Calls all the time. Today I called the number to let them know to quit calling.  The lady called me liar and said the 4 phone numbers at my office were not in her system.  I told her they had just called from the number that I dialed and she denied it.  I asked her how she thought I obtained her number.  She couldn't answer that question so she got rude and said she was hanging up on me because I wasn't listening to her.  I told her I am going to report her to the National Do Not Call Registry because we had our number listed there. Very annoying.

They call almost daily and I call them back and there "offices are not open."  I left a threatening message, but that did not phase them- I received calls almost daily since then.  Has anyone had success getting rid of them.

If you look up the number 303-595-8100 you will find they were using this number in 2007.  Same complaints:

What their name is - First Revenue Assurance

Where is their home office - Denver, Co.
Their mailing address - FIRST REVENUE ASSURANCE
                      P.O. BOX 5818
                      DENVER, CO. 80217
Looked up the 303 number and it's tied to the following bank:

Calls every day, sometimes twice a day, on my business line.  My boss complained to me that my message light is blinking every morning when I first come in.  And it is always this number that called with a recording that it is "First Revenue Insurance with an important business call".  Don't want to call them back to ask them to stop, because then I'm afraid it tells them that they have hit on a live person.
Is there somewhere or someone to complain to?

I live in Florida and this is a HOAX, or attempt to FRAUD YOU, or to gain your IDENTITY.. BE CAREFUL.. VERY MEAN SOUNDING MALE WHO YOU TALK TOO.

CALLER poses himself as an agent that is recording you, wants your information without any information, only to reveal that he is looking for a past due Sprint Customer, or cell phone bill. We don't even have Sprint in our area, so I knew he wasn't calling me about a bad debt.

AVOID THIS CALL AT ALL EXPENSE. SOMEONE PLEASE REPORT THIS TO THE LAW..

Thank goodness I found this site... Same experiences - I called & left a message to take my number off & that's how I found out their name... Several calls a week with just number to call - first figured it was technological incompetence, but after reading these messages, I'm sure it's on purpose in order to get people to call... Found their web site, but it is suspicious - now I know why... Have not received collection notice, but that may be because they only have phone no. & no address... Will file complaints like others have....

Called the number and wa connected to a really rude and obnoxious butt-hole.  Hung up, called again and left a message that I was turning in the info the my state's Attourney General.  I live in Texas so I hope they go after his kids.  I called again and a nice lady took me off the call list.

The person who gave my number is Renee Felder.  I think this person or alias is an identity thief.

Unfortunately, Debt Collectors are exempt from the "Do Not Call" registry.

They are governed under the laws of the FTC, which administers the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act):

http://www.creditinfocenter.com/legal/FDCPA.shtml

The only way to stop them from calling is to send them a Cease Communication letter VIA Certified mail. Be sure to request a return receipt and keep copies of everything. If they continue to call after you have written proof they recived it, they can face fines of up to $1,000.00 PER violation.

Go to this website, which contains some good examples of Cease Communication letters for you to use (depending on your particular situation). Just fill in the blanks:

Send them this letter (VIA CERTIFIED MAIL, with return receipt requested). If they continue to call after you have written proof that they received it, they can face fines up to $1,000.00 PER violation:

Today's Date

Your Name
Your Address

Collector's Address

VIA CERTIFIED MAIL

Dear {insert name of collector or company},

I am writing in response to your (letter or phone call) dated {insert date}, (copy enclosed) because I do not believe I owe what you say I owe.

This is the first I've heard from you, or any other company on this matter therefore, in accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Section 809(b): Validating Debts:

(b) If the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period described in subsection (a) that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, or that the consumer requests the name and address of the original creditor, the debt collector shall cease collection of the debt, or any disputed portion thereof, until the debt collector obtains verification of the debt or any copy of a judgment, or the name and address of the original creditor, and a copy of such verification or judgment, or name and address of the original creditor, is mailed to the consumer by the debt collector.

