I never received a phone call but a charge showed up on my account today for $8.99 Harry Dean 800 572 5389 FLUS.  I never autorized this charge and now I have to close my account and change all of my automatic payments!!! This is not right!!!

My bank is starting a fraud investigation and I will push them to find a resolution!!  Someone out there getting rich fast on a scam just isn't right

I also have an unauthorized charge on my credit card from this number. When I call it, an automated voice says to leave a message, with no identification given. I will also be informing my credit card company about this. I may also file a police report. Sounds like a security breach.

I never called this number.  Somehow my bank card was charged $8.99.  Why work for a living when you can get rich in cyber crime.  I'll file a report, like that will do any good.

I too got a 8.99 charge on my Wellsfargo account with Harry Dean Book Store in Miami Fl. that i did not charge anything to and got the automative voice saying leave a message when i called the number 8005725389 givin on my account statment that was charged without authorization.  I had to Cancel my Credit Card and my Bank will be doing a Fraud Investigation on this.  I hope they get the Mutha F***ers.

Yeah I have this charge pending on my account right now and the lady at my bank said I had to call the fraudulent line after the charges come out of pending status and that my bank would credit the funds back to me.  I'll give it a shot and see what happens and if I get my money back.  I guess its time to get identity theft insurance such as lifelock.com.  These guys just dipped right into my account might as well thrown my wallet at them.  Very disappointing.  No call, no sales pitch just helped themselves.

so this has been going on for over a year and no one has figured it out? that is pretty sad, i just got a charge from harry dean on my statement for 8.99 7-23-08 , obviously visa does not take this seriously or it is something they do on purpose to push you to buy identity protection... i am calling my bank in the morning and closing my account, it is a visa debit card and i received no phone calls from anyone.

Also found an $8.99 charge on my VISA made on July 30th with the 800-572-5389 phone number.  Did not receive a phone call, just a bogus charge.  Currently working with my bank to get it resolved.  Registered a complaint with the FCC about Harry Dean but not sure if that will result in anything.

Same thing going on with me.  $8.99 charge showed up on Visa last month. No phone call was involved.  So far the Bank is looking into it.  Hopefully SOMEONE will shut this number/people down!! My Visa has a temporary block but I was advised to just close it and open a new one.  It's a shame.

No call.  $8.99 VISA charge posted 7/31, rec'd yesterday.  Cancelling card today. Amazing that this just goes on and on.

I got the charge on my card too. It just happened that it is an old card that I only have one recurring charge every other month so my card company caught it.

Found this charge of $8.99 CheckCard purchase on 8/21 Harry Dean 800-572-5389 FL..... called it and left a message questioning this charge ..... tried the # again and it is not in service!! Found this site and see that I am not alone! My bank is investigating!!!

i as well just noticed that my visa account was charged 8.99 from these clowns, and my bank that issued it reversed the charge but i told them about the other complaints here and urged them to do some kind of investigation and shut these scammers down.

I got a charge from "Harry Dean 800 572 5389" on my business Visa card 7-20-08.  I'm in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. I faxed the info to my bank to dispute the charge today, 10-14-08.

Ditto on all the above.  No call just charge. I did order off shore meds at one time (couple years ago).

I have been had by this man to the tune of $8.99. a company that called it,self Canadian Pharmacy whom I ordered meds.from. I came to find out that this Co. was in India,and that a company in florida handled the transactions for credit and debit cards.this is the only place that I used my card that I have my doubts about since harry has a Florida ph.#....

I just went to the harrydean.net website to check it out--what a hoot this would be if they weren't ripping people off. You should go take a look at the pages they call terms of use and licenses--they apparently really want THEMSELVES protected from everything and everybody.  GRRRRRRR!!!!

I have the same as almost everyone else on here...no phone call, just that STUPID $8.99 charge from Harry Dean. whoever the frick and frack he is. This is really annoying--jump through hoops, cancel card, pain in the _ _ _, lots of hassles, etc etc etc---FOR $8.99!?!?!?! Yes, I do realize he is $8.99-ing his way to fame and fortune. Well fortune anyway. OURS, not to say. It amazes me that they can hit so many people with these things. It looks like it was a "good run" for this outfit in 2007, and they have decided to give it a go again in 2008. There was another thing like this I heard about too; They charged a little more than $8.99 but not large amounts. They did the same thing-- hit a lot of people one year, and then there they were again the next year.
HOW do they GET OUR INFO?? HOW can they not GET CAUGHT?? I don't understand-WHY are the CC companies not be able to track their IP address(es)?? You would think they would, and that they then would find a culprit(s). This just TORKS me off big time.
