I just got a call from this number, but the odd thing is that my call display didn't register it at all. After four rings the call display said there was no call, so I checked with the phone company and they gave me the number but couldn't explain why it didn't register...

I blocked, yes, blocked 1-800-253-3930 but, low and behold they started calling again with a new # 1-800-594-5024.  I do not give any moneys to any charity unless it is one I'm damn sure of.  Guess you have to put up with this sort of thing if you want a telephone.  How many time does one have to complain ?  Nothing is ever done about it.

I called 1-800-253-3930, pressed 9 to be added to this telemarketer's "do not call" list and then 1 to confirm.  That was months ago.   I have just gone through the routine again.  They keep right on calling, despite the fact that I have never given them any money or had any "preceding business relationship" with them.  
They also do not appear to be registered as a charity with the Government of Canada.   Maybe "B.C." in their name does not stand for British Columbia.

It's the BC Wheelchair Basketball Society. Adding to another posting here, to get on their do-not-call list, call 1-800-253-3930. It's an automated answering service. Press 9 to be added to the call centre's do-not-call list. For confirmation, the system will read back your phone number (you can't have a blocked number).Press 1 to confirm. This do-not-call list applies to all calls from that call centre regardless of their client, not just the Wheelchair Society. You'll only get calls if you have had prior relations with that client (i.e., have donated before).

The answering machine answered, no one talked but the operator came on the line and said our call couldn't be completed...  We didn't call anyone... They called us???
