I just received a call that showed up on my phone as the number from my child's school.  I could not answer so it went to voicemail. My voicemail also shows the number to my child's school. When I listened to the voicemail it was a guy from USAA regarding information they needed from me to process a claim.  I don't do business with USAA nor have I filed any sort of claim.  If this is not a scam, then why did it show the call coming from my child's school?  I will not be returning the phone call.

USAA is for all military members, not just officers! It would have been better said...all Airmen

Usaa does not make a practice of calling people soliciting products.
Its very possible that someone has hacked there  number.

I can attest to this -- this number IS from USAA. USAA is quite possibly the BEST insurance company around and have always had the most helpful representatives.

Receiving numerous calls from this number 813-531-8722.  When I answer there is only an audible beep that repeats.  I learned this number is for USAA Insurance of which I am a member.  I contacted USAA who advsied they were not attempting contact with me and in fact did not have my CELL number for a contact number.  Unsure what is afoot here but it is in fact aggravating because of 8-10 calls per day....

For me, this is a USAA adjuster responding my possible Sandy storm claim.  This is certainly not a scam!

I recieved a solicitous phone call from this number

I was looking into USAA insurance products, and this was a follow up call from them.  They have always been respectful and professional in every way; unlike some marketers who call 10 times a day.  I honestly don't understand why some marketers think making people angry will increase sales.  Fortunately, USAA is not one of those.

After over 45 years with USAA I've never once had a rude claim representative.  What did you do, try to submit a fraudulent claim?

I got the call this morning and let it go to ans. mach. No msg left. Googled the # and learned it's USAA. I have my vehicles and house insured with them.  I logged into my USAA acct and see they sent a msg informing of an attempt to contact me about an opinion/suggestion I posted on their viewable comments section on their website.

It was a return call from USAA insurance company after a business conversation.  Legitimate call and not solicitation.

Received call, didn't pick up.  They left a message asking if I had any medical bills or other additional claims to make for an accident about 2 months ago in which a USAA insured driver was at fault.  

The number is legit, but sometimes they don't have the right number for the person they are trying to reach.  Get over it.  

And no one cares if you don't like their customer service or saved money with another insurer. We are here to find out what this number is calling about, not for your life story.

I got a call  from 1-800-531-8722 on my cell and I don't give my cell number out it's the type that has no unlimited minutes  or text. I missed the call so I have no idea what they wanted . I'm so sick of all these scam calls the past 2 months from people.

We I have never solicited their insurance and I get a weekly hang-up on my cell phone when i answer - - - twits

Didn't call the # back, but called USAA to check. It was from their fraud dept. Someone was trying to use my card. So, call them back right away if you see this number come up!

Just got a call from this number at 4:21 IN THE MORNING.  To say I'm not happy is a bit of an understatement.  I did not answer the call, nor was there voicemail.

The caller identified themselves as USAA, and I had recently called them asking for info.  It was legit for me.

Just got a call from this number and they left a voice mail message that sounded like someone was vomiting then they said " f@#*ing b*****d" and then hung up.  I called back the number to let USAA know that either their number has been hacked or they have an employee who has some mental problems that should be addressed.  Of course I simply got caught in the phone tree loop.  Which, I guess, is how someone can so easily get away with this kind of behavior

Just because the number is legit, that DOES NOT mean that whoever is calling is legit.  This is because it is easy to forge the caller ID number.

If you want to do business with USAA, then call them back to do so.  DO NOT accept any excuse from the caller as to why not to call back because you really don't know who the caller is.

The phone companies make NO EFFORT whatsoever to ensure the accuracy of caller ID.

It's USAA.  We purchased a car TWO months ago and put it on our USAA auto policy.  USAA has called twice, asking if we want to add the car and BY THE WAY, do we want to purchase...blah, blah, blah.  

USAA is hurting for money.  They will send you paperwork to update their records regarding your house-nothing has changed since you originally got the insurance, but they'll find a way to increase your home owners.  If you get paperwork from them to update your records, do NOT do it unless you want an increase in your policy.

This number can also be used by scammers who use techniques to forge caller ID.

NEVER trust caller ID info for publicly known numbers.  If the number is that of a friend or family member, it is unlikely (but not impossible) that a scammer is using it.  But scammers can get good mileage by forging a number of a legitimate company, especially if they know you already do business with that company.

This is USAA.  They are on this new campaign to raise your insurance rates.  They will attempt to insist you fill out a form to "update" their records.  No update is necessary, it's just a scam to raise your rates.  We kept telling them the records are correct and nothing has changed.  Finally told them we'd leave if they wouldn't stop the harassment.  It stopped the calls.

It's USAA. Best thing we ever did was cancel our policy from them. They are an insurance company who cater primarily to military personnel and their families. They also handle payments, accident collections, house and other types of insurance. However, we were given a significantly better policy for less than a third of the cost they gave us.

I absolutely hate insurance companies. State Farm and Allstate are the worst, most fraudulent companies around.  However, I have been with USAA since I was 21 and my dad had it when I was a teen wrecking cars every couple months.

USAA has been awesome. I really love them.  I will get a jerk once in a blue moon when I call customer service but usually they are awesome. When you really see the benefit is when you have a claim and they don't try like hell to screw you around forcing you to use crappy Taiwanese parts, and undervaluing your car.  They have been very fair and you don't feel like you have been put through the ringer and screwed.   I HOPE THEY DON"T CHANGE!!
