I was directed to this phone number by "LANDMARK TELESE" who have called from several phone numbers and previously never left a message. This time, on 2014/02/26, they called from 202-754-8714 and left a message claiming that the call was from Suntrust and that I should call 800 540 0414 to be put on Suntrust's do not call list.

I called that number and fell for this scam. I have reported this incident to DoNotCall.gov and FBI.gov. I don't expect much from them and I'll speak with my bank at the earliest.

THEY ARE GOING TO GET REPORTED TOO ITS A FEDERAL LAW BANKS MUST IDENTIFY THEMSELVES ON CALLER ID.  THERFORE THEY ARE NOT BANKERS THEY ARE TELEMARKETERS. TELEMARKETERS ARE PROHIBITED FROM DOING THIS TYPE OF SOLICITING UNLESS I HAD DONE BIZ WITH THEM IN LAST 18 MONTHS. SINCE I HAVE NEVER DONE BIZ WITH THEM, THEY ARE VIOLATING THE LAW AND SUBJECT TO 10,000.00 PER CALL FINE BY FTC

I received a call today asking if I wanted to apply for a credit card with SunTrust bank. He stated if I had any questions, call   866-243-7719 . I called that number the lady said SunTrust .I will call SunTrust bank tomorrow to make them aware of the number 800-540-0414.

Okay-I called and then had them forward me, and then forward me again to a director level. IF you have a Suntrust Account its a sales gig. They sometimes use outside guys, they sometimes use inside guys. The director was quite nice. But, he said to get these calls to stop, IF you have online banking you go to the maintenance/service part of your online banking and then check mark it for do not call.

IF you dont have an online account you have to look at it like this. You didnt tell them not to call so therefore they are going to call. No pass given so they take creative license. They are selling credit card lines, home equity, and business loans... Big frigging surprise huh?

Okay if you DONT have Suntrust account then you are open game if you havent hit the do not call list. If you havent hit that, then you need to...Else they beez going to call.

I got a call from that number but did not answer and in reading the info here I went to Verizon and blocked the number.  If you have Verizonwireless you can block calls that you don't want.  I am not sure if other carriers offer that service.  

Since these fraudsters are in Africa , they are hard to put a stop to . But when they called me last , I told them that every time they called me , I would remember to go online and post that they are fraudulent , suntrust fraud dept said there is not much they can do when they are out of the country , tell them you will call the 800 suntrust legit number and find out what they need you for . They will then hang up on you .

Nope not suntrust , Africa maybe , and notice when you call back there is no Spanish option , I guess the theives don't speak Spanish , haha

Once you opt-out of promotional calls, any recurring calls are most likely spoofed so as to appear to be originating from this number.

I am a retired memner of FEDERAL law enforcement  whenever a BANK CALLS YOU THEY ARE required to have the CALLER ID  PROPERLY DISPLAYED.   EVEN IF IT IS FROM THEIR SALES OR MORTGAGE DEPT.  IF IT IS NOT DISPLAYED THEN THEY ARE NOT WHO THEY SAY THEY ARE  AND GENERALLY EITHER A TELEMARKETER  OR A PHISING SCAM.  DO NOT... I REPEAT DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION TO ANY 800 NUMBER THAT CALLS YOU AND DOES NOT HAVE  THE BANK NAME DISPLAYED.. SIMPLY HANG UP AND CALL YOUR BANK DIRECTLY AND ASK TO SPEAK TO THE FRAUD DEPT  FIRST  AND TELL THEM YOU WERE CALLED BY WHAT NUMBER.  LET THEM DO THE VERIFICATION.

Confirmed with Suntrust that this number ticalis not a Suntrust number... fraud.

I received a call from this number about a promotion ( I also received a verified email from suntrust about the same promotion) and called the suntrust main number and they told me that this was one of their numbers. I asked two or three times and they said it was a legit number. I still was a little bit uneasy, so I chatted with one of their online live agents who also verified that this was a legit number.

I've had a few calls from this number. I answered once, and the guy on the phone said he was calling from SunTrust. So, I asked the guy what he wanted (my car loan is with SunTrust, but it's paid up to date). The guy said something about my checking and savings accounts being compromised. I don't have checking or savings with SunTrust. So, I told this to the guy, and he hung up immediately. I'm beginning to think that maybe SunTrust's client information files have been hacked or stolen.

WE WOULD JUST LIKE YOU TO KEEP CALLING AND SOONER OR LATER YOU'LL GET CAUGHT, 10K FINE PLUS 10 YEARS IN JAIL  MANDATORY SENTENCE FOR CALLING OVER THE PHONE AGAINST USC CODE

How's that Do Not Call list working out for you?   In case you haven't been able to tell, the Do Not Call list is absolutely worthless.  They do no enforcement of any kind.  It's a joke and a waste of taxpayer money.

I just got off of the phone with suntrust fraud dept , they not only told me this was not a suntrust number but they also told me that maybe the comments that say they are suntrust on here are put up by the scammers to put your mind at ease and you give them all of your info , scary stuff , I hope these b*****ds get caught.

This number called me and had some information that was weird and wrong and i have NO CLUE how they got my number.  This is scaring me,

Well All I can say is that I completed the refinance process over a year ago and my bank account is just fine. Like I stated in my post, i received the rejection notice from Suntrust after going through the process. To boot, my bank even told me I would be receiving  a call from a CS tam. It's either my local branch or a 1800 number. ST is  pest. Every time I make a deposit they ask me what I am going to do with it and how I plan to invest it. They always want a rep to contact me to advise me. They are hungry like every other bank. I sleep well at night after having used this number so you be the judge.

Said they were from SunTrust but I told them I never do business over the phone and do all my banking at my local banking center. I guess thats a new term for bank.

I received a call from this number today and it was a lady with a strong foreign accent claiming to be a Suntrust representative.  She was asking for my name and account number and when I got suspiscious and started questioning her as to why, she said it was for promotional use only and when I said I'm not giving my account information she hung up.  I immediately called 1-800-suntrust who told me this number is a fraud and they will be reporting it to their fraud department.  Whoever is on here saying it is a legit number is probably in on the scam.  Here's a tip...get a real job instead of trying to steal money from people who work hard to get the things they want out of life!!!!!!!!!
