I use to work for audience studies, and have had calls disconnected before. We usually didn't have any phone numbers in front of us. The computer randomly selected them, so once we were disconnected, there usually was no way to call back. Also, once the main questions are answered, the survey can still go through, so there was no need to call you back to finish. I guarantee this had nothing to do with your race.

i also got their dvd and followed their instructions. when they called
the next day to conduct their interview, she kept me on the phone for about 40 mins. When we were  on the very last page of questions she asked me what my race was. When i responded that i ws black, i was immediately
disconnected. It wasnt an accident because she had my number and didnt call me back. Ill never participate in another survey again. It seems that this is a racist company and they have a racist agenda.

Survey
I was called and asked to view a dvd and would be called back to commet on what I had watched. I ask for info to called them back if needed and when I call the number they gave me, 1-800-595-8959, no matter what # you push you always get the same recording. Funny.

I work for this company (yes, I'm the one calling you guys). It's called Audience Studies.

How it works is this: We have a computer that randomly dials phone numbers. So we don't have a calling list or anything like that. We have no way to predict who we get a hold of. If the computer reaches an answering machine, the number is recycled and reused, either within the next 30 minutes or earlier if we've started running out of numbers (the computer only generates the list a couple times a day, it doesn't generate a new number for each new call). What this means is that if you don't pick up your phone, the computer might keep calling you over and over and over and over again until you go nuts.

So if you don't want to talk to us, the best thing to do is to pick up the phone and tell the operator that you want to be added to our Do Not Call list. The operator is then required to add you immediately (if not, we can be fired, it's considered a very serious offence). The Do Not Call list is a special list kept by the computer of numbers that it will never dial.

If you say that you aren't interested, we won't call you for that particular survey, but we may use your number again. If you say that you don't have time or that you are busy, we will call you back. It's up to the operator to decide when to set a call back, so it might be twenty minutes later or a day later.

Now, what we do: Most of the time, we test commercials for companies. So say Lysol wants to put a new commercial on the air, they want to test that with viewers first to make sure that it's OK and to see if there's any changes to be made. I've seen some before and after commercials and the number of changes actually made vary, but can be quite extensive.

So we call people at random and ask them if they want to participate in "testing material that may be shown on television." Some of our surveys have qualifiers, for example we might only need women or we might only need people who are between certain ages. They might be about whether you bake cookies or other silly things. If you qualify and accept, we get your name and home address so that we can mail you a DVD that either has just commercials on it, or commercials embedded in a sitcom. Also, we might be conducting a "control group," which means that we will just ask you some questions about the products that other people are getting a DVD for to see what people who haven't seen the commercials think of them.

We are a legitimate business and it is true that we aren't selling anything. Our customers are the businesses that want their products tested, not you guys.

As for your personal information, we don't keep it. We just don't have a use for it. If you agree to go through everything, your name is added to our prize draw and, after that's over with, all that information is destroyed.

Anyways, I hope that this has cleared up some of your concerns. In closing, I would just like to apologize for calling all you people. I don't like it, but it's a job and, at the moment, it's the only one I can find.

It's Audience Studies.  The lady wanted me to do a survey- watch a DVD they mail to you of a sit-com on a specific day then they would call me back to do a survey of what I watched... told her I couldn't commit.  Asked for her phone # and employer.

The company goes by "Audience Studies" or by "Ipsos-ASI". They continue to call. Their website is www.ipsos-asi.com Write them and ask to be removed from their calling list, as it's the only way to get action. Their 800 number is 800-595-8959 You can call that and ask to be removed but they seem to ignore requests

This is a research company that sends you a video tape, which they say has a 30 minute television show and that they would like to get your opinions of the content on the video. There is also commercials on the tape, because they are interested in peoples total viewing habits they would like to ask a few questions about the commercials, you may or not remember them. Mostly products that are new and I agree the survey is extremely long with many questions on a product that you probably dont use. The Do Not Call list doesnt apply to them because they are not selling anything and LAWMAKERS agree that the opinions of the public are important. Next time they call you dont have to do the survey just ask to be put on their internal Do Not Call Listing. No need to be rude about it, I agree it may be inconvenient to answer calls you dont know who the person is but its so they can represent a good cross section of the public. This is a legitimate company and they have you number by using a process called random digit dialing, the computer chooses an area code and then randomly selects numbers, they reach businesses, fax machines and NIS numbers.,

They have called at least twice here today.  After checking the Federal Do Not Call website, it does seem that they are correct in that they are exempt from the list.  However, if you ask to be put on there internal do not call list, they still must comply with that request.  I think the law allows them 30 days to get it updated, but do not know for sure.

Survey
This number showed up on my call display at 9:00pm.  I answered and it was a girl (sounds like she was calling from a cell phone...kinda distorted) and asked if I was between the age of 18-65...she then wanted more specific information and I told her it was rather late to be calling.  She said no prblem how about tomorrow at 4pm..I said sure.  I just won't answer next time!!

Called them.  After playing with their phone tree reached a message saying they are exempt from No Call lists, but they maintain their own no call list.  Figured they already had my number- so I left it...
We shall see.  If they don't stop I MAY just set up a demon dialer on another phone (hopefully a pay-phone) and have it call them a few thousand times...  Enough to cost them a grand or two.

This company calls my home 2-3 times per night. I do not answer 800 number, they go straight to my answering machine. This company has not left any messages. I am on the national "do not call" list, however this company continues to call. Upon conducting a Google search, apparantly this is the MO for this company.

Survey
I don't have caller ID, I got a call from Audience Studies, Inc. of Cincinnati. They claimed to be studying a new sitcom and sent a DVD.  From the materials they sent, and a little research online, I suspect they are researching advertising and/or branding.  As a participant you are entered in a monthly "sweepstakes", where you win coupons for products of your choice from the packet they sent.  Is this the real survey?  You're not missing anything.

I have received four calls today from the above number.  No message left.  I called the number.  The recording says that it is a research company and is exempt from no-call lists.  Allegedly you can have your number removed from their call list.  When I attempted to do so, the message was that the voice mail box is full--what a surprise.  If this continues, I will send a report to the State of Wisconsin.  They are very active investigating abusers of the no-call list.
