I very stupidly got caught up in the whole travel scam thing and purchased a "package" .  after a month and no  luck with the seller of the "package" I called my credit card and got the charges reversed.  Then the so-called "owner" called Louis calls and threatens to sue.  Ha, what a farce.  I reported this so-called rip off Tropical Travel to the Florida BBB and the police.  You just need to know your rights as a consumer.  Basically no merchandise received equals a refund if paid through  your credit card.

This scum bag continually faxes and as anyone here already knows, calling the removal number is pointless and may even result in a charge on your phone bill. Never buy anything from an unsolicited faxer.

Faxes us again January 16, 2008 for travel (Orlando 5 day/4 nights)
They do NOT remove, despite what their "message" saying that they have removed you already. So you call their phone number 1-800-471-2599, the man does not identify himself, nor the company and speaks to you in a very abrupt manner, then hungs up on you when you try to explain how you do not want to be bothered anymore. Can you imagine what kind of trip this would be ? Only if you would like to be scrooed !

I have received a fax from this 800-471-2599 each week for about the last four months.  I have called the fax removal number to no avail.  I finally called the 800-471-2599 and demanded to know the name of the company, their address and the names of the officers/owners of the company.  The person at the other end took offense and shouted back at me to "act like a man and not like a child" and then hung on me.  I called him right back and told him that if he did not have my fax number removed I would hunt him down like a rabid dog and put him out of his misery.  He asked me for my name which I refused to provide (he was datamining:  they will sell any info they get) and he determined my surname by his call display, but assured me that he would get in touch with their faxing company and have my company number removed.  I will see next week.  \
I have found the infomation from various respondants of this site helpful and will track this puppy down and put him in a kennel to be put down.

After a multitude of fax SPAM day after day after day, only one phrase comes to mind:  "If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is."

Don't give scumbags like this the satisfaction, take your fax paper and line the bottom of the bird cage with it.  Losers like this don't stop when you ask, how else would they make their money?  Not like the average human being by getting a real job.

Cheers!

I just got faxed by them, usually i send 10 to 50 taoatlly balck pieces of paper to a spam faxer that says in very small white print, don't fax me anymore, .............., my fax number, so far  taht has worked very well. You may ask how do I get totally black peices of paper, well I printed 5 and I stand by my fax machine and keep re-feeding the same papers, I saved a set and keep re-using it.

I have a very cheap long distance rate so although it does cost me some money, this method is very effective. They don't like someone wasting their ink either.

One prblem here is that I do not have their fax #, I may try to track it down.

Can anyone help me find it?

Idea, if we set our fax machine to reapeatedly fax to them a page that says, "don't fax us anymore", send fax to 800-471-2599 and to 866-567-1507, do this between the hours of 9:00Am East coast time and 9:00 PM pacific time, that will help. What will happen I think is that we will not get a fax machine or probably any answer to the incoming fax, but it may tie up their line and make it uncomfortable for them, it should not cost you any money because no one will answer. This is just and idea to stop criminals from breaking into our fax machine ink and robbing us.

We bought the same package in June 2008 at the same price.  We haven't been able to use it thus far but are ready to use it now.  We are also unable to contact them and came across your message when looking for more information on the internet for this company.  Were you ever able to contact them and able to take your vacation, and was everything per their offer?

Here is info if you have been scammed by someone and paid money its a link to the FBI and Dept. of Justice to report Internet Fraud and Crimes.     http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

Best thing to do is not reply to them because that tells them that you are a valid number. And the same with emails also but these faxes or calls to the number for example. to be removed call this number 800xxx.xxxxxx to unsubscribe or be removed is a way to verify you are a working phone number.

They had the same opt out phone number as a more recent fax, but a different "reservation" line.  The opt out number is 866-567-1507.  The other "reservation" number is 877-260-5558.  I am keeping a folder with the faxes and the dates I call the opt out number.  I will also report them to the FCC. FCC complaint address is  https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/consumer.do .

Unless expressly authorized by the phone's owner, these faxes are illegal. You all obviously have internet capability. File a complaint with the FCC on line at:   https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/consumer.do

The more people that file, the sooner they get shut down.

Do not call. Do not opt out. That only verifies your number. *67 does NOT block your number from them - either land line or cell

travel package fax scam 1-800-471-2599  caller id shows 1-215-567-0000 (landline in philadelphia)...  order taker used foul language... said he was in Bahamas and call would cost 90 cents a minute as it was NOT a free call to the Bahamas, so he would talk all day to burn my money!  Fax removal number is french/english (why bother if they ignore it anyway?)

Probably this is associated with Alan Ralsky and his gang of criminals involved in spamming/scamming and identity theft. Ralsky gets arrested but never seems to spend time in prison where he belongs. He laughs at the legal system which needs to tighten up their prosecutions of criminals like him. Ralsky should already be spending the rest of his life in a jail cell.

But it's time to focus on heavily fining the phone companies that are enablers to these criminals by providing phone service for these scams.

See Dec 28 post and mine.  Pretty sure it's Tropical Vacations near Orlando, not an Ontario based company.  Another victim reported the number to the RCMP, who, he says, is takjing action.  Reverse look-up of the number is expensive ($14 or so) and hardly worth the effort.

I suspect Louis is getting referrals from a travel site we both use. I use expedia and hotwire a lot, but doubt that they would knowingly refer us.  I do a lot of travel surfing though, and I'm wondering whether we have both gone tot he same internet site.  Let me know if anything jogs your memory.

Fax Machine
Jan 9: called fax number removal number (866) 486-9743; message said number was already deleted.
Jan 11: (after another identical fax): called the above number; male promised to delete my fax number.
Jan 13: (after another identical fax): called the above number; female promised to delete my fax number.
Jan 15: (after another identical fax): called the above number; asked for President's name, name of company, address; male hung up mid-sentence.  Searched online: found BBB report from Central Florida: www.orlando.bbb.org/codbrep.html?ID=142218234&cons=y.  Indiana State is suing on behalf of 134 residents who received unsolicited faxes.  Principal is Louis Quiles: http://www.seminolesheriff.org/en-us/advisori ... njn9fn05m3asp47
After several attempts to call back using my landline - "all lines are busy", I called using my cellular, got through, obtained another promise from the same male to remove my fax number.  When I challenged him and said I doubted that he would, he yelled "Shut up!"
If this operator is as nasty as the record reveals, my advice is to just quietly accept the continued barrage of faxes. Or maybe pay for call-blocking if your telephone company offers it.  It might be worth the savings in printer ink.

repeated faxes - when i call both numbers to have them remove us, i get a rud eperson on the live line and a french canadian taped voice on the other telling me that our number has already been removed - my experience is that the ontario laws are toothless and therefore useless when it comes to our complaints - these people know this and so it just continues
