Ok, I just couldn't resist messing with this one.  I appreciate all of your comments and info on this site.  Here is my experience:  I received this postcard years ago & found it recently & wondered what it REALLY was about. Suspicious, b/c there is no company name, personal name or return address on the postcard (Tyler TX was in the Presort postmark though - the USPostalService distribution ctr)...so to the internet I went.  After finding this site & reading your comments, I decided to call to see what they r up to now, what the heck:D
An automated system answered and asked me questions about the following:
1.Do you own or rent your home?
2.Have you taken the drug Yaz & suffered side effects? (several where listed)
3.Have you taken Actos & suffered deep vein thrombosis?
4.Have you taken Pradaxa? blah blah blah....
It sounded like those flipping lawyer commercials on t.v. or Spam emails that load my inbox..so you get the point...other questions were about:
5. Are you diabetic?
6. Lower your electric bill
7.Do you have sleep apnea?
8. Do you owe pay day loans?
9. Do you owe $10,000 in back taxes
10.Interested in a persoonal alert system?
11. Suffer from mesothelioma?
After answering no to everything...Finally, I got bored with it, distracted & delayed answered the last question so the automated voice not so politely said "goodbye" & disconnected the call.  No free airline tickets & no surprise. Ha.

I called and was told this offer was from Global Vacation Network in Ann Arbor Michigan.   I was told I would get my mp3 player for just calling.   Offer was on 02-01-08, I called on 02-04-08 and never heard from them again until this year when they were now offering a Ford Navigator and 3 lesser prizes to come and hear their sales pitch.   I went to listen but it is just another vacation scheme to make them money while they supply substandard vacation packages.  Their sales pitch was contrived to confuse the buyer.  I asked to view the vacation spots but was told they could not be accessed without a membership.  Stay away from this offer and company as there are other complaints online about them.
The 800 No. is no longer active.

Just received the post card and thank you for doing the research and I will not have to waste time I don't have to look into it, however it is spam mailing and I hope that they end up paying a price for it! In this day and the way the times are so tough on everyone, I hope no one got caught up in it.  It is especially vulnerable on the elderly.  So thank you for the comments.

Hello, all. I used to work for this place. I was leery going in, but I was pregnant and 19 and needed a job. They assured me that it was just outgoing calls to give people the opportunity to go to travel seminars, sort of like time share companies do. I worked there for about a month, I'm ashamed to say, and it just went from bad to worse. I'm a really shy person, and I couldn't make any appointments for the first week. I kept asking questions like, "What is a Rolex-style watch?", which is one of the possible door prizes people are eligible to win at the meetings. I also asked why I was calling people in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and trying to get them to travel to Annapolis, Maryland. At first, they didn't know what the problem was, thinking that since Virginia and Maryland border each other it was a quick trip. I've lived up there, and that's easily a five to seven hour drive. Then they told me to convince callers that it was worth the trip. Then, in training, they told us to milk our personal stories and explain to the people we were calling what we got for booking an appointment. They told me to tell people how I was a pregnant nineteen year old, scared for the future, and trying to build a life for myself, which was true. But they told all of the other girls to say the same thing! The owner would frequently come by unannounced, and fly into a rage about our booking numbers. We were expected to continue to try to hook people while she was screaming like a loon in the background. Many times I'd just say, "Hi, my name is *******, and I'm-" and people would tell me that they couldn't hear me over the nonsense going on in the background and hang up. And rightfully so. They had a shift starting at SEVEN IN THE MORNING, and a shift ending at TEN AT NIGHT, and we would have to call people, waking them up in the morning, waking up little kids by calling too late at night.. The last straw came when the owner approached me about adopting my unborn baby, and I declined as respectfully as I could. Two days later, I was fired. And I'm glad. I'm ashamed to say that even as my suspicions were mounting with the people at this hole-in-the-wall (where people smoked, by the way, inside with me when I was eight months pregnant!), I stayed as long as I could, because I needed a job. I want to apologize for my actions, to all of you, and please believe me that not all of the people calling you know that they are enticing you into a scam. They believe (like I did for the first three weeks) that they are just promoting a travel seminar, or things of that nature. And from what I understand, that telemarketing company isn't actually running the scams alone. There are companies that are legitimate who hire call centers like that to do the dirty work for them. I can't believe the state of the world today. I really can't.

I got a $300 free gas rebate advertisement in the mail today from a Leslie Fashenberger, not Fashenberg.  Same number 888-501-1505. Call it to get $25 rebates per month if I spend $100 a month for gas at the same gas station each time.  One time redemption fee of $35 that is refundable only if I complete the gas program.

I got the same thing from CDA with a package number in the same sequence beginning with "1106".  The thing is that I am expecting a package and there was no tracking provided.  I am glad I checked it out on the internet before calling.

Update:

Received card in mail today with 5400 University Blvd STE5, Tyler, TX 75791, but the company name is now CDA and they have in big red letters PICKUP NOTICE...PACKAGE NUMBER: 1106-3703-5672...CALL (888) 501-1505 TO SCHEDULE PICKUP. SORRY WE MISSED YOU!!! (yes, there are 3 exclamation points so they must be really sorry) Evidently, they must have been sued too many times or their original scam is no longer working so they've taken on a new name and method of enticement. *sigh*

I recieved the post card as well.Googled the number and found this site. Mine is from Julie Robinson. I called 9 times in a row requesting to speak with Julie Robinson just to mess w/em and they finally starting hanging up on me. Then I called back three times asking for Leslie Fashenburg and the thrid time they disconnected. Obviously a small company because it didn't take long to start recognizing my number. Bet they won't send me anything else. BTW, I also don't have a capital one card...or any credit card for that matter.

I received the same card with Julie Robinson's name. I did call, but they basically were just confirming the address and asked other questions about me, like if I was single/married, over 21, etc. I won't reply or call again if they send me anything else. Has anyone else actually called the number on the card? Thanks for the info.

I did not receive a call, but a letter from the same address as many have listed here,

Department of Distribution
Division of Acquisition
5400 University Blvd Suite 5
Tyler, TX 75707

The envelope was very misleading, only stating "Department of Distribution, Division of Acquisition" for the return address, and "United States of America" also written on the envelope. Until you read the fine print, it could even appear that the two airline tickets were awarded from some government agency.

I also received one of these postcards but do not own a Capital One card, so I'm wondering how they got my info. It did not include the apartment number  in the address, and I'm trying to remember who I gave my address to that way--it would have been when signing up for a mailing list or something like that, probably on the internet.

I got one in the mail as well. I was going to ask for the company name and address so that I could contact the Better Business Bureau about them before I "did business with them" then wait for them to try to give a reason for me not to contaact the BBB.

We got a card asking us to call this number too.  The cards are clearly printed on an ink-jet printer and not by a commercial printer.  Nothing wrong with that, just an indication that it's a do-it-cheap operation and a sign that it may not be legit.  Of course, three separate freebie hooks on the same card is a strong indication too.

I don't have a Capital One credit card, so I'm not sure what the connection is.  I suspect the postcards are a way around the DNC registry.  I do know I won't be calling this number and I'm glad it led me to this site.  Thanks for the info!

One point of order: The card has a US Postage Paid stamp on it with permit no. 97.  I wonder whether or not that info could be useful.  If this is essentially mail fraud, the sender could be in a whole lot of trouble.
