I was in the same position as many of you, with the exception of that I had the foresight to protect myself before sending the money.  I had sent the finds via email money transfer and withing 15 minutes of sending the money, I found this thread and cancelled the transfer.

Whilst processing the "loan documents" I gave them the line that my Email was being stupid and would not let me attatch the files.  I then provided links to the documents on my personal web server.  In the Email i told him i would only send his funds once he confirmed the documents were received.

Once he downloaded ( or rather attempted to) the doccuments, i was left with a nice little trail in my log file showing me he was on a apple Iphone ( safari mobile browser) and i also logged 2 seperate IP address that belong to Wind mobile in southern Ontario.  This coincides with the fact he was accessing it from an Iphone.

This, combined with date and time stamps from the web server will provide the Canadian anti fraud center and the RCMP the actual subscriber name and address on the Wind mobile account to which the ip addresses were registered at that exact date an time.  Basically, this F*#$@er is going down.

If this is from a American company/phone number, you can still report it to both agency's.

Federal Trade Commission:
www.stopfraud.gov/report.html
Phone: 1 (877) FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357)

I think this has the links for Canada agency's as well.

Thank you for the reply. I will report them in hopes nobody else gets scammed by them, but i'm guessing I'll never see the $ i sent them ever again...it's bad enough I'm having financial troubles and was desperate enough to search for an online loan, but now I'm also out the $750 I had to borrow to send to them...I guess there's no justice in this world..

Just wanted to add a final comment to my original post-

Heronview original number was 1-877-429-0002...I tried calling them after so had sent them the $742.80 payment and the number was "temporarily out of service"..so I sent an email basically salon them what the hell was going on...at that point I thought I'd been scammed...but "Andrea Parker" sent me an email later that day with a new phone number (when I called the new number she said they were "updating their phone system" and that's why the number changed)

Here is a copy of the email she sent me-

Dear (I blocked out my name)

Due to a mechanical failure with our previous phone system, we were not able to upgrade our phone system without a temporary disruption with our phone lines. Please feel free to contact your Loan representative at Andrea Parker 1(877) 232-4440 Ext 493. Sorry for any inconveniences that may have been caused.

Kind regards,
Andrea Parker ? Senior Loan Advisor

After posting my original comment on here I decided to go on their website and see if they changed the number on there. They didn't.

http://www.heronviewgroup.com

So I decides to call the 877-232-4440 number and guess what? The number is no longer in service...these people are scam artists and I hope nobody gets ripped off like I did. And I would still appreciate any info on places I can report these people.

It is illegal to ask you to pay money upfront to get money!

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0078-advance-fee-loans

Some red flags can tip you off to scam artists? tricks. For example:

A lender who isn?t interested in your credit history. A lender may offer loans or credit cards for many purposes ? for example, so you can start a business or consolidate your bills. But one who doesn?t care about your credit record should worry you. Ads that say ?Bad credit? No problem? or ?We don?t care about your past. You deserve a loan? or ?Get money fast? or even ?No hassle ? guaranteed? often indicate a scam.

Banks and other legitimate lenders generally evaluate creditworthiness and confirm the information in an application before they grant firm offers of credit to anyone.

Fees that aren't disclosed clearly or prominently. Scam lenders may say you?ve been approved for a loan, then call or email demanding a fee before you can get the money. Any up-front fee that the lender wants to collect before granting the loan is a cue to walk away, especially if you?re told it?s for ?insurance,? ?processing,? or just ?paperwork.?

Legitimate lenders often charge application, appraisal, or credit report fees. The differences? They disclose their fees clearly and prominently; they take their fees from the amount you borrow; and the fees usually are paid to the lender or broker after the loan is approved.

And if a lender says they won?t check your credit history, but wants your personal information, like your Social Security number or bank account number? Go somewhere else. They may use your information to debit your bank account to pay a fee they?re hiding.

A loan that is offered by phone. It is illegal for companies doing business by phone in the U.S. to promise you a loan or credit card and ask you to pay for it before they deliver.

A lender who uses a copy-cat or wanna-be name. Crooks give their companies names that sound like well-known or respected organizations and create websites that look professional. Some scam artists have pretended to be the Better Business Bureau, a major bank, or another reputable organization; some even produce forged paperwork or pay people to pretend to be references. Always get a company?s phone number from the phone book or directory assistance, and call to check they are who they say they are. Get a physical address, too: a company that advertises a PO Box as its address is one to check out with the appropriate authorities.

A lender who is not registered in your state. Lenders and loan brokers are required to register in the states where they do business. To check registration, call your state Attorney General?s office or your state?s Department of Banking or Financial Regulation. Checking registration does not guarantee that you will be happy with a lender, but it helps weed out the crooks.