I respectfully request that you provide me with the following information:

(1) the amount of the debt;
(2) the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed;
(3) Provide a verification or copy of any judgment (if applicable);
(4) Proof that you are licensed to collect debts in (insert name of your state)
Be advised that I am fully aware of my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. For instance, I know that:

because I have disputed this debt in writing within 30 days of receipt of your dunning notice, you must obtain verification of the debt or a copy of the judgment against me and mail these items to me at your expense;
you cannot add interest or fees except those allowed by the original contract or state law.
you do not have to respond to this dispute but if you do, any attempt to collect this debt without validating it, violates the FDCPA;
Also be advised that I am keeping very accurate records of all correspondence from you and your company including recording all phone calls and I will not hesitate to report violations of the law to my State Attorney General, the Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau.

I have disputed this debt; therefore, until validated you know your information concerning this debt is inaccurate. Thus, if you have already reported this debt to any credit-reporting agency (CRA) or Credit Bureau (CB) then, you must immediately inform them of my dispute with this debt. Reporting information that you know to be inaccurate or failing to report information correctly violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act § 1681s-2. Should you pursue a judgment without validating this debt, I will inform the judge and request the case be dismissed based on your failure to comply with the FDCPA.

Finally, if you do not own this debt, I demand that you immediately send a copy of this dispute letter to the original creditor so they are also aware of my dispute with this debt.

Same story as above. We also received the same vague recording on our machine. And then, today we received a threatening notice to pay up $1,767.54 that we allegedly owe to Sprint by 3/5/08 or have our name, address and amount due to the big 3 credit bureaus. We have a Sprint account, but our account is in excellent standing, so we don't know what this is about. We never ever, ever, ever received any kind of bill from Sprint stating that we owed them that kind of money, so I'm sure this company is just sending threatening notices to innocent Americans. I don't plan on sending First Revenue Assurance one red cent. I do, however, plan to check my credit reports in March, but I doubt I'll see anything wrong with the reports since they obviously do not have anything other than a name and an address (I'm pretty sure they need to have a social security number).

I, for one, plan on notifying my Congressman about this outrage! Based on what I've read in the previous posts, sounds like I won't get very far by calling this company to inform them that they have sent their notice to the wrong person. I don't understand how a collections company can get away with doing something like this.

We awere getting a lot of calls from this number every single day. They would leave this automated attendant message saying HELLO THIS IS FIRST REVENUE ASSURANCE, PLEASE RETURN THIS IMPORTANT BUSINESS CALL, THE NUMBER HERE IS 1-800-615-9028 ONCE AGAIN OUR TOLL FREE NUMBER IS 1-800-615-9028
The calling number is blocked and comes up as an *unknown* on my caller ID, but I was able to find out more about them online. I subsribe to the Gov *do not call list*. I had no clue who these people were before I researched them (I thought it was an Insurance group), and due to the large number of scams out there, I never return phone calls like this one; which are extremely vague with no useful information. I don't care to return their call on the different number they provide. When researching them, I found a pattern of the same sort of calls to lots of other people who had no clue who this group was with the same robotic vague message.
I received a collection bill in the mail with threats to report us to various credit agencies, ruin our credit and a demand for a $122.94 payment on a Sprint bill (no identifying account numbers with Sprint.) We have never had a Sprint account and they have no stores nor do they sell services in Alaska which is where we reside. First Revenue has also been sending us canned automated phone calls every day for the past week or so, even waking me up in the mornings. I called Sprint and they tried to help us but ended up telling us we needed to call First Revenue since we have never had an account with Sprint. I called them to find out that the account had been paid Monday and the last 4 SS digits of the account payer was 3507. This is not my Husbnad's last 4 (or mine) and when I informed them and asked why they were calling and harassing us, their response was incredibly rude. They refused to give any explanation on how they got our mailing address and phone number, refused to applogize, and tried to cut me off repeatedly when I was trying to speak. I informed them I filed a complaint which they did not care about one whit and the rude person on the phone offered up her name as Jessica Hancock and actually laughed at me about filing complaints as if she had no concern about that what so ever (a *so what* attitude). I had to hang up to stop the verbal abuse. Seeing as how we are the innocent injured party here, this type of action by First Revenue is totally unacceptable, I would like to see the regulatory agency take action against them for cold calling innocent parties in order to try and catch the one guilty party. The Sprint representative told me he has heard other complaints that First Revenue is finding as many names that match as they can and cold calling them hoping to hit the right one; we were not the first to call Sprint and complain about this. This would seem to be illegal since they are harassing innocent people. How many are scared enough to pay their demands even though they are not the right party? How many multiple payments is First Revenue collecting with these actions? It didn't work with us, but it annoyed us to no end.

