Maybe this company that advertising on TV is not a real public auction sales company but is attempting to get into a "business relationship" with you. If you call the number and converse with them about auctions or whatever then later they may call you for whatever their telemarketing sells based on this "business relationship" you established by calling in the first place.

I just saw an advertisement on tv that listed this number for police impound auctions pertaining to cars and houses.. Not sure if it's the same thing though.