A lender who asks you to wire money or pay an individual. Don?t make a payment for a loan or credit card directly to an individual; legitimate lenders don?t ask anyone to do that. In addition, don?t use a wire transfer service or send money orders for a loan. You have little recourse if there?s a problem with a wire transaction, and legitimate lenders don?t pressure their customers to wire money.

Finally, just because you?ve received a slick promotion, seen an ad for a loan or credit card in a prominent place in your neighborhood or in your newspaper, on television or on the Internet, or heard one on the radio, don?t assume it?s a good deal ? or even legitimate. Scam artists work hard to make you think they're legitimate, so it?s really important to do your homework.

Dealing with Debt
If you have debt problems, try to solve them with your creditors as soon as you realize you won?t be able to make your payments. If you can?t resolve the problems yourself or you need help to do it, you may want tocontact a credit counseling service. Nonprofit organizations in every state counsel and educate people and families on debt problems, budgeting, and using credit wisely. Often, these services are free or low-cost. Universities, military bases, credit unions, and housing authorities also may offer low- or no-cost credit counseling programs.

I got scammed by Andrea Parker at Heronveiw Equity Managembet group too...I applied for long term payday loan and it an email from Heronview. Was told exact same thing everyone else was...send first 5 mints payment up front ($742.80) and I would receive my $7000 loan direct deposit into my bank account within 25 hours. Once I didn't receive the $7000 I became skeptical and started researching online loans and from everything so read if a loan place tells you to pay up front- IT'S A SCAM. Don't do it...the reason the get you to send money via Western Union is because it cannot be traced. If you send them money with a cheque or something similar, they can be charged with fraud. If the money is sent with Western Union, there's nothing that can be done about it.

I called Andrea Parker back and asked her about why my loan wasn't deposited. She told me I was now requested to send another $850 to cover insurance of loan. I told her I was not willing to do that since everything I had read told me the pay up front loans are a scam. She assured me that Heronview Equity Management Group was a very reputable company and there was nothing to worry about. I told her again I was not willing to pay anymore money up front and the contract they had sent and so signed and returned to them said nothing about additional fees, so she told me she would cancel my loan and the $742.80 would be returned to my bank account with 5 business days. After 5 business days went by I called back and told her I still had not received my money and she told me it would be returned in 5 to 15 business days...I said I was quoted 5 and was NEVER told anything about 15 days, she told me that's always what it's been.

It's Sunday night and of the money is not on my account by tomorrow morning, that means the 15 days have passed..I've sent Heronview Equity Group 2 emails asking for them to send me something in writing as proof that they will return the $742.80 as promised, and I have received no response.

I strongly suggest that NOBODY does business with this company...and if anyone in Canada (specifically Ontario) can let me know of anywhere I can report this company for fraud I would appreciate it. I've seen the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre website but so think they just report the company online and I've also heard so can report them to the RCMP but I'm sure they have other things to do besides try and recover $750 for me, so I'm hoping to hear any other suggestions of where I can file a complaint against them.

And I repeat- DO NOT ACCEPT LOAN OFFER FROM HERONVIEW EQUITY MANAGEMENT GROUP!!

thank god for this thread!!! i knew that it was too good to be true. i needed a credit card bill settled asap as it went to collations already. looking thru online where i can get a bad credit loan and this "smart-loans.net" website came up. i applied as I'm so desperate already. next day i got an email and a call from "HERONVIEW EQUITY MANAGEMENT" that my loan was forwarded to them and that it has been approved for $10000CAD. so i got surprised as my credit is really bad but i said what the hell i might be paying a high interest that is why i got approved. so i called a girl named "ANDREA PARKER" and she went over the details of my loan. she said that i would just be paying 7.45% interest. so i said WTF....really that is great! and then she mentioned the same MO like everyone else on here. i had to forward them the first 5 mos payment as collateral for me to receive the loan. i agreed but a little bit iffy about it so she forwarded me the loan agreement and insurance. but i told her that i will be getting the money next week still. thank god i did not have the money right now or else i would have been scammed too. and thats where i sit right now. i would play these effing people next week and threaten them. it was too good to be true that is why i started investigating about them. here is their contact number 1(877) 429-0002 Ext 493.

i hope these people suffer the rest of their lives because of doing this. never trust anyone that will ask for money upfront in return of a bigger money.

