Well Bruce is back and this time he has a new name...  "This is Bill Smith, call me back, talk to you in a bit".  How original.  I know that voice anywhere Bruce.  Been dealing with your harrassing calls for 4 years now, how could I forget you.  New number too I see 877-562-6250.  Called it back just to check.  Answering machine says Directory Assistants.  Yes I left you a message... "call me back, talk to you in a bit"...  I know you probably get off on reading these posts.  But I guess you will keep doing what you're doing as long as you continue to find people you can bully with your sales tactics.  But you should know by now...  they don't work on me.

I had a current customer contacted by Bruce Brown saying that Bruce could get them the same size ad in the same book for 40% off.  This is just not possible.  Besides, how would Bruce and DAI even know how much the customer was paying anyway?  There is just no way to buy into a local directory for less than the local reps' rates.  

I believe that this person is a cutter and will cut your program by 40% in the process of saving you 40%.  If that's your goal, I'm sure you can do that yourself.  Be aware in economic times like these, these people come out of the woodwork.  I know back when Katrina hit there were cutters all over Beaumont that promised the same things and had customers sign agreements that they would work directly with the yellow pages company.  Then they did not share the ad proofs until after the book went to the printer.  They had cut the advertiser's program drastically to "save" them that 40%.

I told him we weren't interested and he continued his pathetic sales pitch.  I then told him we've been contacted by numerous yellow pages companies and that most of them were scams.  He then got very irate on "how dare you call me a scam" and about how rude I was.  Look up Bruce Brown or 877-451-1738 on the internet and see how many complaints are out there on this guy.

Most of these posts are 100% accurate.  Mr Brown's company prey's on small businesses.  Basically the scam works this way.  They tell you they will save you 40-80% on your yellow page advertising.  What they dont tell you is that they are going to slash your programs presence down to the absolute bare minimum in order to do so.  Then, you the business owner are contractually obligated to pay them anywhere from 50-75% of the value of the savings over a 1-3 year period of time.  For example:  you are spending 10,000 a year on advertising & they cut you down to 2000.  Their contract requires that you choose how long to pay them the difference.  Typically you will pay them 5-6K per year for these savings for three years meaning you will pay them 15-18K for doing what you could have done anyway.  They have no inside track on pricing with yellow page companies & they have no idea how the yellow pages work.  If they did, they would never recommend you taking your ads from display to in-column or listings and claim that they are saving you money while increasing effectiveness.

I would like any company that even thinks about hiring this man to stop and think twice.  I recieve numerous sales calls at my business.  Bruce Brown called me today and displayed what I would describe as extremely unprofessional and distastful behavior.  I would never do business with such a person, nor recommend him to others.  In fact, just the opposite. Evidently this gentleman does not take the hin, if you do not get a call back it is probably since we don't want to talk to you.  We are a physician office that only accept patients by referral and do not advertise.  He lies everytime he calls and tells the receptionist that I am expecting his call.  I don't even know who he is from Adam.  I only know that he sells advertising from this board.  He is rude and arrogant and I would never give him the chance of day to do business with us, since I have been brought up that the customer is always right and no matter what you treat them with the upmost kindness and respect they deserve.

Well, I'm back to report on Brucey Baby....  he back with a new number.  877-890-9066.  Leaving me messages AGAIN and I am ignoring him again.  I am going to keep track of all the times he calls me this time.  He is ridiculous.

I also received a phone call from this Bruce Brown today at my office. He called and asked who was responsible for the advertising in our office because he had noticed our yellow page ad and wanted to speak with whoever is responsible for the advertising in our office and I told him that that would be me. He asked for my name. Didn't tell him, as the phone number came up blocked so I asked for his, Bruce Brown. Mr. Brown, what company are you with? DAI. Then he asked me once again who he was speaking with and I told him that we have received multiple calles from this number in the past about our advertising and that we contract with the local phonebook, so please take me off your calling list and he said f*** you, you stupid bi*** and hung up on me.
This gentleman was completely unprofessional and our office would never advertise with a company that treats their customers in such a disrespectful manner. Oh and I called our advertising company immediately after the conversation to give them the helpful information you all provided on this post. Thank you! Now hopefully this guy will stop calling me.

Bruce has been calling. Rude to all my staff. Will not take no for an answer. Wish the stupid SOB would come to my office. Because I would teach him a lesson in manners the old fashioned way.

Just an update...  Bruce is still calling.  Almost every day.  Leaves the same message, only now he's starting to sound more frustrated that I haven't called him back yet.  I thought I would wait him out, but it's been a month and he's not giving up.  I may wait awhile longer though, just to see how this turns out.  I'm sure he reads these posts.  Keep leaving those messages Bruce...  I'm not buying!

