My 89 year old father had this come up on his checking account statement CHECK CRD PURCHASE 01/06 ORGANDONATION&TRAN 800-470-4302 FL. He died soon after, I'm trying to do his taxes and it is nearly impossible to tell if these "donations" are tax deductible with only that bit of info.

My mother is 91 years old with dementia. She had this phone number on a previous credit  card charge from the Florida Association of PAL several months ago. Talked to the credit card company and they reversed the charges. She was scamed out of $400 from her bank account as well. Had to change her bank account and now she doesn't know the account number. Had her phone number changed to an unlisted number, and put on "do not call list". Things were fine for several months, then this month two charges on her credit card popped up from this same 800-470-4302 telephone number. One was for the Florida Association of PAL again. The other charge was for Breast Cancer Relief Foundation. Same, month, same phone number, two different organizations. (1) How are they able to get her new phone number when it is supposed to be unlisted. (2) This phone number has to be a scam because they keep coming after the elderly, and have charges for different organizations from the same phone number, even in the same month. THIS HAS TO STOP.

This number has been referenced on my mother's credit card and also in her checking account under names like the Kansas Narcotics Office and Kansas Missing and Exploited Children.  Each time that I call this number, I get a recording by Maureen that says to leave a message and she will return the call.  I will be calling the BBB as well as calling her credit card and her bank to get this stopped.  How can this continue when so many people are getting scammed????

Found two charges on my 81-year-old mother-in-law's credit card with this phone number on it. One from National Police Athletic ($30) and one for Committee Missing Children ($25). What a scam.

It was a fundraising call from another "badge fraud" solictation targeting the elderly - this time from the American association of State Troopers in Florida. Fortunately I have email alerts every time a charge is made on my mother's card. I called immediately to cancel.

Took me for $25.00 I should of known better...

A charge from the Military Purple Heart appeared on my elderly mother's credit card.  I called the above number and the woman on the line assured me they had talked to my mother and she had given them her credit card number.  When I told her I was sure my mother didn't intend to make this donation, she credited the account and put my mother's number on their do not call list.  She wasn't unpleasant and didn't argue, but I can see from this website that they do prey on the elderly and I'm glad I found out about it.

Someone from this number called and got 2 credit card donations from my 95-year old aunt.  I called and left a message on the 800-470-4302 and got a woman's voice saying I could leave a message.

               Last week I got a call from this number for the first time..........they called from Maricopa Police Dept. that guy was keep pushing me to donate atleast $100/50 to the Maricopa Plice dept. PHX,AZ. After he was saying so many things i got lil nervous and gave $20 using my Credit card........ and on the same day i put my phn number in DO NOT CALL list....... hopefully they don't call me again........ from now if i get ANY stupid call then i will go ahead and file complain to FTC (Federal Trade Commision)........... for all of you who don't know...... please have the company's name, the person called you his/her name & ID #, and the phn # that they called you from........... before complain to FTC. They handle those stuffs pretty strickly.......I GUESS!

These people are taking my parents money, soliciting money from my father with dementia. Please stop this!

My mother-in-law has charges on two different credit cards with this phone number attributed to several charities: Purple Heart, National Cancer Coalition, Montgomery Firefighters, Chidlren's Cancer Research, United Breast Cancer, Committee Missing Children and National Police Athletic League.
The thing is, she doesn't even have her credit cards in her possession, so there's no way she could have given them her number over the phone. They must have gotten it some other way.

Call came claiming Child Leukemia Research. When I try to access their website, it crashes Internet Explorer, so I asume it's a hoax.

My father donated $20 using his Credit Card.  I am calling them to try and have the charge reversed.

Our number is on the DO NOT CALL list - how the *$%? can the call us?  My father is elderly and continually gets tricked into this nonsense.  I hope these people rot in hell.

i dialed the number but it just kept ringing.  not sure where they're located but we're on the west coast so they should be open.  i'm going to dial again because if i can get my mom's donation back as well as have her name removed from their 'do not call' listing would rest in my mind a little easier even though we will con't to screen her calls.  thanks for giving me a little hope and i will con't to dial that number until somebody answers.

they called and talked my mom into donating to CA Police Activities.  what's dangerous is my mom doesn't know her checking account but they managed to collect $50 from it.  we're going to the bank to see what can be done bacause the idea of these people knowing her account number is very scary!

Same situation.  The second time I called, "Maureen" answered and kindly removed my mother's name from "the do not call list".  Had to ask her to credit the amount back.  Evidently they have their own do not call list,    I had already put her on what I thought was a do not call list.... I hate the way all these people take advantage of the elderly.  I am constantly throwing out pledges she gets in the mail....

The call came from "Children's Cancer Research." The Children's Cancer Research Fund disavows any such effort (see their website) and says it is making efforts to stop telemarketers using similar names.