Hey guys and gals!!   I was scammed by these mother f****rs!!!!    Was dealing with a website "Addington Capital Management" which they stated was from a company out of London, ON and out of New York.    I was called by a guy named Edward Barns from a number on my display reading 1-800-807-3120.   It was for a loan for $10,000 and I had to pay my first 4 months collateral of $794.88.   Being vulnerable I fell for it as I needed the money.  Website seemed legit, Edward trusted my trust right off the bat and here we were trying to get the funds for this collateral.   3pm came the next day and no transfer or funds were in my account.    I have never felt so effing stupid, but until you are in my shoes or need cash as bad as I need cash with a horrible credit rating these a***oles prey on the weak and I'm now on of them.    Should have clued in when I tried calling their NY number only to have the same London, ON extension work for the same Edward Barns.    Thank god it was only for $794 and not thousands, but still I live pay to pay and this has hurt me huge for the next few weeks.    Edward Barns is nothing but a f****ng a***ole and should be shot and pissed on for taking advantage of the weak.    Anyone reading this???   ADDINGTON CAPITAL MANAGEMENT is nothing but a scam...even though they have a very nice looking website that seems legit.     If you havent been scammed and want to catch the a***oles??   call the number and state your name and you'll be answered quickly.  They don\t touch me anymore as I bitched them out.    Don't think there is anything I can do about the lost $794 either so let this be a life lesson for all of those in my shoes...Its not worth it and I'm sorry to say that I fell for it.    Hope Karma kills these mother f****rs!!!   I really do.   F*** you Edward f****ng Barns you c*** sucking f**got.

Yes I recently had just applied for a loan and got approved for 10000 Canadian. And if it is 100% legit....cause what i have read so far about this company people are saying it is a big scam and you won't receive your money....how can know for sure...?

On Tuesday December 4th, 2012 I applied for a Debt Consolidation loan on the smart-loans.net website. On Wednesday December 5th 2012 a Sales Agent by the name of Sarah Mitchell called me to discuss the loan. She said I was pre-approved for a $10,000 Debt Consolidation loan. She provided me with three options to get the loan. Option 1 was to put up $10,000 worth of Collateral. Option 2 was to have a co-signer put up $10,000 worth of Collateral. Option 3 was to pay loan insurance in the amount of $695 and this would be a 12 month credit insurance plan. She said with this plan, her company will be my co-signer and as long as I made my monthly payments of $191.17 on time each month for 12 months that this would be reimbursed to me. She also informed me that once the received this payment via Western Union that I would receive the $10,000 loan via direct deposit into my checking account within 2 hours.
I was very skittish about this being that they were asking me to send money to Canada and I expressed my concerns to Sarah. She assured me that there was nothing to worry about. She stated that she would not have called me if I didn?t apply for the loan. She stated that she did not call me out of the blue and that her company was a successful financial institution. She told me to research their website and she also agreed to send me a brief copy of the terms and conditions so that I can review before going forward.
After 36 hours of debating this Sarah finally talked me into sending the $695. She had me send this money to a Tracy Moore in Ajax ON Canada. I sent this amount on December 6th, 2012 at 4:03 PM ET and Tracy Moore picked up the funds on December 6th, 2012 at 6:30 PM ET.
2 minutes after the money was picked up I received a call from a John/James Taffy who stated that he was the Executive Manager (also Sarah?s Manager) and he needed to discuss my loan with me. I thought this would be to process the loan since I sent the money and they received it. But instead he said that the bank pushed back my loan and has requested an additional $625 for the loan. He stated that they ran a second credit check and wanted a loan insurance payment of a total of $1320. Mr. Taffy also stated that he could waive only $200 of this and would need me to send another $425 in order for me to receive the loan. I explained to Mr. Taffy that I sent them all the money I had and that in the agreement they sent to me stated that once I sent the $695 that I would receive $10000 into my bank account within 2 hours. He stated that this was not his fault, nor Sarah?s, nor mine. That this was a request from the bank and there was nothing they could do.
I told him I did not have any more money to send. He told me to get a payday loan for the additional funds and then I could pay it right back with the $10000 loan. I stated that I currently had too many payday loans and would not be approved for another one.
This is when he told me that I can request a refund. However, it would take 2-4 weeks to receive this refund. I became very upset and started to cry. I knew at this point that I just got scammed. Mr. Taffy continues to talk to me and is still trying to get me to send more money. When I asked him where he himself was located he stated that he is in New York City in the Manhattan location.
I stated that I was going to file a complaint with the FTC because they lied to me. Then Mr. Taffy said that he is rejecting my refund and if I want my money back I have to take them to court.
This is out of control. Someone needs to stop these people.
They runed Christmas for my family and have put us in a horrible financial situation.

Does anyone know any good lawers that will help me with this case?
