These people call all the time but can never tell me what they want!  They fish for information and when you ask for an official letter or statement, they refuse to provide.  They claim to be Enhanced Recovery Systems and I have never received a bill or a statement.  If you call them back they ask for your social security number, not the last 4 digits, but the whole number!  Illegal!  I finally called them back tonight and miraculously, I have no file, no case number, and they've all of a sudden never heard of me or my phone number.

they are rude and i said not to call and he said he cannot do that  and hung up on me they should be strung up by their toenails for bothering people.

I found the correct address and further info on this immoral, illegal, unethical and unprofessional collection agency. This following information may be very useful to many now and many to come...these people need to learn their lesson on how to treat civilized people who indeed have a life. Do not, I say again, do not give them any checks or credit cards as the collectors there will use them and do fraud. Check for yourself. They have already had incidents on many employees who took the information over the phone and pay their own bills with. This is ridiculous!
They had an office in Ohio which they had to shut down.
Also another in Boston, Mass. Oh!
Let me advise you to. The owner is now driving a bentley and guess where that came from?

I get calls from this and other numbers associated with this bottom feeder.  Have told them numerous times I don't know who they are looking for.  Now I just don't answer it.  I have a list of DO NOT ANSWER numbers by my phone.

They have been calling me for about two months this time. They claim I owe $25 (old AT&T bill) -- called AT&T - no such debt - probably some one else with the same name.  This has been going on for about 2 years - it was another collection agency before that - I guess they just keep selling the alleged debt down the food chain.

they ask me to pay at&t bill. That' the scam. at&t told me don't give them my personal information to them. Next time they call me use the number like 8003055112.

They keep calling and wish they would stop

They keep calling me asking for this woman I don't know. It is always a auto message. This has started about 2 weeks ago and they call every day. I blocked the calls now so my phone will not ring but I sill get the messages. It must be a scam I have read many peoples completes about the same issue.

keep getting calls from this #, 3 or 4 calls a day!!!!.........really annoyed with these a-holes, wish i could send them a bomb over the phone line.  they keep asking for someone i've never heard of, even after telling them such, they still keep calling.  can't anything be done about this company??

The caller asks for someone who does not live here, when told so, the caller begins threatening me...I am getting near daily calls.

Operator was polite and apologetic, and agreed to take my number off the list since I am not the person they wish to speak to. Readily provided company's identity when requested.

Caller leaves message with name  and website (Canot understand either) then gives referance number.
Cannot seem to get back to them.

Just received a call from this number at 8: 28am. Answered the phone, they said please hold for an important message from ARC and then they hung up. Don't know who they are or who they're trying to reach but that is disturbing to call people early in the AM, especially without a live representative readily available.

do what i do download a program called freeeler.exe and insert the telemarketing number and have your computer call them 1000 times or so automatically give the fools what they give you aggravate the heel out of yhem trust me they wont call you again because you end up tie up one of there phone lines hahahahahah also download a program called no sales calls.exe

it will hang up on the first ring of the number you insert in it pretty cool

Advanced Recovery Corporation. They left a vm with a number differing from the CID (which was INVALID) along with a reference number. So, called the number which showed on CID. A fellow answered & when I stated I didn't know why they were calling my number, they said "NAME", which is not me nor do I know the person & stated such. Then asked number which I was calling from, gave it to them as they had it in front of them or couldn't have inquired to that <name> & they stated would remove & not call here anymore. Same thing happened about 2 yrs ago (same company. Told them this was the number assigned to me by phone company, & was incorrect to whom they were trying to contact

800-459-6099 is a scavenger debt collection agency. They buy old, invalid, erroneous debts that were rejected by the more legitimate collection agencies. Then they use intimidation and threats to try to get you to pay. Even if it is not your debt.

Ignore. Or get their address and send a certified and registered cease and desist letter.

Another scam thing going on here.  They don't have the telephone number, address and details as any legitimate firm would have to have.  I have been calling back and burning up the phone line so they cannot make or get inbound calls.  Shawn Dickson was the name of the guy that called early morning here.  Turn them in.  The blogs here have some good suggestions.

The caller wanted to talk to Alan. We get a lot of calls for Alan, who lived at our address about five years ago. I figured the caller was a debt collector. I told him that we did not know Alan and did not even know if he is still alive. I wonder how many years it takes before the debt collectors realize they are not going to get any money out of Alan.

Under the TCPA, a consumer has a right to file a lawsuit and recover $500 for each call that violates the TCPA. The TCPA can also be used in conjunction with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act in some situations.  

Generally, the TCPA does not apply to debt collectors making collection calls to debtors. However, if you are subjected to calls from a debt collector and you are not the debtor, you may file a lawsuit against the debt collector under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the TCPA.

This right was recently recognized by Judge Legrome D. Davis in a case called Watson v. NCO Group, Inc.  NCO Group is a debt collector that uses automated prerecorded collection calls.  In this case, Mr. Watson alleged he was getting hundreds of calls from NCO Group after he got a new phone number. Mr. Watson claimed he owed no debt to NCO Group, Inc.  Mr. Watson filed suit under both the FDCPA and TCPA.

David Israel, defense lawyer for NCO, argued that the TCPA should not apply to debt collectors.  Judge Davis rejected the argument made by David Israel. The judge ruled that Mr. Watson had a right to sue NCO Group Inc under the TCPA for $500 for each call.  Judge Davis wrote;

[The] Court is convinced that a non-debtor's rights are in fact violated when he is subjected to repeated annoying and abusive debt collection calls that he remains powerless to stop.

Judge Davis' ruling was based upon his interpretation that collection calls to non-debtors violate the privacy rights provided by the TCPA.  

So what can you do if you receive "wrong number" calls from debt collectors?

1. Sign up for the Do-Not-Call registry.
2. Save the calls captured by your voice mail or answering machine.
3. Contact a consumer lawyer.

Called this evening and there was nobody on the other end of the line.  I called back, and this is ERC (Enhanced Recovery Solutions or something like that), a debt collection agency.  They were looking for my ex, I gave them her new contact info (ain't I a stinker?).  Representative on the phone was very polite and told me they'd take this number off their list.
