell at the tech the next time you give blood. We can't stop it, but we can remove your number from our paperwork and that sometimes slows the call centers down a bit. Just a request and a suggestion.

Red Cross? Wow... I thought they were better than this... I just donated blood about a month ago, because they kept calling me so much. Figured they really needed it, and would leave me alone for a bit afterwards.guess I just fell for their ploy. They try to make it seems like they are so grateful to us then they won't stop the annoying phone calls (not to mention the emails- I get about 5 daily from them) I understand they need blood but jeez I don't think I would have enough blood left for myself if I donated as often as they call

Had and extremely long chat with the caller who supposedly wanted to help set me up for a future donation date and time. After having given blood 121 times, I really don't need help remembering that the next donation is eight weeks away. The number called my cell-phone within seconds of ringing my landline number.

So annoying. They call multiple times a day and are just relentless. It's because my mother and brother both donated one time and are O neg. I know this is an important thing but, yeesh! STOP CALLING.

The number that comes up is 1-800 448-3543. they call multiple times of the day BUT every day at 5:30 PM eastern. We leave it go (NO message) but when we pick the phone up, often times they hang up on us, other times we get harresed. What must we do to get this CO. or guy/man to stop?

They call at dinner because they are paid to call between specified hours. Its not the callers fault, they need to put food on their table too. Also the reason they call at supper is it has the highest answer rate.

The line between merciless solicitation and charity work really isn't that fine for them to understand that several calls to one person weekly is unacceptable. The attitude the RC adopts towards its supporters is practically one of harassment.

I've been getting frequent calls from them even when I used to give blood regularly. I started picking up on their predatory telemarketing scheme when they would still call me to schedule even despite my donating double red blood cells. If they're so keen on my safety, why are they calling me to donate before the 120 day wait in-between donations?

I figure I'd stop supporting an organization that doesn't give a s*** about me. I still get calls 3 years later, and I still get a warm, fuzzy feeling ignoring them.

Yep.  You got it right.  It be The 'Merican Red Cross, looking to sign me up for a blood donation.  

I donate regularly at work, yet they seem to call just about the time for another work donation
and try to convince me to go somewhere else to donate blood.  

We've even had long involved phone conversations (I know, I know, I should have just hung up) regarding when I last donated, where I could donate, et cetera.  This even after I told them I sign up at work to donate blood.

I guess giving blood six (6) times a year is not enough for them?  

It would be nice though if they at least left a message when they call indicating who they are AND why they are calling.  

The way that their reach out and touch someone calling group operates makes them look (To me) like they are
some nefarious telemarketing group (Maybe they are?).

That's my story, and I am sticking to it until mid-November when I donate blood again.

I know in PA if you tell them you got a tattoo in state they take you off the list for at least a year

They call twice a day, one call right after the other. They've been doing this for years, even though I asked to be taken off their call list.

If this is the American Red Cross Calling       I stopped giving blood because they messed up my arm almost 3 years ago....went right through the vein.  I was giving a double red donation and I had a half pint of blood pooled in my arm when it was over.  I have not gone back.   They still continue to call and now are calling for my college age daughter who has given once.    Wish that they would stop calling!

This is the Red Cross.  I used the "contact us" form on their web page to complain about these types of calls (hang ups, repeated calls with no message, won't take number off of list for more than a month).  Last month, someone at the Red Cross actually scheduled me for a blood drive close to where I normally donate without my permission or knowledge.  They sent me an email confirming the appointment and telling me to drink extra water, etc.  I was - and still am livid about that.  I think the only way to stop this harrassment by what is otherwise a good and needed non-profit is for everyone to complain directly to the Red Cross, not on pages like this.  Their system of paying the telemarketers per appointment is clearly not working as intended.

Its the Red Cross.. had to call the number back to find out who was calling. Would be nice if they left a message.
