This company calls 3 to 4 times a day and they use several numbers

I just called this # from my cell phone (which is Ala) & I live in IL, I got a live person which I was surprised & I said I was calling to see why they called my landline & he asked for the # and when I gave him the #, he said I don't have that # in my data base; maybe it was by mistake.  He asked did they ask for someone & I told him the mail box was full.  Of course I didn't answer after I saw it was toll free.  If they are a debt collector, I know I don't owe anybody anything.  But I've gotten calls from this # many times before, so if I'm not in your data base, how can you constantly make the same mistakes?  At least he was pleasant.  By the way, the cell phone also with a different name than my landline!

I have been getting unsolicited calls from 1-800-463-9316 for almost a year now. They are looking for someone that I have never heard of and don't know. I've spoken to the people at this number calling me at least six times asking, then demanding, that they stop calling me. They give me the run around, tell me their records show I never spoke to them, hang up on me, then call me again a week later.
It's a collection agency.

This number calls my cellphone at least 10 times a day.  When u answer there is nobody there just a message asking for someone and to hang up if I am not that person.  Hang up 10 minutes later another phone call same message.   How do you get them to stop?

The caller is looking for Saul Martinez. I called them back yesterday and advised that I am not Saul Martinez. The person who answered the call and I advised them I was not the person they were looking for. The person said they would take me off their calling list. Appears this is not true as they keep calling me!

hello send them a letter instructing them to stop calling if they continue  to call hire an attorney and sue them under the fair debt coollection act after you have notified them certified mail every call after that can be worth 1000.00 plus attorney fees

Got a hangup call from this # at 8:45.CID says TOLL FREE CALL. I don't owe anyone anything

Calls from Capital Mgmnt. are computer-generated - which means no 'live' person is listening to your message. Easiest way to make it stop (if you are NOT the person they're seeking) is to call or email them - easy enough to find them on the internet, talk to a real person, and ask politely that they take your name out of the database. If they persist, call again, tell them that you are getting calls at whatever your number is, you are not that person, nor do you know them, and if they continue, you will be contacting the Attorney
General's office in your state (and theirs...). That usually makes them go away....

Canned message demands that a person call them back.  No such person lives here, but they keep calling.

several calls once to twice a day.  Im glad that I never answered the call.  There is never a message left.

Comes up on my caller i. d. once or twice a week.  Today there was only a phone number showing; sometimes it includes Capital Management.  I do not know who these people are nor do I owe any money...I don't know anyone who does owe them money, and I am reporting them to the DO NOT CALL LIST today.

This # was on my cell phone (missed call) on6/3/09@1:25pm.I don't owe any money.But if I keep getting calls from collections people & telemarketing jerks on my CELL# I'll owe Alltel/Verizon!

I've had my phone number about 3 years and I keep getting calls for people I've never heard of..not sure if someone is using my number or if these guys have old old files

I was able to have someone agree to "add my number to the do-not-call list" by calling Cloud & Tidwell at 866-461-2660.

This number left a message asking for me to verify who I am. First it asked for Steve.. I am not Steve they called twice.. I wanna block this number...

You can always file an Attorney General Complaint for the State you are in and I think someone posted they are in Alabama. You do have to file it in both states. Bill collectors are not given much training, they often use an autodialer when making calls. If you answer the phone, the account pops up on their screen. They don't often have time to read old notes on how you told someone else "that person" doesn't live at this number.

Also, if you tell them they have the wrong number they will often just hang up and go back into the dialer as talking to you will not make them any money. They often don't notate that it is a wrong number either... so, surprise you get called again by someone else.

Filing the AG complaint will get the calls to stop. But as the collector above state, the paper will get sold to someone else which starts the ball rolling all over again...


Another thing - never argue or swear at a bill collector, even if you are right. They are the ultimate scumbag armchair quarterbacks who will have no problem tell your parents or grandparents, neighbors, clergy members about your "personal business". If they do that though, you can sue them for violating the FDCPA. Buy a tape recorder from Radio Shack. They plug into your phone and they are great for "trapping" bill collectors who break laws...

In December & January I pressed the number during their robocall message to tell them I wasn't the guy they are looking for. The calls continued every day for a while, then there was a break before they started up again a couple weeks later. So I finally called back and talked to a woman who didn't identify herself even when I asked. She then argued with me and said I had never told them they were calling the wrong number. What's the purpose of the robocall option, then? I told her they are looking for a person who used to have this number a year or two ago, and she finally said they wouldn't call my number again. We'll see.

I just don't answer ;)  And if they leave a message I delete without listening.  I only know of two bills, TD Bank who reopened an account AFTER I closed it and a college that billed me, I paid, and then came 6 months later saying oops we billed the wrong account and I was like, too bad so sad....

Stop calling for Herbert Adams!!! After 3 years living here I am sick of getting calls from collection agencies looking for this man! He does not live here!
