Just had this # call my landline!  I never answered since I never answer a # I don't recognize.

They phone me once and a while... always after 8:00pm! I have yet to talk to someone but when I dial the number back, the message is about a burn fund or something like in Victoria, BC

I looked at the posts on this number...obviously it has been around for a few years but not bothered too many people. It has been used for various purposes. It makes me think it is now being used by one of those 'professional' (and I use the term very loosely) fundraisers. Most of the money would go into their fat-assed pockets and not to the charity they claim to be collecting for.

This is my first call from them and the last since I've now blocked them.
P.S. I don't take calls from any one with the name of "unavailable" or "unknown" showing onn my call display.

called here and I picked up and immediately gave the signal that mine was not a working line (####). I had no idea who these people were until checking the number here. So...here is my question, just exactly what portion of any donation actually goes to this burn fund (if such a fund exists..is it 5% 10% and does the rest go to pad your fat-assed pockets?)?

I called them back - they identify themselves as the Burn Fund of Greater Victoria.
You can try to get on their no-call list by calling  1-800-334-7811

Calls every other night at around 6;20pm

They're back!  Another round of solicitations, I presume, since they called at 13:38 Pacific today, when I was out.

Have called 3 times in the last couple of weeks but never leave a message.

It calls at least once a day sometimes twice...never anyone on the other end...so annoying

I just called it back and it said :

"Thank you for calling the information line of the Burn Fund of Greater Victoria". I assume Victoria is in reference to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

When i answered it just hung up.

Called at 6:34pm.  Today must be THE night to call.  This is the 3rd call on my caller ID.  From telemarketers.  Sorry can't help too much with info.

Called my home-phone at 13:38 Pacific -- I was out, and so could not support their "Burn Fund" (or whatever they claiming to be soliciting for).

This is the champion of crank callers: calls and doesn't say mooh, or leave a message; just irritates. I wish he would get another job, so he won't call.

Just called - immediate disconnect as soon as I picked up.

I wish government or someone in 'power' to do so, would put a stop to all telemarketers!! This falls under the category of harrassment and I thought doing that was a BIG NO NO!!!!!!!!

Yeah these numbers have been calling me around the same time for the past year now, and they don't seem to get the message that I won't pick up, or if I do i automatically hang up....

It looks like no one has had trouble with this number for two years, but they just called me this afternoon. I guess they are starting up again...

Are you a Shaw telephone service user? Shaw has an option where you can block upto 32 specific telephone numbers from calling you.

When you answer a call and there is no one there, if its a charitable telemarketing company (like Xentel or BC List or even Telus) it means they have their auto dialer tuned to call too rapidy, generating more cals than they can answer. These charitable fundraisers customariy take one-third of your donation plus expenses (phone bi, overhead, commission & owner's salary), meaning the charity frequenty gets as little as 5% of your donation. The telemarketers deserve your compassion -- they are at the botttom of the ladder. The owners deserve to have their harrassing conduct reported to the CRTC. http://www.crtc.gc.ca

They say they are from burn fund , probably a scam , they call every night , telephone company says its totally legal..

Just reverse dialed the number, and got a recording from a Burn Fund. It seems they're canvassing for donations.

Yea, Its some kind of low budget movie distributor. They sell morally based movies for family viewing. They call around(not sure how they obtain the number) and try to speak with the lady of the house, I suppose because they presume femininity is rather more ethically inclined than the machismo psyche of the dominant male. They rant about a conspiracy of sex and violence perpetuated by hollywood circles which is then consumed by the dumb masses manipulated into thinking films like Shrek are quality productions.     They urge you to buy movies like "Spot Runs With Jimmy" and "Shaggy the Big Soft Bear". In my opinion they are androgynous, weak, yet cunning and manipulative in their sales tactics.

Called asking for the my mother by name. When I said she wasn't here, he said in a serious tone, The I'll have to call back later. Sounded important, somehow!

Calls me at least once a day, asking for the lady of the house.  When I ask them to take me off thier call list, they say no...I think it's a recording off of your voice, because he kept laughing, and saying no.
