For anyone else who happens to Google this number, Verizon just gave it to me for tech support, so it is a legit Verizon number.

received this email also regarding late payment.  Called that number listed, went thru lots of menu items, then connected to the number which ran on and on about Verizon services (such as hi-speed internet, etc.). the call timed up to 30 minutes per my phone so i hung up and called *611 on my phone.  Reported it to them. Of course it is bogus, but be sure your phone and services are not charged for the time used.

I got an email referencing this number, I think it's phishing.  The email is from "Billingservices@verizon.net", not verizon.com.  If you get this email don't answer or call the number:

IMMEDIATE ACTION IS REQUIRED TO AVOID TERMINATION OF ALL OF YOUR VERIZON
SERVICES INCLUDING INTERNET ACCESS SERVICE!

letter from Verizon in the next few days detailing your account information,
past due balance and proposed date of termination.

It is bogus!!!  They post themselves as Verizon.  The number answers as Verizon.  I am a Verizon customer not past due and not in default.  When you get to the point of giving them a credit card number it will not post to your account!  Beleive Me it's a rip-off!!!

I called back and it's Verizon. I am two days late with my payment.
