These overbearing collectors keep calling and harassing me even after I told them to STOP! I'm fed up with them and have notified the FTC about their illegal practices!

I got a call from these scumbags too! The debt isn't even mine! I've forwarded a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission per my Attorney General's websites advice. First I asked for proof which they would not provide. Then I asked them to stop calling and they kept calling again and again!

I keep getting calls from this 800-730-6810...soo I googled it and got this website. I am glad to see that I am not in this boat alone. I have worked on my FICO, so I know there isn't anything out there. Thank you guys for keeping it real.

Click on each one that says "Collection Agency." American Agencies have various addresses in various states. And the BBB gives many of these addresses a BBB "F" rating which means, "We strongly question the company?s reliability for reasons such as that they have failed to respond to complaints, their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the law?s licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations, or the company?s industry is known for its fraudulent business practices."

1 800 730 6810 Used another number a while back, but same lowlife company. First not identifying themselves, just "Customer Care" baloney with identifying name of company. Now they say their name in the taped messages.

Same messages as others posted above here. We just delete their voicemails. Our credit reports are clear. They are bogus. What stupid business practice is it, to harass you with frequent TAPED messages, and then treat you rudely or leave you on hold? They think this is the way to do business or get results? They can't send a formal notice in the mail, like an actual business letter, delineating what they are contacting you about? Why these underhanded harassing taped messages? They don't behave like a reputable business. We're not going out of our way to contact them. They are not being upfront or businesslike at all. We're not playing their games. ZAP! Deleted!

Called back and left on hold for several minutes then hung up

Got an operator quickly but was very rude and kept talking over me and just put me on hold and I hung up.  Their website has typos, too.

"Hi this is Carol The Message Center, we have a personal matter to discuss with you.  Please return our call today at 1-800-730-6810.  Once again, that number is 1-800-730-6810.  Thank you.". They called 3 days in a row. So I called them. Apparently these morons buy old, inactive, delinquent accounts and try to put them back on your credit record. Considering I just got printouts of all my credit reports and the account they were trying to collect on wasn't on any of them I am certainly not going to pay them ( I just bought a house so now I'm sure old accounts are gonna come to haunt me). The fool I talked to said he would send me a "packet" to deny knowledge of the account they were trying to collect on. Gonna take 2 weeks. We shall see.

The message they left(several times):

 They were looking for a different person at my phone number, as also reported above. It seems that they do NOT do their home work very well.

They didn't leave a message but my caller ID showed that they had persistently called over several days.  When I called them back they were looking for somebody with a different name at my phone number.  I asked who they were and they said American Agencies, as reported above.  They said they are a collection agency, but since the person they're looking for is not connected to my number, they'd remove it from the database and to give them 48 hours.  We'll see...

GOT A MESSAGE TO CALL 800 730 6810 ABOUT A PERSONAL MATTER ? I DO NOT HAVE CREDIT PROBLEMS, FICO SCORE 750  IF THIS IS A COLLECTION AGENCY I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THEY ARE CALLING ME. I CALLED THE NUMBER TO SEE WHAT THIS WAS ABOUT AND WAS ON HOLD FOR OVER 5 MINUTES, FINALLY GAVE UP AND HUNG UP!!  IF THIS IS REALLY THAT IMPORTANT WHY DON'T THEY HAVE A LIVE OPERATOR CALL ??
