Weird that they ask for your last 4 social first when you call back. Why??? Plus I have two major companies watching my account they have not contacted me. Why this number??? Odd rather go to the bank in person.

I received this same call today. They detected fraudulent activity - card was used in 2 different states(I live in neither of them). However, what made me question the call.. I had just spoken to a Bank of America representative 2 minutes prior to this call. The first person did not mention any of the 2 fraudulent charges. So I called BoA(spoke to a third representative) and had my credit card cancelled. I am awaiting my new card with a different number now.  Beware!

Bank of America fraud department...noticed unauthorized usage (or attempted usage) on my card.

I called  my BofA on line banking and verified that the phone call from their fraud dept. was received ,stated my account is okay, phone number unrecognized, Be Alert with this number.

I called the # on the back of my BofA card and they verified that the phone call was a legitimate call from their fraud unit and had notes in my account.

Credit card fraud alert for Bank of America. Legitimate call and, unfortunately, the fraud check was needed.  This is probably NOT any bank but a big transaction processor many credit card agencies use.  Ergo, MBNA and BoA from the same number.

My elderly grandmother receive a call from this number and I have tried to call it back and have been told that it was Bank of American and then when I called back again am told that it is FIA Card Service?

Is this a scam?

Yes...this is a legitimate phone # for MBNA Bank. They noticed a questionable usage on my credit card and notified me.

Saw fraud use on my card and notified me prior to billing my acct.
