Whitepages.com and 411.com both list this as an "unknown" number.  Interesting that they use the name of a fictional character - Jesse Stone - who is a police chief.  I'd go with scam.  I'd also call the cops if anyone shows up.

So apparently these guys came to my house! Must have been when I was in the shower because I never heard a knock on the door..I went out to take the garbage down and there was a notice taped on my door- IT IS IMPERATIVE YOU CONTACT OUR OFFICE IMMEDIATELY REGARDING AN ONGOING INVESTIGATION the 1-800 number had been crossed out and replaced with 562-335-7007 Investigations Unit of Jesse Stone.

I decided to google it- as anytime I get weird calls regarding situations like this I always check this website before I freak out..I can not believe they came to my home though. A phone call is one thing, but they crossed a line this time by coming to my home. I'm furious..and considering a lawsuit of some kind. That is total harassment and a complete scam from what it sounds like..

had the same thing last night..someone came to my house looking for my twin sister. when i said she wants home the guy said " oh thats weird you look just like her" i said yes im her twin what can i help you with. He said they repoed my sister jeep cherokee, which she has never owned, and wanted to return her stuff that was left in the vehicle. he left a cell phone number and my sister called and told them she never owned a jeep cherokee and he said the auto loan with through wells fargo, but didnt have an account number or anything for me. my sister  called both wells fargo, and wells fargo dealer services, and they do not have an account for her as an auto loan and the superviser advised we call the local police department. they came, but said they couldnt take an actual report because no crime has been committed. my best friends brother is an LA county sheriffs so he is looking into everything and going to do a further investigation on them since the sheriffs who came out are not. My concern is this creep knows where I live and came to my house and knew what my sister looked like, because me being her identical twin thought i was her. He parked 4 houses down and go into a truck that said "repo" something on the side, i couldn't see everything but he had a car on his trailer hitched to the back of his truck. its obviously a scam and I want to know what this guys wants and why he came to my house.

Yes I received the same letter with the same content as everyone else's. I called the number several times but it was just a recording. I am going to the Police Dept. to report this scam so they can investigate on these stalkers.

I got a person that came to the door looking for another name that doesn't live there.  I was visiting from Texas and watching my grandkids while their parents are at work. The lady looked inside the door around to both sides and asked me to take a card and give it to my daughter when she gets home in case she knows the people she is looking for. There has never been a person named that living here so it is a bit fishy.

I got a letter from 675 N. Euclid ST., # 222 Anaheim CA 92801 with a phone of 1800-568-9718 x 131433 investigation unit:  Jesse Stone. Reporting it to the better businees bureau and Anaheim Police Department. Let's see who gets investigated!

Received the same b.s. letter! Call with my number blocked no one ever picks up ! Trashed it very suspicious !

This is a collection agency that works to recover (repossess) cars and such where the loan is in default and has been SOLD for pennies on the dollar to this collection agency. So, if you owed $20,000 and they paid $1,800 for the debt - they find your car and sell it for a profit. They claim they are "investigators" and if you don't pay they are going to "serve subpoenas" and stuff on family and the debtor. It is all BS - they are just like any other collection agent. They can't do SQUAT without a judgment.

IGNORE THEM!! (and hide the car - or better yet TRADE it with someone else in the same situation.

i got the same letter too.  i called and it asked to enter the extension number that that i was given.  Now i feel weird and scared that they have access to my phone account. very suspecious.

Weird, but I just ignore it and I get a new letter every 6 months or so.  At times for people who do not even live here.

So did you ever find out who or why they send you that letter? We received the same letter from them.

I just received a mail today, the paper inside only indicated "It is imperative you contact our office immediately regarding an ongoing investigation." The 800 number is the same as listed above. The address on the envelope is 675 N. Euclid Street, # 222, Anaheim, CA 92801. No name no attention to or anything.

I did not pick up on this call, but my caller ID tells me this is the number.  We get a lot of bill collector calls for people who do not live here and whom we do not know.  Since we've had this phone number for only a few months, I assume it previously belonged to someone who doesn't pay their bills.

Got a mailing claim sent to my parents house, whom I haven't lived with for 10 years.  I have called the number a few times to check it out and have never gotten a human on the phone.
