Sounds like phone phishing.

I recieved a call from this number looking for my boyfriend. They would not give me any information, just told me it was regarding a "personal business matter".

Much like another report, they originally called from 732-379-5530. Said the call was for my husband and he should call them at 800-510-5242. Said NOTHING as to what the call was concerning...What, do they think we're all stupid?

Keep getting calls from this company. Theyre trying to get me to pay off an $8100 debt to US Department of Education.  After numerous calls, I finally broke it down into simple terms for these idiots. "Look lady, I didn't even finish high school, yet alone go to college, so why in the heck (censored) would I owe anybody in the Department of education"???  Informed them I was reporting their practices to the Trade Commission and hung up on the person. They actually have left detailed messages that start off, "if you are not "so and so" please hang up, if you are so and so we are trying to collect a debt in the amount of $$$  for _______.  Now i know THAT has to be illegal to leave a detailed messageabout a debt like that without even knowing where or with who the are leaving this message.

Calls early in the morning. They were told to stop and continued. tried to get me to verify ss #.

They called for my ex-husband. The number they are calling has never been his and when I call back, I am put on hold forever. This is a bunch of bull.

(800) 510-5242 is Pioneer Credit Recovery in Newark New Jersey. They call you on an outgoing number (862) 902-5110 claiming to be a potential customer and often use the name "John Lirolfe".

Other people have reported that the 800 number has also been used in any number of phone fraud schemes recently (like emptying your bank account). They claim to be a debt collection agency at times, ask you to verify your personal information and then they clean you out.