Received a call today from Bruce Brown as "private" from 877-451-1738. HE said he could save me 40% on yellow pages ads.  I informed him that we were happy with AT&T and that I wasn't interested.  He was ****VERY**** rude, arrogant.  When I informed him that we've received numerous contacts from all kinds of yellow pages companies and that most of them were scams he just became a really nasty person saying "how dare you say I'm a scam" and I just hung up on him.  This a$$ had the nerve to call back and continued to cuss.  This guy is a total a$$.  He's very high pressure, very rude.
Its obvious he checks these comments and pretends to be different people claiming they saved 40% and how wonderful he is.  Bruce, you're PATHETIC.

Well, looks like Bruce has a new number. It is now 877-451-1738. I have received a couple of calls from him. Gives his name, mentions DAI and phone number. Nothing more. How he expects to get a return call without identifying the purpose of his call is beyond me. I get plenty of calls from reputable companies. I can tell his isn't one.

I received a message from Bruce Brown with DAI earlier this week. He did not provide a reason for his call, so I did not call him back. Today, he left me another message stating that "I have left numerous messages with your company and I can't believe that I have not heard back from anyone yet. Call me!" This seemed like a red flag to me, so I Googled his name and phone number, which brought me to this page full of comments about this rude man and his scam. The number he left for me to reach him is 1-877-451-1738. I will not be returning any of his calls.

It sounds like he is posting the positive comments about himself. You may have a different number, but it sounds like the same old bull.

Bruce calls me year after year and I refuse to meet with him.  My favorite thing is that when he calls again he says, "we talked last year and you said you were interested in setting up a meeting."

It's a scam.  I talked to the guys at AT&T.  They have legal working on it.  One version of how Bruce and Directory Assistant does things is to cut your ad down in size at the last minute - too late to make changes before it goes to print.  

Sure, that costs less but it's probably not what you wanted.  

Another note - do you really think "happy customers" are getting on here to post good stuff about Bruce?  Do you see "happy customers" on any other posts on this site?

I got a telephone call from this number and was not sure what DAI was,after speaking to Bruce Brown I realized that I had spoken to him last year and was not interested.Since then times have changed and I was given an order to try and save money on my yellow pages.I tried to work this out but was not getting anyplace.Bruce Browm just happen to call again this year and made an appointment with this company and saved alot of money on my yellow pages.My boss told me that he was very happy that I went the extra mile to save us money.I owe it all to DAI,Thanks

This Bruce guy keeps calling our business like we know him. Thanks to this site for the heads up.

800 575 1595 bruce brown (for the color of dirt) called us and rudely tried to sell advertising- bottom feeders like this live and die with the worms. Don't fall prey to his kind.

He has called our office staff several times harrassing them to advertise with him and that he could save our office money.  I was told he was rude but I had no idea what I was in for when I returned the mans phone call.
Rude is an understatement. When he answered his phone he said, 'hello'.  I would guess that if you were a professional you would answer with some sort of informational greeting.   He was very angy with my questions and would not email or produce proof that we have worked with him in the past, only that he would be in my town on a certain date and that he would set up an appt. to meet with me.  When I explained that I would not meet without something in writing first he became very upset.  What kind of business does not produce things in writing first?  A very bad one.  

Please stay away from this man.  He's a scam.

Same Stuff, Different Day - Regular calls from Bruce saying that he can save money on Yellow Page ads... I'm guessing the man sits there with the entire book calling every number he can find.  He's rude, resentful and hung up on me when I asked him to email me basic information rather than meet with him in person.

Thanks for the postings.  This guy is annoying and incredibly rude.  He has called me several times, saying "he is waiting for my call back".  He can wait for years because I would never call him back. Get the hint Bruce.  No call me I don't want to speak to you.

Bruce has established an interesting reputation. Annoyed by his arrogance I Googled his telephone number after his second reprimand and found he treats everyone equally. Arrogant, rude, pushy and unprofessional.

Bruce Brown, has left many many messages, never identifying what company he represents. His 6th message to me he was annoyed that I never called him back  I called asking him to remove my name from his list and he was incredibly rude.  I would NEVER use him as a salesperson, ever. I think the positive posts on this web site are written by him. In this economy he should think twice.

Just a note to those who read this that I am a very happy person that Bruce and DAI got in touch with me and saved me so much time and money on my yellow pages.If you get a call from this company or meet wih them do the best thing and hire them.Thanks to all you people at DAI.
