This is really rediculous.  some guy called "Scott" called me and said he is from the D&B...Had a hard punjabi accent...i was unable to understand what he was asking for..Repeatedly he was asking "can i give him something"..this sounds really bad and i felt very ambarrased...i replied that i am not that kind of lady..he left a call back number to me when i tried calling up..had some ringtone saying "Baag DK Bose, Baag DK Bose"...is it a joke or what

Called them back. Just big brother trying to verify business info.

Recd a call from lady named Paula...Her staring script was "HI this is Paula from D&B and this is not a sales call"... I really do not understand what is going on.  Answering her questions herself

Whenever you try speaking to the supervisor, there is some guy with a thick indian accent (Kanpuria) accent.

Ya.  I really do not understand why people keep calling and say they are really from D&B.  They leave voice mails and whenever we tryin' calling them up, there is no greeting message and never receive a call back..  Sounds really fishy to me

Got a call from a gentleman by the name of Alan (of which I had to have him repeat as I could not understand him!) and he stated that he was calling from D&B.  He stated that we had vendors who were questioning why our company credit info was not correct and would like to speak with a manager to verify it.  All of out company info is correct with all our vendor and when I tried to get more information out of him, he hung up on me.

I received a call from 800 498 0170 x46336. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, they refused. If this is REALLY Dun & Bradstreet, that would not happen....or maybe it's the bad business practices of the foreign company they have outsourced.

Either way...NEVER give out financial information to anyone over the phone...especially if THEY are calling YOU with BAD or VERY OLD company information.

I tried to call the number back. You must enter an extension and only talk to the person who called you.

This number actually belongs to Dun & Bradstreet.  D&B has its location worldwide and their one of the centers are location in India too.  This location deals with US businesses. I've worked with them and know that they are originally calling from D&B.  So, if next time, you receive a call from them, please be cooperative and provide infomation, as this is going to help your organization only.  It will help you to enhance your business.

Was contacted by someone a very strong accent and claiming they were with Dun & Bradstreet call us repeatedly asking what was the name of our business (when we are only farmers), my name, and to spell it.  They stated they needed proof we were a business.   After repeating and respelling this information about three times, they hung up.  Then the next day they called again and left a voicemail requesting to call 8004980170 and left an extension number.  We listened several times to the voicemail, but could not clearly understand the male caller's name nor clearly determine the extension number that we were to call back.  We called the number and did not receive a live person, only a recording saying we had reached "D & B" and "to enter the extension number now."  No live person or even any other options or information at that.  We only received an answering machine to leave a message, not even identifying who we had called.  We left full information as well as an alternate number to contact but have yet two days later to hear anything else.  IF they are indeed from Dun & Bradstrett, you would think that they would at least higher Americans with clear and distinquished voices as well as follow up on their calls.

i received a call from this number and i do not have a business i am afraid that someone has my information any advised on what to do or should i ignore this help please.

Got a ton of voicemails and actually talked to a real person from the "company" They told me they were verifying information but could not tell me for who.  As soon as the questions started getting a little too personal, ie. financial type questions, I put a stop to it. They hung up right away. Beware.

Outsourced caller using the name "Norman" called our office looking to confirm the address of our corporate office (not our location) and other data-farming questions. I figured he was one more magazine salesman, told him he had the wrong number, and hung up. He called back and claimed he was calling from Dun and Bradstreet and that their clients are looking for information on us. I told him I could barely understand a word he was saying (his accent was particularly thick,) so he turned up the phone's volume. I gave him the number for the corporate office. He calls a third time several minutes later to complain about reaching voice mail.  I find it very doubtful that he is calling from D&B, whose callers one would think would at least be intelligible.

two different women with distinctly indian accents called wanting to confirm business info.  sounds scammish when i don't have a business.

Just got a call from a gentleman named Aaron from D & B.  Had a thick Indian accent and struggled when I asked his name.  Gave 1-800-498-0170 Ext. 25132. Wanted to verify company business info. Told him to get lost.

I have got a message from a guy called "Ricky" to ask to call back if we are a business and left a phone number 1800-498-0170 ext 25157. His english sounds "ok" in the voice message though... At first, i thought he said he was calling from "DMV", and tried to call back but the extension does not working and kept returning back to the greeting voice.
Then after i did research on this phone number, i think this is a scam or something and they would have got our phone number somewhere. Plus, this call happened to be about two month after I registered my buiness. anyway, still not a very trust phone number to me.

Called and was trying to get alot of information about our business. This is a SCAm

Got a voicemail from an Indian woman named Pamela from D&B, saying it was urgent that I call back to update company info.  Sounded  pushy.

Got a call today from a woman named 'samantha' , she had a very heavy indian accent.   Hard to understand her, but she said something about  'updating our business info in their database'
Told her the owner was not available and she said to call back 1-800-498-0170 x 25074
I could tell she was reading the call back number to me from either her computer screen or a print out

I got a call from Peter this morning from D&B left a message. When I called it back there was no live person there to take the call the intro message just kept repeating: "thank you for calling D&B please dial the ext of the person you would like to reach. I dialed "Peters" extension, there would be a silence for about 20 seconds and the message would come back on ("thank you for calling D&B please dial the ext of the person you would like to reach). Seems like fraud or scam.