I have mailed a complaint about First Revenue Assurance agency to the CO gov agency that over sees collection agencies, a complaint to the my state Attorney General and a complaint to the Denver BBB.  The BBB has contacted me and opened a file. The are cold calling similar names *hoping* to catch teh one they are after  This should be illegal since it makes victims of innocent people

here's a follow up to what I just posted.  I called the 800 number and I got a guy pretty quickly and when I gave my number he apologized and said he'd remove it.  I asked how it happened and I guess I interrupted him and he got irate - I think his job is getting to him(!) - and he said someone probably just made up the number.  HUH?  He said that they represent cell phone companies (yikes! must get taken all the time, so if you guys wonder why your cell phone costs are so high...hey, I don't even have one).  Anyway, he asked if I knew a guy named so & so and of course I don't. Before I hung up I asked if he could tell me anything else about this guy and he said no, not legally, then maybe because he felt bad that he yelled at me(?) he quickly asked if I knew the address blah, blah or the number 123-1234. Nope, but thank you very much!  I just googled the info (one town over from me).  the street doesn't exist but the phone number does.  Do I call and ask for the twerp or maybe alert the people that this jerk is using their info for his cell phone sign up???  I just pulled my credit report (was due for a freebie) just to make sure I didn't have any cell companies pulling my info.  there were none

if I am home I get a recording saying it is First Revenue Assurance.  that started about a week ago.  Today I got home from errands and just had that recording others have mentioned with the first part cut off and just the number 1-800-615-9028.  I googled it and found this meesge board.  i will report to Atty General and to do not call list or whomever I can.  VERY Annoying.  I don;t have caller i.d. so I often screen my calls by letting machine pick up since I work from home. I HATE being bothered by hang up calls!

Yeah, these guys have no clue what they're doing. I called them back and got passed on from one person to another, AFTER speaking to a girl that put me on hold 5 times while trying to figure out her job.
After I was nice enough to give my phone # to each of the people that I got transferred to, I just hung up in disgust after the last person said they have to transfer me to yet another department. I told him No & hung up.
If these clowns could get their stuff in order, they might actually be able to call themselves a business, but my hope is they're just another failed business...

I've been getting these same calls.  The most annoying thing is that the message doesn't tell you WHO they are trying to reach.  And if you happen to be home when they call, it's the same recording.

It's a collection agency.  And they're trying to reach someone who does not live here.  My husband has called them at least three times and told them that, but we continue to get calls at LEAST once a week.

These idiots keep calling my business phone without any explanation as to whom they are. I called back 1-800-615-9028 and spoke to some dumb bunny who was trying to 'find' my phone number in their system and he couldn't; he kept putting me on hold to take other calls , from 'real' clients. I asked him what this was about, that he was calling a business. He become nasty with me and I asked for a supervisor, some mental midget woman named Shawn. She told me the 615-9028 was not her phone number, why was I calling her? I don't know what the deal is with these people but I do plan to report them to the Attorney General's office of my state.

Got several calls from this number on my cell phone, they too left a message with this phone number and part of the message was cut off.

I called the number back today, it is a company called First Revenue Assurance.  I waited for a CSR and got a live person, someone named Les.  I told him I was getting phone calls on my cell from his office.  He could not locate my number in their system (???), he said he would fill out a manager request form for I.T. to search the number in their system and have it taken out.  I'm not holding my breath...

I called the number back since it was a recording that had been calling every day for a week.  I pressed "0" to "speak to a customer service agent" and I'd be put on hold for a second before being looped through the options menu again.
